Naruto is a series with millions of fans the world over and a truly unforgettable cast of characters. But so is Jersey Shore. This series is one of many which are popular mostly due to their wide variety of characters and "cool fight scenes," but unfortunately, Naruto has very little to offer on the quality writing front. Please note that, at the time of my writing this, I have not yet seen a single episode of the sequel series, Shippuden--and for the best, because this is a review solely of the original 220-episode anime, just as Shippuden's review will be one on its merits and its alone. No room for bias here. __Writing:__ I will credit Naruto--at the very least, it was free of the many glaring plotholes present in Dragon Ball, another series popular for similar reasons. And the military/political aspects of the show, while certainly not Code Geass or (further yet) Ghost in the Shell deep, are relatively sound and significant to the plot. Where the series really falls flat on its face is in its lack of consistency. A well-planned, well-written series sets laws for itself and then follows them, thus creating a believable world for the viewer--by contrast, the physics of the world of Naruto, much like Superman's powers, depend mostly on what's convenient for the situation, and are usually given a half-hearted explanation some time later. This "do something cool and then scramble for some kind of explanation" style of writing is sorely detrimental to the experience of the show and makes it blatantly clear where the creator's priorities lie: It's all about flashy fight scenes, and the plot's just there to fill the gaps between them. Michael Bay fans rejoice. __Art:__ The artwork and animation are fairly typical for the era. There's no great amount of detail in the lines or fill, and the animation, while not choppy, is no more fluid than other similarly-produced anime series. All in all it's another par for the course, visually. __Sound:__ I've seen the show both dubbed and subbed, and the quality is pretty interchangeable. Naruto's voice is just as grating and obnoxious in both cases, and the rest of the cast is neither greatly- nor poorly-performed. Despite many long outdated beliefs, the dub is also uncut. The soundtrack is actually one of the series's stronger points, though--the mix of rock with traditional Japanese instrumentation works well as the calling card musical style of this series, and is both recognizable and reasonably well-composed. I must give credit for that. Ultimately, Naruto falls into the same trap that so many other series--shonen especially--fall victim to: A very distinct prioritization of action over story content. If you're just looking for some cool fight scenes between characters with cool powers, shows like Bleach and Naruto will more than satisfy the need. If you're looking for a more intricate plot in an immersive setting with dynamic characters, you probably won't find much fulfillment in Naruto.
Out of all the long-running Shounen series that are out there, to me, one stands above the rest. Even though I only watched this anime recently, it holds a special place in my heart as my favorite long-running action anime that I have ever seen, and for good reason. One of the main problem’s that plagues a lot of long-running Shounen’s is their ability to keep an interesting narrative throughout the entire run time of the show. They make it interesting by having the show made up of many different arc’s that each have their own stories, characters and problem’s that the characters must face. A lot of these arcs are self-contained stories that don’t do much for the plot, despite the quality of some arcs. Naruto, doesn’t really do that. While each arc does have their own problems that the characters face the overarching story and the reason these events are happening tie in to the constant narrative that plays throughout the whole show. The plot is always advancing and not once is it ever boring to watch since the characters are always growing and learning different things about their friends and the world that they live in. Normally, if I would ever review any long-running Shounen’s in the future, this would be the section where I do mini reviews of every main arc in the series, but considering the whole show plays out like one big narrative, it’s almost impossible for me to do that. The main story itself is compelling enough that it doesn’t feel like reason just to get cool characters to fight it out (Which is the vibe I’m getting from Bleach from my experience of watching it so far. The story in Naruto is always expanding, new characters get introduced, new villains emerge and while a lot of the events in this series are set up for what’s to come in Shippuden (Especially in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc) it’s still worth watching to see where the characters grow and mold into the people they are later in the story (I say this because it seems quite a few people skip this series and start with Shippuden). Not everything is flawless in this department, however. Naruto is notorious for having insane amounts of filler episodes and this show is one of the biggest offenders of this problem. It starts off harmless enough by having a recap episode, then a hot spring episode, a fun episode about Kakashi’s face and a five-episode arc about a race which would be fine if that was all it was. Instead of ending the show at the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, the show continues into 85 episodes of filler! Even for a long-running show like this one, 85 is an insane amount of filler episodes to have in a row. They even start the filler, right when the story was about to make it to the time-skip. While it was done to wait up for the manga, they could have just ended the original series and waited until they had enough material to start making Shippuden. Instead we got 85 episodes of low-quality random ninja missions that are close to unbearable to watch. I made it through the first few episodes of the first filler arc when I decided to stop and skip to the final episode. Even though this problem can be avoided now since you can just skip these episodes, it only really bugs me when I think of how long fans had to wait until the filler ended back when these episodes were airing. It may not be a problem now but it gets annoying when it still plagues Shippuden. But as I said before, you can just skip them now (Which is the most recommended option). So, in terms of the story department, Naruto does an excellent job considering all the filler is skippable. For long-running Shounen battle series, it is important to have cool, likable characters that make up the cast. No matter how cool the battles are, they won’t matter if you don’t care about who is fighting. Luckily, this is where Naruto shines the most. Naruto, as the protagonist of the story, does a great job to make the viewers root for him. Being the ultimate underdog, Naruto aims big in this series and is where the main emotion comes from throughout the show. He’s a boy that has nothing, that aims for everything. His relationship with the other main characters, his rival and best friend Sasuke, his love interest Sakura and his teacher Kakashi is what really drives this show and is what made this show so popular in the first place. As Naruto bonds with these characters you see him grow from being the village loser to their strongest ninja by doing nothing but making friends and working hard to get stronger. His struggles are relatable and his goals make sense for a person like him. At first, he causes trouble because he’s alone and he thinks that everybody hates him. But by meeting his new squad and bonding with other ninja, he becomes aware of how special friendship is and how you need bonds if you’re going to be Hokage (which is the head of the village). Apart from Naruto, the cast is made up of the coolest and craziest character’s I’ve seen in any anime. I already mentioned Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi but some of the best characters come in the form of rival ninja teams or the crazy villains that the heroes face. Among my favourites are Rock Lee (the lovable goofball), Shikamaru (the lazy genius), Hinata (the very shy, true love interest), Neji (the vengeful prodigy turned ally), Temari (this one is biased since she is my favourite female character) and Gaara (the frightening villain turned greatest ally). Even characters that I didn’t like at first like Ino, Choji, Kiba, Kankuro and Orochimaru turned out to be some of my favourite heroes and villains. But the best character (apart from Naruto himself) is Naruto’s perverted teacher, Jiraiya. Jiraiya is probably one of the most important characters in the series, mostly because of the impact he has on Naruto. While his squad leader Kakashi is training Sasuke, Naruto heads to Jiraiya who teaches him the Rasengan which becomes Naruto’s signature move and becomes Naruto’s father figure throughout the rest of the series. He’s motivation for Naruto to not give up and to continue moving forward with his dreams and ambitions. While I could continue with characters like Tsunade, Kabuto and Itachi, I’ll end this segment here by saying that out of all the other categories, Characters is what Naruto excels at the most. The soundtrack is amazing. The songs are a nice mix of traditional Japanese music mixed in with badass guitar. The Main Theme of the series is one of the most memorable, iconic and beautiful pieces of music to anybody that’s seen this show. If you haven’t heard it, you owe it to yourself to listen to it since it’s probably the most amazing song in the whole soundtrack. In terms of Openings and Endings, Naruto proves once again that just because it’s a long-running Shounen, it doesn’t need to half-ass it’s theme songs. Every Opening is a memorable J-Rock tune and not one of them is bad. It’s hard to pick a favorite from these songs which is why mine is a three-way tie between Haruka Kanata (OP 2), GO!!! (OP 4) and No Boy, No Cry (OP 6). The ED’s, while not as good as the OP’s, are still good and get the job done as Ending songs. Wind (ED 1), Viva Rock (ED 3) and Ima made Nando mo (ED 5) are my favorites while the others are still good, but not the most memorable. While I haven’t heard the Japanese voice acting since I watched the Dub, I can still judge the Dub and my god, is this a damn good Dub. Every voice actor hits the mark with every character they play. Maile Flanagan does an amazing job as Naruto and Yuri Lowenthal (who is one of my favourite voice actors) does one of my favourite performances from the show, as Sasuke who is one of the most iconic characters from the show. Tara Platt also does an amazing job as Temari considering that her performance is one of the main reasons that I like Temari so much. Other notable performances are Steven Blum as Zabuza and Orochimaru, Steve Stayley as Neji, Stephanie Sheh as Hinata, David Lodge as Jiraiya and Liam O’Brien as Gaara. Every other performance of the other main characters was also great but those were some of the best ones that were worth mentioning. If you couldn’t tell, Naruto also does a great job in the Sound department. Now to some of Naruto’s low points. The best way to describe this show is by saying that you’re basically watching an animated manga with a few great examples of amazing fight animation. While this isn’t Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters levels of barely animated, it’s noticeable considering there are a great number of shots that either linger or are completely still. Despite that, every fight in the show (and there are quite a lot) is always interesting to watch and is never boring to watch. The lack of animation during the dialogue sections of the show is made up for by the great animation for a lot of the fight scenes. Battles like Neji vs. Hinata, Rock Lee vs. Gaara, Naruto vs. Gaara, Naruto and Jiraiya and Tsunade vs. Orochimaru and Kabuto, Rock Lee vs. Kimimaro and Naruto vs. Sasuke are all excellent examples of fight animation in long-running Shounen battle series. The animation takes a turn for the worse, however, when you start getting into the filler episodes. They start off fine until the big 85 episodes of filler begins and you see how cheaply the episodes are made and how ugly everything looks. Speaking of things that look ugly, sometimes the character models will look strange and distorted which can come off as very weird and half-assed. I think this might be a problem in the manga as well but some of the off looking characters can be vary jarring when you see them for the first time. This happens very rarely so it’s not too much of a problem. Apart from that, the background art looks amazing and is highly detailed. Even if a shot is barely animated the backgrounds are always interesting to look at and is proof of the crazy amount of work that Masashi Kishimoto put into when he first published each chapter. The show can look extremely beautiful at times but still looks kind of blurry at times (which is a problem shared with Bleach which means that it’s more down to what Studio Pierrot was doing). Naruto does a great gob in the Animation department). Overall, if you are going to pick one of the Big 3 (Naruto, Bleach and One Piece) to watch, Naruto is your best bet. It’s fun, easy to get into and has a satisfying story where you see every character grow with every decision that they make in the show. It might be the only one worth watching in the end, since it hasn’t fallen apart like Bleach did and it might end unlike One Piece. Even though the show is 50% filler, you can still skip it which will make the experience shorter than what you may think. As it stands this first season of Naruto defined a whole new generation of anime fans when it premiered all the way back in 2002. A generation of Fighting Dreamers.
~~~img420(https://i.imgur.com/jpHUmNG.png) ❝ _In the ninja world, those who break the rules are scum, that's true, but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum._ ❞~~~ __Note__: I skipped the fillers __Did I read the manga__: no __Score__: 7/10 - __Plot__: 7/10 - __Characters__: 6.5/10 - __Art & Music__: 7.5/10 __Recommended for__: lovers of shonen, action, fantasy, ninjas, adventure, superpowers, rivalry If I told you that I didn't know what Naruto was before watching this, you'd probably laugh in my face. Yet it's true. Having finished it now, I understand why this anime is so widespread. Lots of people believe that Naruto is only popular because of childhood nostalgia, but as someone who missed this in their childhood, I found it massively entertaining. However, it wasn't until Shippuuden that it grew on me. Naruto is a _commitment_, it's longer than some soap operas, so I hope that by reading this you'll get a better idea of whether it's something for you or not. Naruto is a communal experience, it's not suited for binge-watching. I know I would have enjoyed it more if I started on it earlier in my life. Naruto benefits from childhood nostalgia yes, but it _endures_ because it has genuine soul. Even though it stumbled at times, it captured me enough to keep watching. And that should count for something right? __Plot__ Naruto receives quite a lot of criticism for its plot holes and inconsistent world-building, but I don't think people give Kishimoto enough credit for what he did manage to create. The ninja world he crafted pulls you right into their dimension. Since I am fairly new to shonen, the ninja system and the various ninjutsu techniques were confusing at first, but I adapted quickly. The suspension of disbelief is amazing. I felt like a child again. I wanted to be part of that shinobi world and fight alongside them, it was effortlessly immersive. The storyline makes sense, one event is the cause for the next event, and fights aren't shoehorned in there for the sake of fights. Our main character, named Naruto, is a boy who is ostracized by his village for having a demon locked inside him. By portraying the world from the perspective of an alienated child, we understand his perspective and are more sympathetic toward his rash behavior. Given this narrative, seeing Naruto grow is a rewarding experience. Many elements are rooted in Hindu and Japanese mythology. For starters, _chakra_ is a Hindu concept, and various techniques and characters are named after Japanese mythology and folklore. I can always appreciate it when writers put that bit of extra depth into their stories. It breathes new life into old folklore and introduces them to a new audience, while still keeping it amusing for those who are not aware of these references. One criticism I have is that the fight scenes are somewhat formulaic. Most pivotal points are set up as follows: there is a fight, a character is in danger, we get the emotional backstory, they almost die, but of course they eventually come out on top, cue next fight. This sequence becomes quite repetitive. The series does drag, even without the fillers. There are arcs that should have been shorter, mainly those that diverge from the main conflict. _Note: If you prefer a faster pace, then there is Naruto Kai, a fan project that cuts out filler, recaps, and unnecessary flashbacks for a smoother viewing._ Naruto, ultimately, is one of the many victims of a studio stretching a popular series for profit. But you know what? Naruto is FUN. It is targeted toward a younger audience but it's enjoyable for young and old. ~~~img300(https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/naruto/images/5/50/Team_Kakashi.png)~~~ __Characters__ Naruto builds the foundation of our beloved characters, but the payoff to that buildup is not evident until Shippuuden. This is understandable as the kids are in their early teens, but they remain rather one-dimensional throughout this first part. Naruto wants to prove himself to the village. His desire to be accepted by others is both endearing and tugs at our heartstrings. Sasuke is driven by revenge. I noticed that people tend to dislike him for his reserved demeanor, but he is cautious about affection due to his past. At his core, Sasuke is a comrade who holds his own morals. Sakura, while being a decent kunoichi in her own right, never quite catches up to the both of them. With the other two overshadowing her, Sakura is inevitably pushed to the background. I could definitely understand why Naruto would place so much value in Sasuke as a friend. For a child to be routinely detested by his surroundings to finally find a place to belong, they naturally would cling to that belonging more so than someone who has never known such loneliness. Every character has their fifteen seconds of fame. Kishimoto took this rather literally. We don't see or hear much from side characters that are not pivotal to the plot once their time under the limelight have passed. This is lost potential since some characters were super interesting. __Art & Music__ The fight sequences are really well-made. The animation, albeit simple, is fluid and it is this fluidity that makes the fight scenes work. Naruto doesn't have the most beautiful scenery or artwork, but it has a cozy familiar feeling that seeps into you. The cliff side with the faces carved in stone, the famous swing set in front of the Academy, Ichiraku ramen: Konoha feels homely. The Naruto OST gave us 'Sadness & Sorrow', and a few iconic openings that rocked me back into the 2000s. It's your typical shonen soundtrack, but I come back to it every so often simply to experience it again. 「It is hard to review Naruto without talking about Shippuuden. But here's my best try: Naruto has a more consistent flow when it comes to plot, whereas Shippuuden kind of loses its grip on the reins towards the end. However, Shippuuden is where the characters that are integral to the plot will be fleshed out, allowing for more depth. Naruto, as a series, is that child who is a bit off his rockers and can be all over the place, but you love them all the same!」 Thanks for reading this review, see ya!
I would like to talk about Naruto as a great anime that I would recommend, but unfortunately it is not. It tells the story of a teenage ninja named Naruto Uzumaki, who aspires to become Hokage, leader of his village, with the purpose of being recognized as someone important within the village and among his companions. Counting it this way it sounds good and interesting but all the good things in this story remain in the manga. As a child I can admit that I wanted to be a ninja like Naruto but the reality is that I was 6 years old but actually I do not understand how this anime for children under 14 years of age has been so famous in people from 16 to 20. I never understood the fanaticism that there is with this series. Naruto is a fairly common story in anime, where there are things that repeat over and over again. It really bothers me that shônen anime girls are generally the worst characters of all. For example, Sakura, she is a really good character but every once hated her because in the anime is so useless. Well honestly this anime is painful... But the soundtrack it has is not bad, it often helps in bad chapters and becomes iconic. Naruto's biggest mistakes are made by anime. Basically it is the same story of self-improvement that we have already been told thousands of times in almost all shonen but this time with ninjas. The bows constantly transform into boring and repetitive loops. It's full of cliche characters What is the real need to dedicate five chapters to a battle where only the eyes are focused? Sometimes the game of identifying Naruto with successive characters is abused in the same situation as a child disowned by his people or abandoned by his parents who feels deep pain that is difficult to bear and his subsequent "rehabilitation" after meeting with the boy. After finishing the story of the manga there are almost 100 chapters of pure filling with absurd and boring stories. No matter how fan you are of the series, you will end up hating the filler. But there is no harm that for good does not come, since absolutely nothing happens in the filler, all you have to do is skip it and go directly to the second part of the story: Naruto Shippuuden, but although one thinks that the second part is better, sadly it is a very big mistake.
If you never watched this anime before and is looking into getting into it, prepare yourself. Its older than you think and its gonna have a lot of anime tropes that were made for a younger intended audience. If you just kinda want to turn your brian of and watch a few episodes, go for it. -The charaters have substance, well most of them (talking about you sakura-chan) -Plot varies, to be honest all the plots feel like a build up for the second installment. -Fight scenes are really, really, really good. Some of the best in anime history. -Can be very cheesy at times, even for the shonen genre. Naruto has a few catch lines and phrases you wont forget, but looking back as an adult you will giggle at the idea of those varying Naruto catch lines. -The comedy is no _laughing_ matter. Its... well... its naruto comedy. i dont know how to explain it. its not good, i mean we all know its not good. But its still enjoyable? Like you will laugh. Its really fruity and corny jokes, nothing you haven't seen in anime before but still worth the mention. -a lot of filler episodes and i mean A LOT. -a lot of episodes in general. It is a time commitment. Listen, im not gonna sit here and tell you its one of the best shows ever and say it was the stepping stones for what anime is today and if you dont watch it something is wrong with you. (as much as so many wants to believe) Its a fairly good anime. Just a bit outdated. If you are grown and are use to large interesting titles that have complex thoughts and plots that expand to bigger and deeper emotional inquiries, it is not an anime for you. This is a anime you watch with your younger brother or sister. I would highly recommend this to a middle schooler or someone with a heart of gold and a lot of time on their hands. Its REALLY sucks too because i feel like the second installment of the series "Naruto: Shippuden" is one of the best shonen animes ever created, but unfortunately you have to get through at least the canon and mainstream episodes before you can watch that. In 2017, there were a lot of bandwagons towards this anime amongst the youth, and I was surprised. With that said, its still "watchable." I know i make it sound way worse than it is, but its worth the watch. In the end, disliking this anime is strange and a lot of people (including me) will feel weird about someone saying they watched a 300 episode anime to come to the conclusion that it was bad. I recommend this anime like i recommend people to buy a honda accord. Reliable, but fun! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
~~~~~~~~~ ____Naruto____~~~~~~~~~
# ____Introduction____
Now for reference, this is my second review, I will try to be making this better than my previous one.
I watched Naruto over a year ago, and controversy has yet to cease. Naruto is easily the most
controversial of the big 3, (excluding One-Pieces absurd amount of episodes.) being that it has a lot
of filler, cringe scenes and voice lines, and a horrendous English dub. I think it's finally time to
review this anime.
# ____Plot: 6/10____
”Twelve years before the start of the series, the Nine-Tails attacked Konohagakure destroying much of
the village and taking many lives. The leader of the village, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life
to seal the Nine-Tails into a newborn, Naruto Uzumaki.” ____Thank you google very cool.____ This is
where most of the plot of Naruto comes from, it sets everything in motion for our good hearted
protagonist, Naruto. Whilst throughout the series, training with his rivals Sasuke and Sakura. Taking
place in the Hidden Leaf Village; Konohagakure, this setting is perfect for the ninja aesthetic that
this anime make. In my opinion, I believe the plot is fitting for the show and a ninja shounen anime,
pretty decent.
# ____Animation/Quality:7/10____
October 3, 2002. That is the date of when the first Naruto episode premiered on Japanese television.
The English version of the series was released in North America by Viz Media and began airing on
September 10, 2005, on Cartoon Network's Toonami programming block in the United States. A year and a
day later, Fullmetal Alchemist would air, anyway back to the point. For the most part, the animation
is good. Animated by Pierrot, everyone's designs are established early on and they stay fluent
throughout the entire anime. We always get some funny frames sometimes tho...
# ____Fight Scenes:7/10____
Yes, the ninjas fight each other. Again the animation for these fights is very fluent. They are good.
I also think I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, that they had a small team animating Naruto.
On Numerous occasions, they had several people working on the fight scenes, for a majority of the
[Final Sasuke and Naruto Fight ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pb-6C9D05AM) they only had [Norio
Matsumoto ](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1634547/) animating it. Norio was the key animator in [The
Rock Lee vs Gaara Fight ](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0898200/?ref_=nm_flmg_anm_25), [The Sasuke vs
Orochimaru Fight ](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0886620/?ref_=nm_flmg_anm_25), and [The Final Naruto
and Sasuke fight.](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1302485/?ref_=nm_flmg_anm_25). Norio has made quite a
marvelous feat with all of these fights. Now to give attention to the elephant in the room, [The
Naruto vs Neji Fight.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPmUzRYgf1k). Not only was this fight very
boring, but it dragged on for a total of 34 minutes. I think the main problem of this fight was
explaining a backstory in the middle of it. They explained Neji's family's backstory in the middle of
the fight. Not only that but Neji bringing up destiny almost every 5 seconds gets quite repetitive. I
think that might of been the only fight scene that was genuinely boring. My favorite fight scene has
to be Sasuke vs Orochimaru. It's a great short fight with nice animation, also Sasuke breaths fire,
and its awesome.
#____Sound/Music:5/10____
The Naruto soundtrack is pretty fine on its own. The most prominent instruments in the ost electric
guitars, Shamisen (traditional Japanese guitar), Shakuhachi (traditional Japanese bamboo flute),
violins, drums, and a male chorus for shouty Japanese bits. I think probably the most common song that
almost everyone has heard is [Naruto's Theme ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daPo6q4FXDw) and
[Strong and Strike. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TsE01qdy5A) Nothing I would listen daily, but
it fits the show great and it hypes up many scenes.
#____Chartacters: 4/10____
The Naruto characters that Masashi KIshimoto introduced throughout the story were decent in my
opinion. I will go through a list of all of the main ones:
-Naruto: Very annoying, while being a alright character, he annoys me to no end. He does some pretty
cool stuff throughout the anime as well. Having the nine tails fox, Naruto also does some pretty cool
stuff from his shadow clone cobos to his Rasengan. His design is iconic as its always been.
-Sasuke: The other half to Naruto, while being a cool edgy rival. Sasuke can do some pretty cool stuff
from his Sharingang to his Chidori. Sasuke as well as being iconic, is not as popular as Naruto in
most cases.
-Sakura: People only like her because shes a girl.
-Kakashi: He reads porn in public.
and that concludes all the characters. All in all I only enjoyed Sasuke, Kakashi, and Shikamaru as
characters. They were all alright.
__# Openings: 6/10__
[link I'm gonna make this short and rate all the openings now
GO!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMyuSHewmks)
Opening 01 — ROCKS: 2/10
Opening 02 — Far Away 7/10
Opening 03 — Turning Sadness Into Kindness 6/10
Opening 04 — GO!!! 5/10
Opening 05 — Rhapsody of Youth 3/10
Opening 06 — No Boy, No Cry 7/10
Opening 07 —「Wind and Waves Satellite」6/10
Opening 08 —「Re:member」 7/10
Opening 09 —「Swaying」5/10
You can clearly see that the animation budget for the openings went up overtime.
#__Conclusion__
As I stated before Naruto is very controversial. I genuinely enjoyed this anime, the show after The
Final Fight may be filler, but if you are starting anime I can't recommend this anime anymore. The
Shounen genre has a vast amount of anime, Naruto is one of the better ones believe me. Naruto is a
legendary anime that could never be replaced, its extremely important to the community.

This leads her into being a medical ninja. img220(https://th.bing.com/th/id/R365440e65693d73d132345a562925fd3?rik=eYzFAaDulN3Nag&pid=ImgRaw) Kakashi Hatake - The master of Sakura, Naruto, and Sasuke. He is the one who taught Sasuke the Chidori and he is very powerful. His friend is Might Guy, who has his own squad. Kakashi is known for being a fan favorite because of how laidback he is. He has a Kekkai Genkai which is the Sharingan. However, unlike Sasuke, he can only perform this in his left eye. img220(https://th.bing.com/th/id/Rc9fac8f7923fa5160e564c7f3f5ce982?rik=%2fUV97mkPkpbk2w&riu=http%3a%2f%2fgiffiles.alphacoders.com%2f139%2f13966.gif&ehk=wOvFyx8Ub9aUjRS52R4MwMciirJu4WdpIODUmziHe8U%3d&risl=&pid=ImgRaw) Other characters include: The Legendary Sanin: (a group trained by the Third Hokage) Tsunade - FIfth Hokage, Sakuras mentor Orichimaru - The villain of the show, Sasuke's trainer Jiraiya - Trained the Fourth Hokage, taught Naruto the Rasengan, Narutos mentor img220(https://68.media.tumblr.com/6237b535728e897d420a950fa9c707ce/tumblr_ogjuqiLDOc1rqe0rbo3_500.gif) The Sand Siblings: Gaara Temari Kankuro img220(https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.sMHFK94pTTGs8VS1g7I_5AHaCb?pid=ImgDet&rs=1) Team Guy: Rock Lee - Might guy mini version Tenten Neji - Hinatas cousin? also has a Kekkai Genkai called the Byakugan img220(https://i.pinimg.com/originals/4a/99/a2/4a99a2cab3cfb3a14e059f1e21238825.png) Team 8: HInata Hyuuga - Has a crush on Naruto, has a Kekkai Genkai called the Byakugan Kiba (and Akamaru? lol) Shino Other characters: Shikamaru, Ino, Choji, Kabuto The characters are interesting in my opinion, my favorite being Naruto. He is mischievous yet brave. Sasuke is overconfident yet charming. Sakura is annoying at times but shes a fun character. The characters develop chemistry with each other over time, or we get to see some of their chemistry, such as Sakura and Ino. Some rivalries in the show such as Sasuke and Naruto or Gaara and Naruto (when they first met) and very interesting to see as well. Jiraiya is one of my favorites, not because of how he carries the fan service but because of how much more personality he gives the show. He’s more chill and goofy than Kakashi but he is still a smart and powerful Shinobi. The Characters are all unique in their own way, which is why I give the characters a 9/10. Plot: Naruto strives at his goal of being Hokage by learning different jutsus. This anime is heavily focused about using teamwork to get things done, hence the teams and squads. He must overcome several obstacles in his way, like the Chunin Exams. The Chunin Exams are a series of tests which places students against one another. This mostly consists of battling and challenges, like obtaining scrolls by defeating other teams. Naruto is able to beat this and he and some other Genins advance to the last part of the Chunin exams. However, the exams are interupted by Orochimaru, since he has a grand scheme. Going back to before the exams, Naruto meets Jiraiya. Naruto begged Jiraiya so much to train him. Jiraiya gives in and begins his training. Then Naruto is sent to the exams, which were interupted. The Sand Village help Orochimaru and they unleash Gaara's power. Gaara contains the One Tailed Beast or Shikaku inside of him. The Third Hokage goes through a heavy battle with Orochimaru. Orochimaru reveals that he has a new plan for immortality by using other people's bodies. He then proceeds to reanimate the First and Second Hokages and The Third Hokage is greatly damaged by this. In his last effort before death, he tries a special jutsu, which will kill Orochimaru, but also kill the Third Hokage. Unable to live long enough to finish the jutsu, he only destroys Orochimarus hands since then he cant do any jutsus. Then the Third Hokage dies. Gaara fights with Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto. Shikaku slowly takes over his body and engulfs him. Shikaku fully comes out, so Naruto calls Jiraiyas acquaintance, a large toad named Gamabunta. They fight until Naruto wakes up Gaara, who makes Shikaku return into his body. Gaara then learns the meaning of love from Naruto. Now Naruto trains with Jiraiya. He learns the technique called the Rasengan, which is a ball of chakra which spins in his hand. Tsunade and Jiraiya team together to defeat Orichumaru again. Orochimaru put a curse mark on Sasuke, which will eventually make Sasuke seek out to find him for power. Sasuke is mad at Naruto because earlier, Itachi found Naruto. He wants Naruto to join the Akatsuki, an evil organization which wants power. Sasuke rushes there but is unable to stop Itachi. Itachi then calls him weak and says that Sasuke is useless to him and that he only wants Naruto. Then, 4 ninjas from the Sound Village kidnap Sasuke. This results in Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji, Kiba, and Neji to retrieve Sasuke. All of them except Naruto stay back to fight members of the Sound 4 until there are none left. Until a subordinate for Orochimaru shows up. HIs name is Kimimaro. Naruto is unable to beat his amazing strength. Luckily, Rock Lee shows up and defends Naruto, but even he cannot defeat Kimimaro. Then Gaara shows up and kills Kimimaro. Naruto finds Sasuke and they both fight to release their anger on one another. They both also reveal their true forms - Sasuke's curse mark form and Naruto with 1 tail of Kurama released. In the end, Sasuke wins as Naruto blacks out due to exhaustion. Sasuke then leaves the Hidden Village of the Leaf. There are 4 more seasons of filler. At the end of Season 9, Naruto leaves with Jiraiya for 3 years to go and train his abilities so that he can fight off the Akatsuki. This is a basic synopsis of the story and leaves out a lot of crucial parts but its the most basic, watered down version of the plot. The plot explores the topics of friendship, bravery, revenge, and much more. Each arc feels different from each other and each character has a specific goal in mind every season, even though some characters share the same goal at times. The plot is pretty good in my opinion, obviously not the best but still it is entertaining so I give it a 8/10 Conclusion: Naruto is a great anime and it tells the story of the perseverance of a boy trying to save his friends and his village. However, those themes are further explored in Naruto: Shippuden. Naruto serves as a excellent prologue and build up to help you know these characters when you go into Naruto Shippuden. img220(https://cdn.wallpapersafari.com/19/63/q2Npax.jpg) My final rating is a 82.
Ok so my experience with Naruto was one where I watched a few episodes of it on Cartoon Network when I was a kid, like a lot of other kids at the time, but I never really watched it and had only seen a handful of episodes. I finally decide to watch it about 6 months ago as I had met so many people who said it was there favorite show, and there was such a huge fanbase for the show as well. Looking at it from afar the show always struck me as really corny but I wanted to give it a chance. I watched the first 141 episodes and watched episode 220, I skipped all the fillers in between as I was told it wasn't necessary to watch them. I really wanted to like this show, but there is just way too much bad compared to good. There are about 135 or so canon episodes in the show, the problem is this could've easily been cut down to 60 episodes. I'm not joking. The amount this show drags its absurd, theres one scene *SPOILERS* where the Third Hokage is fighting Orochimaru and he is being stabbed in the same place not moving talking to Orochimaru for about 10 episodes (I didn't count them so give or take.) Now I'm not saying the fight scene took 10 episodes I'm talking about them literally just standing there for 10 episodes. The show is filled to the brim with this that it constantly came to the point where I wanted to stop watching. The thing that sucks is I actually find the character designs and the characters for the most part. quite endearing, so to see the show constantly fail because of its abysmal pacing was terrible. The endearing characters (although many of them tropes at the same time) are what I feel like people who love the show remember, and because of that they can just look past all the bad parts of the show like they don't exist. Another huge problem this show has is Naruto's plot armor. This man does not lose. This is an even bigger problem when you look at the fact that he is initially is built up as the underdog. This is almost immediately lost when you realize that no matter what happens Naruto is going to win whatever fight he's in no matter what the circumstances are. I could almost stomach the fact that Naruto was able to defeat Kiba and Neji, but it was when he defeated Gaara that really put it over the edge for me. You see the entire show Gaara is built up to be this unstoppable for among the other students, for Naruto to beat him at the skill level he is at at the time should be literally impossible. When they finally get into fight Naruto pulls The Nine tail fox and the biggest frog homie out of his ass like its nothing. The show can constantly justify Naruto's strength just by saying, "He has the nine tail fox in him" but it always takes it too far and the show becomes very boring of this because it feels like Naruto's life is never at stake. To compare it to its inspiration, Hunter X Hunter, imagine if Gon just beat Hisoka in the tournament arc. It would be absurd. Everything the show tells you before Naruto fight Gaara is that he would get his ass whooped, but Naruto always just goes Hulk mode and wins it is so uncreative and uninspired. As to not make this review too long I'm going to end it here, the are a plethora of other more minor flaws with the show as well such as flashbacks, lack of soundtrack diversity for 220 episodes, how powers such as substitution jutsu are never shown til after the fact and are just there as a plot tool that bails the writer out of any hole he wrote himself into, etc. I do however feel like if this show was 60 episodes or so instead of 135 it would've at least understood why people love the show so much as it is a great enjoyable story with a cool concept with a lot of great characters and fight scenes. As for now though I feel that the only way someone could possibly enjoy this show is if they started watching it under the age of 15 or so. This show at the end of the day is made for kids (which is fine I feel like it can appeal to adults as well.) so if you didn't watch it as a kid, chances are if you have seen any great animes you aren't going to be able to look past all of its flaws. At least that was the case for me.
___Naruto___ is one of the first anime I've ever seen, and the definitely first out of the big 3. It is definitely not perfect. I'll be giving both the good and the bad of the show. It is a 3/4 Naruto Review and 1/4 a Shippuden one. Spoiler Alert for OG Naruto and Certain Shippuden parts. Shippuden spoilers are Said so Before the part __Cons__ : - Bad Female Characters : I can't even call the female characters average in terms of writing. And it gets pretty worse and is easily identifiable. Personally, I think Sakura was done good in the war arc (and in boruto) but, in the original naruto (which we are talking about), No. Just no. She's just there. And the other female charcters are done even worse. Hinata got the screen time but, she didn't do anything major. Tenten barely got screen time. The only good female character according to me was Temari and Tsunade to an extent. - Fillers After a point the fillers really get boring and bad. Especially during an important arc. It isn't as bad as in Shippuden, I know I'm being really nit picky here. - Partners (Shippuden Spoilers) I know this is a more Shippuden problem, but still. Naruto and Hinata is a bad ship. Cause Naruto literally does nothing after Hinata tells she loves him during the pain arc. And during the War arc, he flirts with Sakura. - Haku being a boy Bruh. Best Girl is a boy. HOW????? He was easily one of the best looking. HaHa anyway, This is it for the cons. Now, the Pros __Pros__ : - Best Villians Naruto hands down has the best villains. They have motivations which are believable and in lots of scenarios we feel bad for them. And that is needed cause Naruto usually reconciles with them, too, giving us the audience a sense of happiness. (Shippuden Spoilers) Also, the Akatsuki is hands down the best villain group to ever exist period. - Excellent Start Naruto had a very good start. It introduces us to a character you feel sad for and so, you have this emotional feeling towards him. Then, it's followed by the Demon-mist arc and then the Chunin exam arc. - Arcs While Shippuden had more quality of few good arcs, the original had quantity of good arcs. The (Above mentioned) Demon-mist arc, Chunin exams arc are really good. The Sasuke Retrieval arc, Itachi vs Naruto/Jiriya arc are all gold. - Characters At the end of the day Naruto is about building friendships and that is seen fully, So, if you want a big cast with little spotlight every now and there, this is your show. - Fights The big fights did not disappoint. Sasuke vs Naruto, Rock Lee vs Gaara, Sasuke Retrieval fights, Gaara vs Naruto, were all really, really good and had the emotions, too. - Main Character Naruto is a really good main character. You have seen his life. How horrible it was and yet, how he easily forgives and does not kill. It just amazes you and feels this emotion towars the character. - Soundtracks Sountracks in the Naruto Saga are really, really good and have this vibe to them.
Naruto is one of the greatest and most popular anime's there have ever been and there's a lot of reasons to why that is. The character roster To start off, Naruto's character roster is massive. Every character in the series is meticulously created by Kishimoto and are all for the most part great except for some that do nothing and add nothing to the overall plot ( ~like sakura for example~ ). But overall, characters have interesting personalities that differentiate them from other characters. Everyone should be able to find themselves a character that they would call their favorite, whether it's Kakashi, Madara, an Akatsuki member or literally anyone else in the show. The Akatsuki Can I just go on and say that, honestly, the Akatsuki is one of, if not THE best anime villain group. Akatsuki such a good combination of goofy characters like Tobi, ~!which is also a great and unexpected villain that turns out to be Kakashi's childhood friend!~ Deidara, Hidan, and more serious ones like Madara, Itachi, Pain, and other great villains. Each and every member has unique abilities that make them special in their own way. I could go on and talk about every each one of them but that would take way too long and I don't think you're here for that. The Magic Let me explain all about the magic of Naruto's Tale. Back when we were all stuck at home in early 2020, I, like a lot of people had no idea what I was going to fill my days with. I used to not even know anime existed but I remember searching for something that I could watch and that could help me get through those times. For the first time, I decided to watch Naruto, ~!which I actually thought was just s a sometimes-weird-looking cartoon!~ and just by the first episode, I was fascinated by the universe these shinobi's lived in. Back when Orochimaru, was a threat, and Team 7 would go on different missions, everything was very simple, and I'm glad it started off like that and became more complex over time. Honestly, if the universe would've been so complex from the get-go, I think I would be confused more than anything. Anyway, I started watching and as the episodes would go on, I would get to see Rock Lee's fight with Gaara, Orochimaru's battle with Hiruzen, ~!which took way longer than needed!~ and all the hand signs and the jutsus. All of that made for a great anime and by the time I got to shippuden, Naruto had already taken an important place in my heart. The Anime Openings Man, Naruto openings are great. Fighting dreamers, Blue Bird, Silhouette and lot more of them kept me entertained for a long time. They captured perfectly what the whole show was about. Adrenaline, emotional moments, friendship, having a seemingly impossible dream and everything else were always portrayed in those openings. Madara Uchiha How many villains can an average anime watcher enumerate that are actually overpowered ? Well in Naruto at least there are a lot of villains that are very strong like Pain, Orochimaru, Kimimmaro and others. But none of them could possibly get to the level of Madara Uchiha. ~!When he got into that battle against the Shinobi Alliance, it looked like he was playing Dynasty Warrior against these, might I remind you, THOUSANDS OF JONIN LEVEL SHINOBI. Rare are the villains that are actually a huge threat. Seriously, the alliance was supposed to be ALL THE SHINOBIS IN THE WORLD FIGHTING FOR ONE CAUSE, and yet, they couldn't lay a finger on the prodigy that is Madara Uchiha. The way Kishimoto killed him was questionable to say the least, but, at that point who would've thought of a better idea to end him off. At the point, where EIGHT GATES MIGHT GUY WASNT ABLE TO KILL HIM. !~In short Madara Uchiha is a hell of a villain and I believe that he took the universe of Naruto to a whole other level.
The phenomena of the "Big 3" now seems like an eternity ago. Naruto was certainly popular, and it was far and away the shounen I fucked with the most when I was in my early teenage years. But, as with all things, time provides perspective. It's become far more mainstream to express criticism and even derision of old obsessions like Naruto. Common ones include: filler, common and overused tropes, ass pulls, dated aesthetic, poor or little animation and obnoxious characters. My personal favourite critique of Naruto has been thematic in it's basis. After all, Naruto's impoverishment and underdog status are huge to the narrative of the series, but was Naruto really an underdog? He hailed from a lineage of gifted Ninja, stumbled upon the secret art of Shadow Clone, has huge mana reserves (or whatever they call it in Naruto again lol) and was the container for 9 tails. Ninja aristocracy if I've ever seen it. I don't disagree with any of those aforementioned critiques. I would find it extraordinarily hard to go back and watch Naruto from the very beginning to the end now. However, I think the creativity of Naruto should not go understated. Ninja villages and ninja arts are still cool. Many of the battles and arcs in Naruto were engaging and had no shortage of good moments. Watching back fights such as Sakura + Granny vs Sasori (from Shippuuden) are still hugely entertaining, even if the quality of the animation isn't top notch throughout. I enjoy modern shounen (e.g. Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen), but not many of them have come close to the sense of scale that Naruto had. I also wonder to what degree will my preference for these shounen hold up into the future when I've also developed distance from them as well. Even though I like the cast of Hero Academia, I still haven't watched beyond the first season because I don't feel it necessary and some of the content reads as cringe to me in my geriatric state of 25 years old. Am I just beginning to go off the genre conventions of shounen? Well, no, because HXH is still the best thing since sliced bread. But then again, HXH isn’t exactly representative of the classic shounen formula we all see in shows like Bleach, Naruto and (maybe) One Piece. So that’s why Naruto is a 6 to me. There is a mix of the great and the irritating/cringe/plain bad in my mind from watching Naruto. It was certainly fun, but I don’t think I will ever revisit it properly. Even the culling of the filler may not be enough for me to stomach some of the staler elements of Naruto. So long and thanks for all the [redacted] running like Ninjas! (Hinata best girl, Kiba best boy, Kak-sensei destroy me :3 and please lord smite the heathen Sakura)
I did hear about this show through a couple of television promos and my friends. After so many years, I finally got to watch Naruto and this turned out to be one of the best things I've done in my life. I have never identified with a shounen protagonist more, and even supporting characters have been written with care and brilliance. The first episode itself hit me in the feels when I realized I wasn't the only one who as a kid did stuff to get people to pay attention and care for me. This is the point where the creator Masashi Kishimoto as well as the animators teased me the start of something epic. Naruto is an out-and-out action anime, filled with stylish martial arts fight sequences, with tones shifting occasionally between intense and lighthearted, depending on the backdrop and buildup. It still amazes me to date how one can come up with such a fantastic fight choreography and draw it with hand, and that too a number of times to deliver the right product! The music is simply out of the world and suits every bit of where it happens to play out. Especially "Orochimaru Theme", which surprised me when I heard Hindi words in it! The animation is beautiful for its time of creation, and the writing is splendid. The characterization is what sets Naruto apart from other shounen anime and maybe even makes it the best in this category. It captures both the excitement of being a child as well as the pain of being lonely, with finesse. The tonal shifts between dramatic and humorous are beautifully done, as a result of which you'll be on a roll-coaster ride of emotions throughout the show. Plus, being jam-packed with action means Naruto also delivers some of the greatest battles ever written and drawn in the history of anime. The depth in the writing reflects in the dialogues as well, many of which end up going down in history as life-changing quotes. No doubt, the voice acting is top notch, especially for the protagonist. Watching this show on a daily basis made me so engrossed that it really smashed my heart into a million pieces whenever I saw kid Naruto crying. It still makes me emotional to think what he had to go through when he was younger, and how strongly he rose to achieve his goal of being accepted by everyone. This has taught me so many integral life-lessons I wish I could learn as a kid, but it's never too late. One word for the fillers as well: Please don't skip them! I know that there's minimal to no manga canon story after episode 135, but the fillers provide a fantastic character development for less-used characters such as Hinata and Tenten, and are still pumped up with exciting action sequences. So watch the whole thing, all the 220 episodes, and only then you can comment how good of an anime Naruto is.
To be honest, writing this review without finishing the series and rewatching almost every fight is impossible, because I cant for sure say how consistent the anime is going to be, so everything I say now is purely from my experience with Naruto Season 1. Here goes nothing. img220(https://mocah.org/uploads/posts/4591727-naruto-shippuuden-panels-kakuzu-hidan-orochimaru-hoshigaki-kisame-uchiha-itachi-tobi-zetsu-konan-pein-deidara-sasori-anime-collage-akatsuki-naruto-shippuuden.jpg) img220(https://i.pinimg.com/564x/f9/ae/be/f9aebeed5bf3960749c7a5a187ce3904.jpg) Naruto has a fantastic plotline, and that is pretty much undeniable. Plot twists are impossible to predict. The sheer number of side characters allows the writer to create a masterpiece and have fun writing it. "Amazing" is the bare minimum that one could say to describe this plot. I feel the characters should've introduced themselves at a slower pace. With that many characters introduced in each arc (especially at the start), only 40% of these characters get the screen time they deserve. The others that didn't get enough screen time left with close to no character development. But the 40% that did get their screen time had semi-manageable character development. But, Most characters showed great personalities since the start, With some exceptions. For instance, Sakura let me down badly as the only character development she went through was her "will" to help Sasuke near the end, and she started to get a liking for Naruto. Yet she hasn't done anything in an entire 220 episodes but cast one healing spell in the last arc, hoping to see more of her in the 2nd season. Fighting scenes were enjoyable. It made the process of rewatching some episodes very entertaining. Kudos to the writer for setting up fights between perfect rivals in terms of abilities and not randomly generating the fight scenes with one brain cell. You can tell the effort and thought process put into the Chakra Abilities, let alone the fighting scenes, the clans, and the lore. Finally, the animation in Naruto is pretty good for its time, at least that's from my perspective since I really couldn't care less about how good or bad the art style or animation is for an anime unless it's utterly deplorable, which in this case it isn't. Overall, the anime is fine, but it has a lot to improve on, and prove itself to be the anime that stands next to the giants of the industry. I am looking forward to the 2nd season, and I will drop a review about it after I finish watching it and get a clear idea about what I think about the anime at that point. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my review! Ciao.
~~~Naruto Review~~~ 8.6/10 + Biased Bonus = 9/10 Story 9/10: Where do I start? This anime was many people's first love, it makes you care about the protagonist and his story from the first episode. World building was superb and the powers and story have a lot of depth which keeps the watcher from getting bored. Fuck fillers! Even if they can be enjoyable sometimes, I really can't stand wasting a whole week of excitement on a filler episode.Chunin exams was so hype, this is where I truly loved this anime and was hooked. Something I really love about this anime is that even though its main demographics were kids/teens it's actually pretty dark, it also has its fair share of funny moments which give a great feel to the overall story and vibe. Actually gives life lessons (can get a little stale, but I rate the fact they did it because of the demographic) Animation 7/10: Animation is decent for its time, all thought it is a little out dated now. Still, I don't think it was anything groundbreaking at the time, this could be due to it being a weekly release, so they needed to downgrade the animation to get the episodes out on time. I was a big fan of the effects, nothing seemed shoddy or out of place, it just didn't WOW me, you know? Characters 9/10: Characters are all unique and enjoyable also you're not overloaded with new faces constantly, you get a steady slow of new people to remember. Naruto is a very relatable character as he gets picked on and bullied which happens to a lot of kids, he's also very uplifting, and I think it's great that they had the fore thought to not just this make this a fun watch but also a life lesson that can help children grow. This is probably why it's so popular and really cemented itself as a power house anime. I can't think of any characters i dislike apart from Sakura (if you don't include the fillers), she's so boring and basic. She is relevant to the story and plays a part in a lot of connections, but she's just soooo helpless. Music/Voice acting 8/10: A few nostalgic openings and backing music with creative instruments that stay loyal to the origin of the anime. Voice acting is excellent in Japanese but comes off really corny in English. Might be because it hasn't aged well butt even then some characters (looking at you Sasuke!) are so melodramatic. If someone played a random opening or backing song, I think I could guess it being from Naruto 9/10 times. Lasting Effect/Ending: 10/10: I don't think ill ever forget Naruto, and I've made so many memories with friends watching it and playing the spin-off games. I really grew as the anime was released, and in a way it shaped me as a person. Not to mention it's not even finished, and I have a whole new long-running anime to watch after. I can't give this any less than a perfect score for last effect alone. For a lot of people this was their gateway anime, it was the one that opened them up to new horizons and I think it deserves respect. The ending sets up Shippuden fantastically, as it keeps the mystery behind a few things and gives a needed time skip so that everything feels fresh and evolved when it returns. Biased Bonus: 2 It's fucking Naruto, how can I not bump it up to a 9 like??? it's a goated anime
When I first started watching anime, watching Naruto has never crossed my mind. I did not grow up with the series, nor did I have any pre-judgment whatsoever. My friends keep recommending it to me during mid-pandemic quarantine and kept on assuring me that I will not be disappointed, so I decided to give it a shot and started this late January 2022. In my head, I knew I was going to have an anime burnout even before I started preparing to watch that long ass journey. I wasn't expecting to be attracted to the first few episodes. I kept going and going till I didn't realize I'd gotten to almost a hundred episodes. I was fascinated by the world these shinobi's lived in. Back when Orochimaru was a threat, and Team 7 would go on different missions, everything was very simple, and I'm glad it started off like that and became more complex over time. I also began to secretly do those hand jutsu in front of the mirror to see if I looked as cool as Sasuke's. I get to see wonderful fights in the Chunin exam and the start of everyone's friendship. I watched this in Netflix but they only have 218 episodes, so I had to watch the remaining ones in NarutoGet. It's entirely up to you whether you want to watch the fillers or skip them for now and return to them when you have more time. The animation, its color, and how it was drawn was pretty solid, and sometimes they include those funny fish eye lense perspective. I had to be honest, the quality was not it, IT WAS ASS, tho I understand because it has been over a decade. But I assure you that Shippuden's animation on average was better than the original series, and the density of high-budget episodes and sakuga was higher too. I have to be honest, the openings and the backing music was very nostalgic and unique. If someone played that, I think you could guess it being Naruto a couple of times. Sakura's unpleasant personality and the way she was written are two things that many people dislike about her. You will, however, you'll also be given the opportunity to comprehend her. Idk. SHE WAS JUST THERE although they gave her a little character development, but they still say she's useless. I don't really care :DD I'd say that this anime will go up in your top 5-10. __It is truly a memorable series__. The anime as a whole has terrific action and witty humor, but the characters are what really make it stand out. The plot will allow you to get to know all of the characters in the anime. Although the show has a large cast, I'm sure you'll recognize them after a few episodes or more. I've also read a number of reviews on this, and I'm sure we all have our own perspectives/preferences. Some argue that reading the manga is more worthwhile than seeing the anime, and that the anime was overhyped. To other people, it was kind of like a miss or hit show. Whether you love it or you hate it. But for me its a __goated anime__. Ofc it would have to reach 90/100. I decided to write a review about this anime because this was my first time watching THAT many seasons. We all have our own perspective/preferences, and this is my __own__, so don't come to me :D >I recommend this anime 100%!!!
I don't know if it's sad that as someone who's watched anime, read manga and light novels and played visual novels for the better part of 10 years is only now finishing Naruto, but yeah, that's what happened. I really enjoyed it. Perhaps it's that I was a bit of social outcast when I was around Naruto's age, but I'm able to empathize with his character. That doesn't mean he's not annoying and over the top at times, but on the whole, he's a pretty good character. The con of the show, as I'm sure plenty of people have said before me is that Naruto contains a lot of filler arcs, most of which are boring. But I can largely forgive that because the main arcs, or at least what I perceive them since I haven't read the manga yet, are just really enjoyable. The Naruto-Sasuke dichotomy is mostly done well, except when Naruto's "I can save him/let me find him" complex really revs up. But their relationship increasingly souring based on Sasuke's jealousy, leading up to their ultimate conflict was just so well done. I decline to discuss Sakura as a character because frankly she falls into the damsel in distress category at times but also is able to stand up for herself. Her one-sided pining for Sasuke dampens her character. I wish the show had demonstrated more growth for her alongside Sasuke and Naruto. The other main characters (such as Shikamaru, Choji, Ino, Shino, Lee etc.) are developed really well and they're never overshadowed, at least in my opinion, by Naruto. As ever, I endeavor to write a spoiler-free review. And Naruto finding a series of mentors, first in Kakashi-sensei and then Jiraya, it was great to see him slowly mature from a free-spirited, rebellious kid into someone who can channel that into something for the greater good of the Hidden Leaf Village. It's a well-executed coming of age story, albeit filled with more drama and excitement than your average shounen series might have (separate from battle-shounens). It's a good gateway anime, indeed better than that of SAO, which is a whole other can of beans I won't get into at the moment. It's frequently a show where I honestly wanted to see the next episode (fillers aside for the most part). It's a show I would recommend to most people and an excellent show to start someone off if they're just beginning to watch anime. Which is why I rank it at a 75. I know people might rag on it for being a battle shounen, but honestly that has never bothered me if the story that accompanies it is good enough, something that I find series like SAO suffer from. I hope people are willing to give Nauto a go. I'm sure it might not appeal to everyone but I think most people will be able to enjoy it. Hope this helps!
Naruto has a lot of great potential to be a decent story but is just wayyy to bloated with filler. Most people just say to just skip the filler and not count it in the score, but you can't ignore that it's there and rate it perfectly. If I was rating Naruto by the average episode, I'd rate it worse, but I'm giving it a little fairness, because you can just skip the filler. What you can't skip, however, is how bloated every single episode is, even non filler episodes. Naruto should've been ~60 episodes. Without filler, there are 131 episodes of Naruto, which is just way too much. It kills the pacing completely. The manga for Naruto isn't great either. I remember sorta liking this in middle school, but I can't get back into re-watching it just by how LONG it takes to do anything. Even a show that seems like it takes a long time, like Jojo part 3, is nothing compared to this show. I can't even go rewatch cool fights or anything. This could be a 8/10 if it was brought back Fullmetal Alchemist style. I don't even care enough to watch Shippuden because of how long it is, and by how much plain better shows there are. Don't waste your time. Naruto also has very generic tropes and fails to do anything unique with them. Plenty of anime and manga before it have actually expanded on the format while Naruto leaves it plain and dull. Fullmetal Alchemist has darker themes while preserving a goofy nature. Berserk presents rivals in a much better way, years before Naruto, with Guts and Griffith. The soundtrack is just the same songs over and over again for 200 episodes. It's good but it overstays its welcome. The animation is fine, but if they cut out the parts with filler to focus on the important parts it would be a lot better. It also looks kind of blurry and worse then shows near its time, like samurai shamploo and others. People who say this is great are weird or 14 run away from them. I will give the original story merit for actually kinda staying true to being ninjas, vs shippuden's gods and whatnot. The world actually feels tangible. One big complaint is also how Naruto lacks a consistent villain, but this is mainly for shippuden. Sasuke is the closest thing to a consistent villain, but for some reason he is replaced by a character from left field. Power escalation also starts bad in the original series and is exacerbated in Shippuden. Overall, ignore past hype, do yourself a favor, and watch something that won't waste your time. I can only recommend this if you are completely devoid of anything to watch. I wonder what people are doing when they watch all of this without experiencing the true classics similar to it.
So, my last review for Naruto got taken down because I was focusing to much on the word count. I decided to rewrite my Naruto review. The plot is about a boy named Naruto who has the nine tailed fox sealed inside him, sadly he doesn't know this for quite some time until he finds out from one of his sensei's, but Naruto still wants to complete his dream to be a ninja one day. img220(https://images6.fanpop.com/image/photos/33800000/Naruto-naruto-33813764-1024-738.jpg) The charters of Naruto's ninja team is Kakashi sensei who trains Naruto and his teammates to be great ninjas. Then there is Sauske from the Uchiha clan, Sauske wants to become strong so he can kill his older brother Itachi. Lastly there is Sakura Haruno, Sakura hates Naruto but loves Sauske, she doesn't do much for most of the series except for crying for Naruto and Sauske in the face of danger. In the rest of the show though she is able to heal , but still doesn't do much. The charter dynamics in the show and story flow are pretty good and consistent through out the whole thing which is pretty good. The fanservice is very little, there are serval perverted charters in the series and there is a female charter with a large chest. This series is also quite sad at times and it made me tear up as well, so be wary of sad charter deaths and violence. My only complaint is that there are a lot of pauses and us just looking at the charters while they think. I actually won't complain about the bad written female charters or Sakura because honestly I think they are hilarious to watch and the show wouldn't be the same without them. What I love about the series is that I knew I loved anime when I first watched this show and there is a lot of good charters and a lot of good moments in this anime. I also love the story arcs and music in this anime as well because these are some of the bests story arcs that I have ever seen. This is a great first anime and I recommend this anime to anyone who wants to get into anime. img220(https://pm1.narvii.com/6521/e962d2428f4397cd308f800626421615f9cc741c_hq.jpg) The visuals are honestly pretty good as well as the charter deigns for each charter. I feel like this anime definitely deserved it's place as one of the big three, I hope you feel the same way after you watch this anime. img220(http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/24700000/Sasuke-Naruto-Sakura-naruto-24743495-1280-800.jpg) I honestly feel like less people are getting into good classic anime these days so I hope you watch some good classic anime, you could watch this anime with friends, family, or by your self, but by all means watch some classic anime.
Se metade dessa porra não fosse filler PODRE a nota seria maior Arco do Zabuza: 10/10 Zabuza... Puta que pariu que vilão CHAD, além de ter uma morte foda, ele tem um desenvolvimento curto mas excelente, Zabuza não teve um Iruka na sua vida como Naruto, no seu exame chunin teve que matar todos de lá, até seus companheiros e com isso e outros fatores criou-se o "demônio" Zabuza pois na visão do mundo shinobi o que importa é a sua missão, seus objetivos, mas seus companheiros, seus laços você deve deixar de lado afinal eles são apenas ferramentas, mas no fim se é mostrado que por mais que ele não queira admitir, no fim ele ainda é humano: "Suas palavras me calam fundo, mais fundo que qualquer lâmina". Além de que a relação do Zabuza com Haku não tem uma duração gigante mas você em pouco tempo entende a relação de ambos. Arco do Exame: 8/10 Segundo melhor arco, apesar de algumas coisas que me incomodo como os alunos estarem usando um monte de bugiganga pra colar na prova KKKKK, mas pra mim continua sendo um bom arco, principalmente depois de entrarem na floresta la que esqueci o nome, além da aparição do chad orochimaru. "Ei garoto, não está ferido está? seu medroso" Arco da invasão de Konoha: 7/10 Arco pequeno mas ainda sim bom, gosto do uso de personagens secundários como o Shino por exemplo, além de que a luta tanto física quanto ideológica de Naruto e Gaara é muito foda, "É quase insuportável não é? a sensação de ser sozinho" a partir dessa frase é puro cinema; E a luta de Hiruzen e Orochimaru é muito bem feita e tensa, ainda mais para mim que não sabia o desfecho da luta (assim como não sei a maioria das coisas de Naruto tirando algumas coisas do Shippuden) Arco da Tsunade: 7/10 Arco bom, mostrando a força de vontade e teimosia do Naruto novamente mas de forma FODA, a luta final dos 3 sennins com Naruto e Kabuto no meio é simplesmente incrível, confesso que paguei pau pro Kabuto mesmo ele sendo mais fraco que a Tsunade ele conseguiu quase vencer ela e o Naruto, só acho o começo do arco muito morno, mas o final compensa Arco dos Ninjas do som: 6/10 Arco com a melhor opening (ao invés de pular ela eu repetia). Impressionante que as lutas mais interessantes sempre são do Shikamaru; Gaara contra Kimimaro também foi massa além das reflexões citadas sobre solidão e más influências. Pena que tem as outras lutas que são bem mais fracas, a do Neji até que foi massa na verdade, mas o resto é bem esquecível, Rock Lee bêbado é muito vergonhoso, assim como a luta do Choji que se resume a ele ser gordo e a personalidade dele é ser gordo e ainda tem o fator: Emagreceu = Ficou foda KKKKK. A luta do Sasuke contra o Naruto tem um ritmo bem ruim, além da animação ser muito feia.
