A magical world where every 15-year-old is given a Grimoire, a book containing spells and enhances the wielders natural magical talents, and the kingdom is protected by the best of the best magical users. This is the world of Black Clover! The Clover Kingdom is home to many different forms of magic with a huge variety of skill and power. The kingdom itself is divided into three sections: The Noble, think the most stuck up elitist country club you can think of. The Common section, the are of the nation where most of the people who idolize royalty and their powers. And the Forsaken section, in the anime’s own words this is where the common folk live. The Noble area is in the middle of the nation and the common area surrounds it and the Forsaken surrounds both. It’s in the Forsaken area that the series starts. In small town with a run-down church and a demon’s skull on the horizon. We find out our two protagonists were left as infants at this rundown church to be raised by the priest. Even as infants there are extremes in their personalities. Yuno is the quieter and more reserved of the two and Asta is the loud mouthed, heart on his sleeve buffoon. As the two infants grow up these personality traits are just one of the reasons that Asta and Yuno are treated so differently. As a theme perception and how people are treated based on that runs very strongly through the entire series. The nobility and royalty as a whole look down on anyone that wasn’t lucky enough to be born into one of their families. Folks that live in the common area understand their place, and because of that never let any one under them forget. The common folk are farmers, trades people, or labourers and as their magic is a drop in the ocean compared to noble magic power, Commoners are often treated as animals. Asta and Yuno are on opposite ends of the magical power scale. Yuno is seen to be a genius level mage that can rival royals. Asta on the other hand can’t manage a basic spell. When it comes time to get their grimoires the two go to a nearby town where there is a ceremony in a library for all the 15-year-olds in the area. Yuno is chosen by an especially powerful grimoire which prompts a couple of noble kids to voice their distain for this low-born scum getting such a powerful Grimoire. Their views on Commoners are only exemplified when Asta is left standing with open arms and no Grimoire, which is essentially unheard of. Asta doesn’t let much get in his way to become the Wizard King, the most powerful mage in the entire clover kingdom only second in authority to the king of the nation, so even though he doesn’t get his own Grimoire he still shouts to everyone that will listen that he will be Wizard King. He does it so much that it gets a little old. Black Clover has more than a few things in common with Shonen Jump’s massive series Naruto, and Asta’s entire personality seems cloned from Naruto and than had the volume turned up. It’s not an entirely negative point though. There’s a reason Naruto as a series did so well for 15 years, and Naruto Uzumaki’s determination and sincerity was always a bright point of the series. Asta has the best and most annoying qualities of Naruto, but it’s almost always perfectly balanced by the supporting cast. Yuno is Asta’s rival from day one, and although there are more than a few comparisons to be made about Yuno and Asta vs. Naruto and Sasuke, the most refreshing aspect of Yuno and Asta’s relationship is that they aren’t begrudging rivals. Instead they are brothers that always push each other harder to achieve their dream: To be the Wizard King, and protect everyone they love. These two orphaned boys from one of the smallest villages want to become Wizard King and although they know nobility will more than likely have more power and have more chances to sit on the throne the only person that made stand in their way is each other. From episode 1-to-50 no matter their challenges they have faith the other will pull through because neither of them will let the other get ahead. It’s the relationships that set this anime apart. They aren’t particularly nuanced or complicated. Many of the characters have become jaded due to one thing or another in their lives, but coming across Asta reignites their passions. Asta’s determination and confidence starts to seep into the insecure people around them pushing them to new levels of strength. Even Yuno changes expectations every time he makes a move. The production values don’t start super high in the first 10 episodes. Background characters don’t have faces drawn in, the landscapes are basic fields with a few trees, and buildings are basic rectangles with little detail. This was to make it cheaper and most likely easier to animate in the beginning before the series proved its legs. There is a marked difference by the time the 15th episode rolls around. More varied character designs, fight scene become incredible frenetic and exciting, and city scenes become incredibly unique and lively. It’s worth paying attention to the details just to see how interest in a series can really change how it looks. Black Clover is setting up for a long run as an anime. By episode 50 the most we know as the viewer is the name of the enemies. We don’t know why they’re doing what they’re doing, where they came from, who works for them, or even what their ultimate power is. Not to mention the secret surrounding Asta’s mysterious power and Yuno’s unique Grimoire. The pace isn’t even that slow! An arc of two or three episodes will end with some wind down, but more often than not we’re already getting hints of what the next mission/adventure will be. The series is available to episode 48 dubbed in English and up to episode 50 Sub-titled (as of writing this on September 25, 2018). The English voice over is quite good: The actors are enthusiastic and give lots of energy, but have a good handle on the quieter intimate moments. There are a few characters that stand out in a bad way because they sound more cartoonish than most, looking at you Nash. More than likely this is an issue that crept up due to the pool of talent available. It may have been as simple as taking anyone available for a character with only a few lines of dialogue, or a voice actor who does lines for a main character may need to change their voice a lot to make sure there isn’t any sound a like. Black Clover is an entirely enjoyable anime with a lot of energy and flash! It isn’t completely unique taking inspiration from some magnificent series like Naruto, Dragon Ball, and Berserk with some great success, but there are times that they aren’t inspirations but crutches for the series to lean on. The real secret to the series is even though there is a clear main character, Asta is more a catalyst to make things happen in the world and not the only being that can make the things happen. If you enjoy a sincere, exciting, adventure anime with characters wielding unique magic, then Black Clover is for you!
While Black Clover is a rather great shonen and good manga, the adaptation takes away from the value, animation mainly. The animation team, which is pierrot, is known for pretty mediocre adaptations. The format they chose for the adaptation is a weekly format, which won't necessarily stop until either cancelled or the part of the series they're covering ends for a while, much like Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. This format isn't necessarily good because it doesn't allow for more time to be spent on animation like a seasonal adaptation does. Take My Hero Academia for example, because the anime is seasonal, Studio Bones not only has enough time to focus on other series once it's done, but it also allows for the animation to be in greater production value for when the adaptation is scheduled to air again, but with the weekly format it cause tons of problems. Such as the need to outsource to other studios which sometimes could be beneficial and other times end up making the animation look like, for lack of better words, complete dogshit. Now i'm not saying the adaptation is completely bad, it has it's high points, but those high points are over shadowed by the amount of low points. The pacing was made to be slower then the mangas(i.e the first couple episodes)so while the manga would be fast at covering the events, the pacing in the anime is often slower and may or may not add filler. One thing i also won't to nitpick is episode 63, which is also the episode where Asta and Ladros fought. The episode was phenomenal in my opinion, it had ambition and great animation effort. Where it fell flat however, lies within the amount of time they had to work on it, the episode was rushed and there were many things unfinished due to the lack of in-house animators and Yoshihara having to use his special connections to push out a rather ambitious episode, the ambitious vision Tatsuya Yoshihara had wasn't able to be completely realized due to pierrot's lack of concern for the BC team, i don't know if i should phrase it like that but that's how it is just about, Pierrot has too much going on right now and in my opinion should switch to a seasonal format for it's adaptations rather than long running, it helps out with animation effort and production value and quality. It makes sure animators aren't overworked and have enough time to work on each episode accordingly, and makes sure the manga keeps a good distance from the more recent chapters so we don't get 100+ filler episodes just to finish 1 arc, that is a problem that Naruto Shippuden suffered from greatly from during the Fourth Great Ninja War. Now i won't lie, this adaptation has a ton of negatives but don't let that deter you from a rather great series, it does have it's really well animated episodes, such as 1, 2, 4, 17, 34-35 49, 63(in my opinion), 80-84, and the more recent 91 that aired today. Is the adaptation bad? It has it's downpoints but isn't entirely bad, is it good? It takes a while to get used to the bad animation but becomes tolerable once used to it, i just want new fans going in with what to expect, or to read the manga instead. Hopefully this long ass essay helps any newer fans. Please correct some of my points if any of you find something to be false or disagree with it. Just know that bad animation shouldn't deter any of you from an otherwise good series.
I got to say Black Clover Ep. 93 was awesome. I wish most of the anime would have been like/similar to this but eh, I'm no the one making the anime. There were other episodes like this tho. I believe the story and the world are really great. The animation is off and on; sometimes it's really bad and sometimes its really good, but for the most part its alright. The visuals are good to me, the scenery and character design are good as well. I would say the main problem for me in the entire show is probably the characters themselves. Don't get me wrong, they all have good character development but its their usual personality thats off-putting especially recently. Asta is like Naruto but annoying and less likable. They have a similar backstory, goal and personality, but Asta is just a worse version. Asta passes the trials he goes through way too easily. The time he could lost the use of his arms forever by a curse, he instantly brightened his personality with no one's help or guidance and claimed that he will never have the thought of giving up again (I know this was a deep moment in the manga but in the anime it wasn't) and when he awakened his powers and wasn't comsumed by the power because of that same ideology was fitting since he already conquered that never giving up mentality, but it was still too easy for that to happen when overcoming a strong presence such as that with mentality (but again I don't really know what that presence was for sure). I know Asta went through depression and sense of failure that one time in the beginning when he didn't receive his grimoire yet and he completely gave up, but that's the only time he seemed to be completely lost and it was really short. It wasn't enough of time to get the feeling of strong sympathy for him when it lasted less than a day. Yuno is a character who's trying to be cool (maybe a Sasuke to a Naruto type of thing) but his character development isn't that great and tbh its kind of dull. We haven't seen much of his struggles or efforts in getting stronger, but when we do see it, it looks like he gets instantly more powerful without any signs of how and when the fuck did that happen? It's the same with his desire in becoming the Wizard King which barely shows compared to Asta who explodes with it. It's like Yuno is only the pressure and motivation for Asta to be become the Wizard King and he isn't actually aiming for it or if Asta doen't get it, he's just the backup. Isn't he suppose to be the second protaganist or was he just the sidekick character who's just a close friend and rival to the MC? Noelle isn't a good tsundere; in fact it's a bit annoying and lame when she acts like that. It's obvious she likes him, I think everyone else knows. but doesn't say anything except the oblivious MC like always. Charlotte is a way better tsundere since, she doesn't show she likes Yami that much, but you can tell by her actions like the one time at the festival. Even Vanessa could tell she was a rival because of her womanly instincts. The rest of the character are fine, some are great but Asta and Yuno have some personality issues that make them not-so-great of a main cast (Noelle is just a bad tsundere, but she alright besides that).
__Introduction: __ People really don’t give Black Clover enough credit. Sure, it may have some typical Shounen tropes and that made a lot of people give up on it early on, but that unoriginality is precisely what makes it so special. It takes the best aspects of every show that came before it and executes those tropes better than any of its predecessors ever did. Once the story picks up, the fun basically never stops. The show is constantly progressing and escalating. I thought I would lose interest at some point, but Black Clover just keeps one-upping itself and only gets better as time goes on. Unlike most Shounen anime, it has complex philosophical themes, heavy symbolism, and great antagonists. Everything is so well done that I can’t help but love it. ____ img800(https://i.ibb.co/YhqJkm3/asta-and-yuno-3.jpg) __Synopsis: __ The story follows Asta, along with his childhood friend, Yuno, who were both raised in an orphanage in a backwater village deep within the forsaken realm of the Clover Kingdom, after being abandoned at its doorstep as newborn children. From a young age, they both dream of becoming the Wizard King, the strongest mage and the defacto leader of the nation. Unfortunately, the Clover Kingdom is also plagued with corruption and discrimination. For the most part, the nobles are arrogant, classist, and elitist, only using their high magical power as a means to further their agendas and harass the people beneath them. Since the boys are both commoners, they will have to fight an uphill battle for the rest of their lives if they intend to make their dreams a reality. ____ img800(https://i.ibb.co/NZ7Cw6s/clover.png) __World-Building: __ The world-building in the show is rather complicated to explain. I’m guessing the best place to start is the power system. Every person is born with a magical attribute and some people have more mana to work with than others. You can’t change the magic you’re born with, but you can definitely master it and make it your own. There are four primary types: Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. Almost all types of magic derive from one of those categories in some way or another, like Steel originates from Earth, Lightning originates from Fire, etc. However, there are some irregular types of magic that don’t necessarily fit in with the others, like Light, Dark, Spatial, and even Time. The point is anything can be controlled by magic and a mage can sharpen their skills by obtaining a grimoire. Grimoires are essentially spell books that choose its master. Everybody gets one at some point in their life. The grimoires grow with the mage they are contracted to and can cause a mage’s magic to take various shapes based on personality and life experiences. For example, Finral and Langris are brothers with the same magical attribute, Spatial Magic. They both belong to the famed noble house Vaude. Finral was a kind-hearted boy that refused to use his power to hurt others and was never interested in combat training, therefore disgracing his family, and was ultimately disowned. On the other hand, his brother Langris was the exact opposite and looked down on everybody, seeing others as nothing more than insects. He was put on a pedestal by his parents and appointed the next head of the house. It was because of this distinction that their grimoires manifested their magic in different ways. Finral’s spells focus on transporting people and objects to other locations safely, whereas Langris’ spells primarily focus on erasing space itself, obliterating anything that stands in his way. On an unrelated note, Asta’s magic type is the most irregular type of them all. Simply put, it’s called Anti-Magic. Its true origin is unknown, other than the fact that it’s granted to him by a mysterious devil that resides in his grimoire. His anti-magic manifests itself in the form of swords that nullify any magic type on impact. In opposition to the devils, there are also four divine spirits that are considered the embodiment of the four primary magic types I talked about earlier: Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. Yuno was also chosen by the wind spirit Sylph towards the beginning of the story. As far as the rest of the world goes, there are also other species besides humans and other nations besides the Clover Kingdom, but that doesn’t really get addressed until much later in the story and I can’t talk about everything without writing a novel. ____ img800(https://i.ibb.co/2n7sPXY/asta-and-yuno-2.jpg) __Rivalry: __ You could say Asta and Yuno are two halves of a whole. Asta was a boy without magic in a world where magic is everything, whereas Yuno’s magical power was always on par with even some royals. Asta gains the power of a devil, while Yuno gains the powers of a spirit. Asta gets accepted into the worst magic knights’ squad and Yuno gets accepted into the best. They are polar opposites, but it’s not like your typical underdog protagonist and prodigy rival character relationship. Yuno doesn’t antagonize or belittle Asta. They have a relationship that can be considered that of a competitive friendship for the entirety of the show. They share the same past, values, and ambitions, and they have an undying trust and respect for one another. They build each other up, rather than constantly breaking each other down. It's a healthy rivalry you don't usually see in anime. It's easily one of the biggest stand-outs of the show. ____ img800(https://i.ibb.co/kcWGHmD/scumbags.png) __Symbolism: __ While everyone is born with the ability to utilize mana in the form of magical power, commoners have far less than nobility and are often harassed or even killed as a result. Unknown to most of the world, there’s a truly morbid reasoning behind this. You see, centuries ago, there was a peaceful tribe of elves that resided in the Clover Kingdom, whose magical power was so immense, it was thought that they were chosen by mana itself. Some humans even worshipped them like gods. However, the human royalty had a deep-seated envy and hatred for their species, which allowed them to be manipulated by a certain devil into massacring the elves at a wedding ceremony and stealing all of the elves' mana for themselves. Now, if you take a second to think about what’s going on, you might notice something. The elves are a people that are “chosen by mana”, symbolic of a people “chosen by God”. The event is clearly symbolic of the Siege of Jerusalem, with the elves representing the Israelites and the humans representing the Romans who invaded the land and massacred them. This is further supported by the fact that when the elves are resurrected in the modern-day Clover Kingdom, their revenge plot involves a monument matching the description of the Tree of Life, representing the ten attributes of God, and that two of the major characters from the human side are named after Roman emperors: Nero and Julius. Of course, this isn’t the only example of symbolism in the show. Black Clover also incorporates different religions, some literature, and even various types of mythology into later story arcs. ____ img800(https://i.ibb.co/FKqrKrX/black-bulls.jpg) __Character Development: __ Sometime after the massacre, the royal family branched off into three separate houses: Silva, Vermillion, and Kira. Noelle, one of Asta’s best friends, is from House Silva. Despite her lineage, her upbringing was anything but pleasant. Her capacity for mana was abnormally high, far more than any child can properly endure. As a result, she was never able to control her magic, and this only worsened under the constant emotional abuse from everyone around her. She was looked down on her entire life like Asta was and even tormented by her own siblings, until she was eventually disowned by them for making the family look bad. However, after rigorous training and her relationship with Asta, she’s able to accept and overcome her shortcomings and eventually became one of the strongest mages in the kingdom, even outclassing the people that used to belittle her. She’s a phenomenally written character and there are plenty more like her in the show, especially amongst Asta’s comrades at the Black Bulls, the magic knights squad that recruited him at the beginning of the story. The Black Bulls is widely considered to be the worst of the worst magic knights squad. They're pretty much the practical joke of the Clover Kingdom. This is due to the fact that, despite while having a solid roster of mages at their disposal, they tend to cause more problems than they solve and they aren’t exactly the people you’d typically see in the magic knights. They’re reckless, lazy, and sometimes just plain stupid, but they’re lovable, nonetheless. First, there’s Asta, who’s undeniably the backbone for the entire group. His fearlessness and persistence manufacture a deadly combination and he motivates his peers to surpass their personal limitations, just like he did with Noelle. The rest of the squad consists of: Luck – a battle addict, Magna – a street punk, Charmy – a glutton, Vanessa – an alcoholic, Finral – a womanizer, Gauche – an ex-convict, and there’s Gordon and Grey, who are both crippling introverts. There are also four more members that are introduced later on. Then, there’s the captain. Yami is basically the physical embodiment of masculinity. This man makes alphas look like betas, but underneath his tough exterior is a man who’ll go to war for any of his subordinates. He's like a retired Shounen protagonist that has already been through all of his adventures and decided to take over the mentor role for the next generation of magic knights. Anyway, I'm not gonna go over each character's arc, because that would make this a million times longer than it has to be, but as you can see, each member has a different background and personality, not to mention magical power. On their own, it may seem as though nobody stands out, but they’re simply amazing when they all come together. Seeing their growth not only as individuals, but as a team is truly fascinating to watch. ____ __Conclusion: __ All in all, Black Clover is a masterfully written show. Is it relatively mediocre at the beginning? Absolutely, but after watching the entirety of the first saga, it’s obvious why it needed to be that way. There's tons of set-up for some huge payoffs. Black Clover as a show is basically like Asta as a character. People assume it will be bad, so they slander it relentlessly. The show really had to fight for the recognition it has today. It kind of reminds me of Attack on Titan in that regard. The story and world-building are on another level, and it has an entire cast of characters that I actually love to spend time with. Also, the fights and the music are amazing. I never thought I’d say this about a Shounen, but hell, there's been one filler arc so far, and not only was that arc great, but it actually enhanced the story that much more. I honestly don't know how they do it. All I have to say is: don't go into Black Clover expecting it to reinvent the wheel, because it won't. It'll definitely take you for a fun ride though. It's literally Shounen junk food and doesn't attempt to become anything more than that until the end of the first series. All in all, if you have the patience to watch this show, do it. It’s more than worthy of your time.
We used to have Big 3 when it comes to anime including shows like Naruto, One piece, and Dragonball. Throw Fairytail in there also. Now as those shows are going away we look to replace them and this show was supposed to be one of those shows hyped to the point it crashed streaming websites when it released. The thing is all this show has are the bad parts of the Big 3. The story also wants to be compared to them and since it is I'm going to compare them here. The story is about a boy who can't use magic but through some stroke of determination and luck gets a powerful magic only he can use. I purposely manipulating this to sound like Boku no hero academia. Both main characters don't have something commonplace in this world just to get one of the strongest options somehow. Now we can compare it to Naruto, where all they did was replace Hokage with Wizard King as that is our main characters main goal to be the one over them all. Then you have Fairytail's magic elements on top of the fact he basically joined the Fairytail guild and yada yada yada. You have probably had these comparisons drilled into your head by now. All you need to know is this show doesn't do any of things nearly as well as the others except for maybe Fairytail that one is being debated by everyone. And before I move on when the second episode is filler that tells you this show isn't going to have good things to come. The pacing of the show is horrendous as it starts off super slow then starts moving very quickly and slows down again. They even negate some things turning some episodes into nothing but filler that added nothing to the characters development. (No saying it won't make you like a character more or not but objectively it adds nothing.) The art is good. I don't love it but it's not bad at all the magic looks really good but that's the only thing I really like about it everything else I find around meh. The music is all that special to me either. No songs still out to me as good or bad because I can't even remember them as it really isn't anything special. But there is one thing that I will get into with characters. The japanese voice actors are perfectly cast and that's not exactly a good thing. ( more on that later.) Time to let loose the characters. Asta is the main character of this story and like I said before he can't use magic but you need magic to pretty much do anything in this world as people without it are unheard of except for him. Honestly, all he knows how to do is scream at the top of his lungs I mean listening to him makes me want to blow my brains out. This makes Dragonball look tame and people joke about that all the time. You might grow numb to his voice over time or you might not, either way, you might want to seek out the dub instead. But he is determined although he can't use magic he trains his heart out all day working on his physical abilities and ends up with a grimoire something signifying magic in this world. But his is special as these books all have clovers 1-4 usually 4 being very impressive but our magicless protagonist gets a 5 leaf which means he as the power of the devil or something like that which lets him use a huge sword like another story we know that cuts down magic and negates it completely. Overall his character is super annoying and his ability just leaves me bored as this isn't the first useless main character is actually useful story and I would rather watch any one of those at this point. The other main character I'm going to go over is our token overpower rival character Sauske... sorry I mean Gray, No Yuno, yeah Yuno. Yuno gets a 4 leaf is naturally good at magic and our main character uses him as a motivation get stronger. He is a rather emotionless character that looks up to Asta determination because he saved him this one time. I'm just going to cut it there and say this character means nothing to me. The side characters (guild members.) can be very similar to fairytail, We have a chick that drinks a lot and wears rather lewd clothing like kana. a overbearing and energetic character like natsu. a powerful and serious like gildarts occasionally can be, etc. Overall, unless you love shonen anime do not touch this with a ten-foot pole. Watch the shows this wants to replace instead at least you don't have to wait for new episodes. and you have watched them watch them again. This show has nothing redeemable so far maybe it will and I'm going to keep watching because I'm shonen trash. But so far this is a complete garbage can of a show. I'm not saying you can't enjoy this but it's really not good.
__Since Black Clover is coming to an end as we all know. I thought it would be appropriate to finally make a review on this long running Shonen. So watch out as there are lots of spoilers here.__ The story follows the life of Asta, a boy born magic less in a world where having it means everything. Throughout the story, the creator pushes the meaning of never giving up. As Asta makes up for his lack of magic by training his body and getting stronger. Although the odds were against him, he aimed to be the wizard king. Not to have a high title, but because it is a one that he needs in order to accomplish his goals. To end racism, classism, and discrimination against those in lower realms that deal with it on a daily basis. Throughout the anime you probably can notice many flaws in production. Such as the bad animation that has lead to it being one of the most prominent reasons for people hating on it. Along with the over the top yelling that Asta did in almost all of his scenes. It's notable to note that at the time Asta's voice actor was fairly new and that it did get better as the anime progressed. Putting these flaws aside, Black Clover is an actual decent anime. Sure there are bad animation moments from time to time, but when it counts it's good. When looking in deeper to the production. Since it is weekly there's not alot of time for staff to work on it, and the scheduling isn't the best. Given more time to work on episodes would be a major turning point for the anime. As for story wise, some could argue that it is a Naruto clone, which also has been a big problem. While the anime does indeed take some parts from other animes/mangas, the way it gets executed is different along with the way it builds itself from the ground up. Black Clover has some of the arguably best characters in terms of the way that they're written. They all are written with meaning & have amazing character development. The Black Bulls all being perfect examples. With Noelle going from a stuck up loner royal persona, to being very strong willed and confident in herself & squad. Grey breaking slowly out of her shell and finding ways to incorporate herself into being useful. Most importantly Finral, someone who would dread doing any work and would be scared and timid during fights. Turned into a reliable support character, that even went on to work on offensive spells that he would then use in the mock battle again his brother. I could sit here and go on & on about the other characters and how their development/growth impacted the story, but I don't have the time nor want to turn this into a character discussion. The foreshadowing is also something to take note of. The story obviously wasn't just put together as it went along. Moments from it's first arc all the way up to the Midnight Sun Arc all came together to build one of the best plot twist. When the story is set up we get introduced to some long running and reoccurring characters. Skipping on later into the arc, we see Litch or so we thought. It was actually Patry who took on his leader's persona to enact revenge on the humans who so heartlessly massacred a whole race, basically genocide. With this, it was his driving force to build up followers to one day do the same thing the humans and punish them. As this all goes one we encounter the wizard kings death which was a very unexpected thing, but he was later brought back and needed. Which I guess was for the whole Dark Triad Arc to occur. Moving on to the near end of the arc, right when we think it's all about to end, we then see the devil. Or otherwise know as Zagred. Here we all see this was a calculated plan. One made by the sealed devil in order to free himself to once again. The devil had caused fear within the humans and made them believe that the elves were something to be feared. That they would attack when given the chance to. This didn't help with the case that Elves were loved by mana, which humans weren't exactly the same in that case. Leaving already pent up resentment to be exposed, giving them a reason to act. Using the wizard king's invention to neutralize their magic, they massacred them. Which lead the soul surviving soul Patry to go on believing it was the humans who betrayed them, most importantly the wizard king as it was "his" light magic. This then leads to him finding himself in William as both shared the same wavelength, and then it all worked out in the devil's favor from then on. The biggest plot twist in this show was definitely finding out that it all was an orchestrated plan from 500 years ago. Going on to filler wise, the filler is actually decent even throughout a whole arc of nothing but it. Sure it wasn't the best one of the series or anything grand. It was just an average one that actually correlated to story and gave more background on the aftermath after the big fight from the last arc. So are you missing much if you skipped it, no not much. Anyways with the current arc, it's obvious they're pulling out all the stops. We are getting some of the best animation yet, in a arc where fights occur back to back. It could possibly be one of the best and biggest Black Clover arc depending on were it ends. The fact that Black Clover is among some of the top anime shows that people really like it, sure popularity doesn't mean good. It's just that when taking a look into the characters & arcs, you see that it is deserving of the praise it gets. During this new arc, if you've read the manga you might feel that it all is getting adapted far too quickly. It's important to know that during these certain parts of the arc the manga was only 15 pages per chapter. With most of them containing back to back fight scenes. So far the new arc introduced the new characters and a very good pace, and has even offered a bit more backstory to parts that weren't explain in dept in the manga. Especially with the episodes leading up to Asta & Yami vs Dante, which is one most well animated fights. All having decent animation with no lack to detail. Well the background art was lacking, but the plot & story wise it's all moving quite good at it's pace. At the time of this review only 3 episodes remain, but it's safe to say it's going to end on a high note. I'll update this review if this turns out to not be the case. The horrible animation was something of the past in Black Clover. Animation has went up alot compared to what it used to be and staff are working hard to make these last few good. While I do think it's important to critique an anime or show based on it's contents. It's also important to praise a good staff that works hard throughout odd scheduling to give us something decent. Which honestly looks good considering the production situation. So in all with the final thoughts. It gets an 8.8 in overall adaption. It stays true to the manga & pulls through in moments when needed. It's definitely enjoyable if you're in it for a good story with fun enjoyable characters. Just don't go expecting some outstanding animation & a perfect anime. It has it's flaws but nothing too major to turn anyone away if you've made it through the first 15 episodes. Throughout it all for me personally it's among my favorites, but judging from an unbiased stand point I have to acknowledge what it does bad and what it does wrong. __Updated Review After The Last Episode__ After watching the last episode it was pretty reminiscent as this was the show that I watched every Tuesday for years. I didn't want to make this biased, but I bumped it up a few points due to personal opinions. The last episode really captured the show as a whole, and represented & showed all the things Asta learned throughout his time as a magic knight. Even the ending with the extended version of the ED was the cherry on top. Seeing these characters all at the end provide a since of wow, this is how it all came up though the years. So truly in all, although it's not a perfect show, or has the best animation. It is a show full of enjoyable moments, characters, and a nice community. Just to note, my score isn't based off feelings alone, I just bumped it up by .8 from the original 8.0. I hope this makes out as a good final review, and maybe one day if it returns. I'll definitely make another one. ~~~img220(https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/710573394004803644/826415552247496734/Screenshot_20210330-065915_.png)~~~ ~~I only posted this cause I'm bored, and don't feel like recording it~~
Black Clover is underrated. It got a lot of hate it didn't deserve. People often drop it early on because it's unoriginal and has all the clichés of shounen anime that you can think of. But the show executes the shounen tropes so well that it constantly gets better. This anime surely deserves all the praise and hype that it gets now. #Story: img220(https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/blackclover/images/8/81/The_promise.png/revision/latest?cb=20171010175510) The story follows Asta and his childhood friend/ rival Yuno who live in a small village in the Clover Kingdom. In this world everyone has magic except our main protagonist Asta. However Yuno is very talented at using magic. They both dream of becoming the Wizard King not to be in a high position in the kingdom but to erase all the discrimation commited against commoners like them. I really like their motivation to become Wizard King because it's a very noble motivation not like other shonen heroes. At their 15th birthday Asta and Yuno recieve grimoires(magic books that have spells in them),the normal grimoire has three leafs on its clover each of the leaves symbolize faith,hope and love. Yuno recieves recieves the rarest grimoire: The four leaf clover grimoire that symbolizes good luck. But Asta recieves a five leaf clover grimoire that symbolizes a Devil and he recieves the power of anti magic. I think the story is very interesting and there is a lot of elements that add to it like the variety of the types of magic and the incredible plot twists in the Reincarnation Arc which is surely my favourite arc in this anime: It has the best fights, the vilains have really interesting ideologies so you never know who is right and who is wrong and this arc has many emotional moments #Rating:90/100 #Characters: img220(https://fr.techtribune.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/List-of-the-Strongest-Black-Clover-Magic-Knights-in-the-clover-kingdom.jpg) The characters in black clover are very well written. Let's take some of the Black Bulls(Asta's Squad) for example: Asta is one of my favourite shonen protagonists he has a noble goal and a strong sense of justice,he really never gives up wich makes him very stubborn. He often recieves cruel insults from almost every noble since he is a commoner and has no magic but he brushes them off without getting annoyed but he gets angry when someone deeply insults his comrades. img220(https://mangathrill.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/adafff.jpg) Noelle is a royal from the house of Silva. Her character development is incredible, she's a royal so she can seem arrogant and she has difficulty in admitting her mistakes. However, due to having been rejected by her own family who had noticed her lack of control over her Magic Power, Noelle developed a slight inferiority complex to her brothers and sister. But because of the Black Bulls' influence especially Asta's, Noelle slowly began to have more confidence in herself to the point where she started controlling her magic, learned many new strong spells and she finally had the courage to face off against her own brother Solid and won img220(https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/633/239/429.png) Then there's Luck,my favorite character. Luck has a sociopathic personality where he doesnt' seem to be able to show any expressions but joy. He also loves fighting and defeating his opponents. He can even suggest on putting his opponent into a near death condition without losing his smiles, which earned him the nickname Smiling Battle Maniac. Luck also has an obsession over victory against his opponent without any outside assistance, which stems from his promise to his late mother. But after joining the ranks of the Black Bull for sometime and his encounter with Asta, Luck begins to be able to work as a team alongside his comrades. img220(https://news.otakukart.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Black-Clover-Chapter-248.jpg) Then there's the captain Yami. He is a powerful and Magic Knight who was able to recognize Asta's merits when none of the other Captains would give him a chance because he doesnt' have any magic. He does not discriminate people according to their social status.Yami also loves intimidating his opponents whether he uses threatening words or physically harms his target img220(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EiH0L0zU0BI59Yz.jpg) #Rating:99:100 #Enjoyement: One thing that makes Black clover way more enjoyable is the pacing,it's one of the most bingeable animes you can watch 20 episodes in a row and not get bored. Plus, the comedy in this show is really funny. I really enjoyed this anime. The music is also very good wether it's the OST's, the openings or the endings. #Rating:99/100 Overall,it's a really good and enjoyable show with a good story and well written characters. I would recommend this to everyone who loves shonen #Overall Rating:97/100 Thanks for reading, I hope you liked my first anime review
I'm just gonna put it out there, Black Clover is a criminally underrated masterpiece. I heard people
say before that it's "just another typical shounen" and they are right to some extent. But what Black
Clover does is that it takes all the good stuff from other shounen anime and makes it 10x better (Ok
maybe not 10x but its still good) I understand that it could take a bit of time to get into the show
because of its inconsistent animation but once you start getting into the show there's no turning
back.

__PLOT__:
The main characters, Asta and Yuno are two orphans who are abandoned at a poor church in Hage Village
in the Clover Kingdom, both of them are raised together by Sister Lily and Father Orsi along with many
other children. Asta and Yuno both aim to be strong and become the Magic Emperor and protect the
people of the Clover Kingdom. Already the plot sounds like some typical shounen anime like the main
character wants to be the strongest and become a certain symbol, but trust me, the way it all unfolds
is truly amazing.
___
__Characters__:
Okay so now on the strong suit of Black Clover. I feel like all the characters in Black Clover are
really interesting and have a lot of personality and depth, especially all the characters from Black
Bulls. I personally really like Asta, Yami, Zora, Finral, Noelle and Nero. Every character in this
show has been written really well and you never feel like a character is one dimensional or lacking
any personality. I'm not gonna go into why I like these characters so much because I wanna keep this
as spoiler free as I can.
___
__World Building__:
Okay actually this is the real strong suit of the show. The Black Clover world has been divided into 4
kingdoms. The Clover Kingdom, The Spade Kingdom, The Diamond Kingdom and The Heart Kingdom. Each
kingdom is very unique and all of them have there own unique characters. All the kingdoms feel very
alive and brimming with life. (ahem, welp except spade kingdom)
___
__Final Thoughts:__
Should you watch Black Clover? Absolutely. It might feel very boring and uninteresting at the
beginning, but keep watching and trust me, its worth the wait. I know I left out the power system in
this review but I feel like you should watch the show to fully understand it and get a feel for it.
(totally not because I have no idea on how to explain it)
If you want to know in a nutshell if it's worth watching the anime: Just don't! If you want to read the long version, you can expect a little bashing. This anime is a collection of loud stereotypes of the fighting shounen genre. Without wanting to exaggerate, the story and characters seem to me as if they were conceived within a few minutes. Nothing new is offered. The most successful fighting shounen have managed to stand out from other series by developing their own identity. Black Clover doesn't manage to do that. The successful formulas of these anime are rather copied - only in a bad way. Particularly noticeable are the similarities to Fairy Tail, mixed with a bit of Naruto. The story is about Asta, who has set his sights on becoming the Wizard King, even though he has no magical powers. This is already strongly reminiscent of Luffy from One Piece, who wants to become the Pirate King, or Naruto's rocky path to the Hokage. His friend and rival, the highly talented Yuno, has the same goal. Their relationship bears similarities to Naruto and Sasuke and Natsu and Gray from Fairy Tail, respectively, though Asta and Yuno have a much friendlier way of dealing with each other, which at least adds a bit of originality to the proceedings. How Asta will manage to reach his goal without knowing magic himself? He seems to have a demon inside him, which makes him special. Naruto's Kyūbi and Kurosaki Ichigo's Hollow send their regards. As for the setting, it could hardly have been closer to Fairy Tail. Whether you need another fighting shounen set in a world where magic is central? I don't. At least not when the implementation is as bad as it is here. The protagonists and antagonists are - as you might expect - divided into groups. The good guys belong to the Wizard Knights, the bad guys to a formation called the White Night Eye. The Wizard Knights are divided into several squads. You want to avoid the word "guild" from Fairy Tail. Asta belongs to the Black Bull Squad, which contains the biggest troublemakers of the Wizard Knights. Yuno belongs to the privileged Golden Dawn Squad. What really makes the anime bad are the characters. I'll even go so far as to say that I've hardly seen an anime that has worse characters to offer; especially considering the large episode count in which it would have been possible to let the characters develop. Asta is just screaming around and seems more like a parody of Naruto and Natsu. And he really is always yelling around, not just during fights. He's always yelling the same thing, too. I can't believe his "Mada da! Mada mada!" (translated: "Not yet! I'm not done yet!") anymore. Yuno is one of the few characters who are normal and don't get on your nerves, even if he seems a bit pale in this bunch of clowns. Worst of all, though, are the supporting characters. These each have a certain quirk that the whole personality is built around. As an example, I'll take Asta's teammates from the Black Bull Squad. Gordon Agrippa speaks so softly that you can barely understand him. That's it. That's all I can say about him. And that's after 51 episodes. And this gag is repeated ad nauseam every time he appears on screen. And not just with him, but with all the other supporting characters as well. Even worse is Grey, who has a cool character design but didn't say or do anything for the first 40 episodes. There was a bit of a surprise later on, but it didn't impress me much and didn't really further his character development because nothing more was said about it and it didn't even seem to interest his squad mates. Charmy Papittoson, on the other hand, only thinks about food. I think Gauche Adlai is particularly bad, taking the term "siscon" to a new level. Not only is he constantly thinking about his little sister - which makes him just as one-dimensional as all the other characters - but he also gets nosebleeds, which is usually a sign of sexual stimulation in anime. Here, for some, a certain line might have already been crossed. For me, one of the most unsympathetic and annoying characters ever. After all, the past of him and his little sister was dealt with. And that within two minutes. That did little to really get to know him well and develop understanding for his quirk. One Piece, for example, did a much better job of that. There, a separate arc was dedicated to each member of the Straw Hat Gang. What's more annoying are certain accents, dialects, phrases and standard words or phrases that certain characters keep uttering. An example of this would be Sekke Bronzazza, who can't help but annoy you with his "Fuhha!" (or "Buh Ha!", depending on the translation). You get the feeling that these flat characters are talking puppets, rattling off their tiny repertoire as soon as you pull the string attached to their backs. There is, however, one tiny ray of light in this black hole of poor character design: coincidentally, I'm talking about a character named "Light." He is the boss of White Night Eye. Completely left cold at first, there seems to be more to him than meets the eye. In general, I like the villains a bit better than the heroes. Another minus point is the below average drawing style or rather the lousy animations. I even have the feeling that the drawing style got worse and worse. It's as if everyone involved had no motivation left to put just a little bit of effort into this lousy anime. At times, they didn't even manage to draw the eyes so that they would look straight ahead. It looked like they were squinting. And if one shot makes you think, "Ew," that's saying a lot. Fights are very important for a fighting shounen. However, these are also boring. But maybe these just leave me cold because the rest of the anime is disastrous and I don't care about the characters. It's not all atrocious, though. At least there is a comprehensible battle system. Once the mages have developed their skills well enough, they are given a spellbook - also called a grimoire - with a three-leaf clover on the cover. These grimoires already contain a few spells, and blank pages can be expanded with new ones. The mages master various main categories (e.g. Water Magic or Flame Magic), on which further subcategories (e.g. Creation Magic, Binding Magic or Recovery Magic) are built. Creation Magic can create a solid form, Binding Magic traps the attacked person, Recovery Magic can heal people. An example of a main category spell would be Flame Magic/Spiral Flames, which can shoot flames. Examples of the subcategories would be Water Creation Magic/Slashing Sea-Serpent - which can create a water snake out of thin air, so to speak, Water Binding Magic/Sea Serpent's Coils, which creates a snake that wraps around the enemy, or Plant Recovery Magic/Dream-Healing Flower Cradle, which conjures up a cage that can heal injured people. Unfortunately, this combat system is not very innovative and also seems to have been developed in a very short time. No comparison to the jutsus in Naruto, the Devil Fruit and Haki in One Piece, the Zanpakutōs and Hollow powers in Bleach, Nen in Hunter x Hunter, or the philosophical approaches in Tenjō Tenge. There is a bit of variety, however, thanks to Spirit Magic. Particularly talented mages have a four-leaf clover on their grimoire, which allows them to be accompanied by a spirit creature that contributes even more power. Asta even has a five-leaf clover, which is probably the reason why he carries the aforementioned demon. I'd like to elaborate on the minimalist approach I mentioned earlier, where you think the mangaka developed the entire story and all the characters during a lengthy bathroom break, with an example from the last arc. The Black Bull Squad set out to find a certain item in a particularly mysterious place. However, the design of this place was incredibly boring. The inhabitants had no particular character design or anything else about them that distinguished them from normal people. Within a few minutes, they also met the least interesting elder of the place, who would present them with the item they were looking for should they participate in a game from which they would emerge victorious. At this point I thought it was going to be exciting, but the game was interrupted shortly after it began because White Night Eye interfered. What followed was a battle that was actually quite alright. In the end, the item sort of fell into their hands out of the blue without having to do anything else. The object itself caused little stir. They simply took it, unimpressed, as if they had just bought a roll at the bakery. No scene looked as if it had been created with at least a little effort. If you want to watch a fighting shounen, there are plenty of better alternatives: e.g. Dragon Ball, Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Toriko, The Seven Deadly Sins, Boku no Hero Academia, Tenjō Tenge, Mob Psycho 100, Soul Eater or D.Gray-man. If you have already seen all of these and are looking for something new, you should give Black Clover a wide berth and continue your search. The fact that the anime has nevertheless received a well-intentioned 17/100 from me up to this point is only because I am a big fan of Fighting Shounen and therefore even this disaster could entertain me to some extent.
~~~Bueno, tengo MUCHAS cosas que decir de esta serie. Para resumir antes de explicar mi punto, este anime puede o valer totalmente la pena terminarlo, o decir ´´que mierda hice para merecerme esto?´´ . Empezando por su historia, al principio parece una mezcla de varios shounen en uno solo, como Bleach, Naruto, Berserk, Fairy Tail, etc, pero a medida que va pasando los arcos va mejorando, dando sentido a su historia, y lo mas importante, da su identidad. Los primeros capítulos me llamaron bastante, pero después se vuelve aburrida, digamos que empieza lo decente desde el Arco del Ojo de la Noche Blanca, aunque a mi me engancho desde el Arco del Bosque de las Brujas, y definitivamente si llegaste al Arco de la Reencarnación ya te logra enganchar fuerte y se empieza a cerrar muchas cosas que fueron dejando de todos los arcos anteriores, dando un porque bien explicado, y te mucha satisfacción, y obviamente en el arco actual se vuelve mas oscuro y muy bueno, con peleas y una buena construcción de villanos. Lo que me fascina es que usan a todos los personajes, no se olvidan como otros animes (Bleach, Dragon Ball Z, Boku No Hero, etc) y cada uno tiene su propia historia y desarrollo, tanto como su historia como su manera de pelear. Ahora, con el tema de la animación, punto a rescatar que siempre me gusto fueron los efectos y la paleta de colores, después lo demás tiene una calidad decepcionante, con malos dibujos y unos fps muy lento para lo estándar de un anime, pero desde el Arco de la Reencarnación la animación se vuelve mucho mejor, teniendo muy pocos momentos con mala calidad, y ni hablar de la animación del arco Heart Kingdom Joint Struggle Arc uffff es BUENISIMA, lo que debió haber sido desde un principio. Acá un ejemplo de la mala animación, y como fue mejorando: img200(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DmQXoBrVAAAoH1K.jpg) Así el 50% o 60% del tiempo en la serie hasta antes del arco de la Reencarnación. img200(https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/704892871420936275/833217856912752650/Screenshot_137.jpg) El 90% de la serie después del arco de la Reencarnación. Obviamente no puede faltar los buenos Openings y Endings que tiene esta serie: Opening decentes: Opening 1 Haruka Mirai youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW1v0QBqTOs&list=PLD7NSS9oUY0T30WaolXWoFxIHB9Z4b3Ix) Opening 5 Gamushara youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEklaDCExSQ&list=PLD7NSS9oUY0T30WaolXWoFxIHB9Z4b3Ix&index=5) Opening 7 JUSTadICE youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_fkh5VeOvI&list=PLD7NSS9oUY0T30WaolXWoFxIHB9Z4b3Ix&index=7) Opening 9 RiGHT NOW youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYUQ1Px3zPA&list=PLD7NSS9oUY0T30WaolXWoFxIHB9Z4b3Ix&index=9) Opening Obra Maestra: Opening (Chibis xD) youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkpBrNY7nAY&list=PLz1lRxE_YDAxf1sklHymaSba4WE8CExBr&index=14) Opening 3 BLACK ROVER youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsK8SsfqdHE&list=PLD7NSS9oUY0T30WaolXWoFxIHB9Z4b3Ix&index=3) Opening 10 Black Catcher youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4evV8Fr5A8U&list=PLD7NSS9oUY0T30WaolXWoFxIHB9Z4b3Ix&index=10) Opening 11 Eien ni Hikare (Everlasting Shine) youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MORpybHP4po&list=PLD7NSS9oUY0T30WaolXWoFxIHB9Z4b3Ix&index=12) Opening 13 Grandeur youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaZq6SXXNt4&list=PLD7NSS9oUY0T30WaolXWoFxIHB9Z4b3Ix&index=13) Ending decentes: Ending 1 Aoi Honoo von Itowokashi youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-ukQ1vPwDo) Ending 5 Tenjou Tenge youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnpsJHvLdIY&t=4s) Ending 7 Hana ga Saku Michi youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zYw45Bw1z8&t=4s) Ending 13 BEAUTIFUL youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SYs1Y_m7kE) Ending Obra Maestra: Ending 8 against the gods youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFZ4jcfYB60&t=40s) Ending 10 New Page youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpUjrMxBX2E) Conclusión, en mi opinión valió totalmente la pena ver este anime, empieza flojo pero a medida que se va construyendo su historia va mejorando al igual que sus peleas. Su animación es mediocre, pero en los 2 arcos importantes lo adaptan perfectamente, al nivel de Boku No Hero u otros animes de temporada. ~~~
Black Clover is truly one of the worst Shonen anime that I have ever watched, it is something that I could not recommend to anyone and I get weirded out every time someone tells me that Black Clover is one of their top anime. The anime starts off in the most cliché way possible, two brothers one is overpowered and the other has almost no power. It also shows Asta, the main character, showing a strong desire to marry the nun, which is perhaps the only original thing given to him and it's barely original. They get their magic book thing and turns out, big surprise, Asta is actually powerful with this special thing called "Anti-Magic". This is definitely something basic and already starts the anime off with a moderate taste. A good anime with magic, like Re:Zero, at least throws in some sort of originality. Even if those anime include basic things, they use it to form the structure of a story which could be amazing, similar with how Neon Genesis Evangelion introduced itself as a mech anime then proves to be something entirely different. However, literally nothing original appears in this anime and it is mostly ideas that has been present in multiple other anime. It quite literally goes downhill from this point onwards. It reaches the point where Asta arrives in this team which is full of oddballs, which I can't even fathom how unbelievably simple the plot is as it led to this. Literally every other character was made under the basis of being the most simple and unoriginal characters there are, some even being boring like Noelle. From this point, there has been little to no character development other than new powers gained, and you can't continue being interested in either Asta or Yuno because both of them are basic and boring as quite literally no character development occurs to them. At this point, it's painfully obvious how the "power of friendship" is overexaggerated in this anime, or I believe it is. By episode 80 it just becomes downright boring until it led to the final battle with the elf cult thing, and it was a 4/10. The final battle was both expected and unexpected, but really just throwing in a demon and saying this guy's a dick who had nothing to do with anything yet he just arrived out of nowhere? That introduction was extremely lame, and the battle wasn't even interesting compared to actual interesting battles. One Piece has unbelievably slow pacing but at least the battles there are actually memorable and good, and they are very exciting once you arrive to them. In Black Clover, the battle with the furry guy was the most interesting and that's only because arguably the only good character, Finral (I remembered his name because he is quite literally the only person I found interesting in the entire anime, and not even by a lot.), was actually present in the battle and it was very moderate, which is practically a compliment for this anime. By 145, it was in the midst of the Spade Kingdom arc, which is interesting but I completely gave up because I'd rather not watch this any more. It is considered the best arc in the anime, and that is such a stretch. Sure, it could be, but the only reason I can give is because they actually fucking introduced the power scale in this part. LITERALLY over 100 episodes later only to finally reveal the power scale, which is absurd. I can't recommend this anime, characters aren't interesting at all and there are so much more anime which are way better. It is boring, and the worst thing that weebs do is tell people to watch more expecting they are patient. I was extremely patient, and it only led up to my burning hatred towards this anime.
Hello anilist this is my first ever review for an anime on this site so please forgive me if the quality is not top tier. This review will not contain spoilers to the actual plot of Black Clover. Black Clover is an anime that I wanted to write a review on because it is a series that is a "love it or hate it" type show, Black Clover for many others including me was a fun show that stays true to what it is. But for others it is a basic story that has been seen many times in the past with not enough to make it stand out. I will be explaining why Black Clover is a good show despite its issues. I would like to start with the positives for this show, its almost impossible to talk about Black Clover without at least once bring up its phenomenal music which I personally think plays a big role making a show good. Without good music a lot of the feelings you were supposed to get from a scene or particular part of the show is not done as well as if it had music for example is the shows 12th opening, Everlasting Shine along with its amazing visuals helps the viewer to understand what they can expect the show to be doing currently, a training more chilled out part of the show. My second positive for the show is its interesting powers, I love to see shows where the powers are custom the person who has them, which is exactly what Black Clover does this allows for lots of variety and interesting powers, it helps that the power ups are usually satisfying and the characters actually had to struggle to unlock them (not yuno) so it usually goes perfectly together with the character development. My final and most important positive for the show considering its action is its fights, while Black Clovers may not be on the level of some shows with higher budgets it still utilizes the budget its given in very impressive ways, I never noticed the imperfections in the animation and drawings until it was pointed out to me which I personally think is impressive considering its budget. With anything this show also has its flaws and obviously I have to take these into account when reviewing this anime. The first and most obvious one is the basic plot, Black Clover doesn't reinvent the wheel it uses the tried and true methods, rarely doing something extremely unique this is in the negatives although I do not think it is for everyone a bad thing but since it bothered many people it is worth talking about when considering if you should watch it or not. The second big negative is the characters, now I will say I liked most of them some of them can be very annoying like Asta's screaming at the start of the show or the "loves to eat" trope character, overall the characters aren't terrible but they could use improvement. The Final Negative I have for Black Clover is the budget I did mention before that the fights were good considering the budget, which is true but it still wont reach the levels of some other shows like Demon Slayer so that can be disappointing for some.
Four years ago,on this very day,at 18:25 pm at JST ,this anime started to air, and it started a train in the anime community,a train of hate, and I was a part of that ripple too.Until around summer of 2018,I stopped being a part of that hate to see for myself, what I thought would be a show I would point at and laugh before dropping, turned into something that has changed my life and has helped mature me wholeheartedly as a person.. Warning this review is gonna be as long as the Nile river and as thick as Asta’s thighs, but after almost 4 years of following this show, I have many thoughts I have been bottling up for this very moment. # STORY _GOOD THINGS_ The pacing made the show very addictive.I think the journey was really fun,where they go from hunting boars,to having full fledged espionage missions too. The powers and magic were nice,felt like a nice spinoff to Harry Potter or something. Calling out the names of their spells felt less cheesy because it felt like how in Harry Potter they would say a spell to make the magic work.Since they use books and stuff. I felt a sense of stakes growing more and more,which made things more interesting.And by the end, Black Clover completely turns into its own beast entirely and that final arc was just a wonderful experience after actual years of seeing these people. _BAD THINGS_ Some of the beginning was a bit of a slog, so it's understandable how black clover started off on the wrong foot for others.But,to be honest, there's not a lot about the story that i dislike because the elements i dislike in BC are in other shounens (ie...flashbacks, fillers, beach episodes, cliche characters, tournament arcs).So if i complain about that, might as well complain about other shows as well.There were some episodes that were just stupid, and I guess some did last longer than they should. But hey, at least there's no 20 episode filler arcs……..yes im talking about you, __BLEACH__ # ART AND ANIMATION _GOOD THINGS_ I like the character designs, well sometimes. Bruh, Finral, wtf is that hair.Asta gets a new look at the end of the show, and wow it is something.Usually anime does that thing, where the mc is small at the beginning but grows taller or something, but with Asta, he grows muscles but is still small, so he looks like a midget on steroids. it's just so out there and avant garde,like something out of jojo.but I just couldn’t be mad at it because it feels like something only Black Clover would have the balls to do.The backgrounds are nice too.The animation,despite being rough a lot, has some stellar standout moments,some fight scenes are so epic and trippy i really don't see much animation like that in other anime ,Instead of naruto choreography or something like that, this show focuses on magic.And the animation at times for it is really abstract and visceral,like it feels earth defying.It gives me shivers especially after episodes of just off animation.Speaking of which. _BAD THINGS(Aka me roasting Black Clover)_ Now i love the show with my heart,but sometimes the animation is really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really harsh to get through at times,characters are out of proportion a lot, sometimes they looks like children lol, sometimes the hatching under their chins look like stitches, and looks like the character slit their throat or something,there are even weird direction decisions that focus more on the anatomy of a person,but the animators just can't pull it off because they are dying, like its biting off more than it can chew with its storyboarding. I swear I have ordered takeout with larger budgets than some of the episodes, and even the chibi shorts the “clover clips” look better than the actual episodes at some cases.Even despite the ham and cheese budget, the anime still tries to go along with the extensive amount of fight scenes it has, and wow, i appreciate the effort,but it real rough.So rough that it's really hard to ignore about Black Clover, its jankiness has become a trait of it.the 3d looks good stylistically at times,other times,zoinks,scoob! it's just a big yikes.I know 3D and anime don't usually get along unless its houseki no kuni,but damn when you see the 3d, it blindsides you at times.It's hard to pinpoint why BC looks bad compared to its other brethren,word on the street is that it got butfucked by the scheduling, or perriot is spending their time focusing on Boruto instead,some say they spend half the budgets on making the openings look great, and they are,but man. I really hope another studio takes BC on in the future # SOUND -The Music Say what you will about BC being mid at best, but you gotta admit, Black Clover has some of the best openings in all of anime. Visually, each opening has its own style to it, so i remember all of them from the top of my head, the openings and endings songs are all bangers, there isn't a single one that is bad.Black Clover does bring its A game when it comes to theme songs.The background music was fine, it wasn't too special or anything, -The Voice Acting. Back when the show first aired, the big meme was how Asta’s voice actor sounded like a fuckin car because of his constant screaming.And haha jokes on you I watched it all in dub lmao.Wait before you vomit yourself, hear me out.The dub was actually bearable believe it or not. It's not gonna knock a sub elitist’s socks off or anything,asta’s screaming is….still annoying but Dallas Reid along with others did a great job of bringing more personality to the Black Bulls I know in love. The other minor characters did great, the really minor ones that didn't matter were, kinda bad,but I mean its a shounen.At least they tried,you know.With this dub, instead of existing to please people who don't like reading subs,feels like it's one that is trying to add to the characters and make them more memorable.So kudos to that. Side note though, the Japanese VA for asta sang an ending theme, and it sounds real good,so nice to see he’s doing well. # CHARACTERS. Now this, this right here is the defining moment for why Black Clover is very effective compared to other shounens.The way it deals with its characters is just another example of why a first impression can be a kiss of death for a lot of anime.I’ll tell you now,its gonna be a little hard for some to get used to these characters.The.Black Bulls are known for being the most incompetent squad guild basically in all of the Clover Kingdom. Excluding Asta, and Noelle, the other members have these certain quirks to their personality,but in the first cour especially, these quirks come off as being basically the only part of their personality. Magna acts cool, Luck likes to fight people,Vanessa drinks alot,Charmy eats food, Gordon literally speaks like an ASMRtist, Gauche loves his sister, so much so that it is high key creepy, Grey…..is there,Finral flirts with girls .And the big guy himself, Yami, loves to use the bathroom, a lot.LIke a lot a lot. He actually spent an entire arc on a toilet one time too.Oh and prepare to be hit over the head over and over about these people and their quirks.Its rough i tells ya. But to be honest, its all worth it in the end,because the development all of these characters go through is just absolutely wonderful to see,its amazing to see these dingbats starting off at such a lowplace, and then start to do more and more, improving their powers,starting to actually save lives, even going into full espionage missions at times,even developing their own selves,embracing their upbrings, and pushing past their limits on multiple occasions and it pays off beautifully by the final arc.Its not beautiful in like a JJK, “oh this character is cool and thats it'' way. Its beautiful in like a way where you take your dumb kid to kindergarden, then you see them receiving their diploma as they graduate highschool.Moral of the story, these characters are basically my children. And even when I thought some of the characters would lose me, surprisingly they really won me over.When I first saw Yuno being the best at everything, i was rolling my eyes, But actually he doesn't really get that much screen time and when he does become important, the challenges he faces really shows the human side of him more.When I saw Noelle, her royalty bullcrap drove me nuts.She may be a tsundere or whatever, but as the show went on and her power increased, her character improved too, her tsundereness got toned down a lot when other developed elements come into play,and her flexing her “royalty” actually had some weight to back it up so I didn't mind it anymore. -When BC Gets Serious Also one weird compliment I can give this show is how relatable it can be,usually in a lot of other shounen’s the characters are like super strong or have some hidden strength that make them the very best that no one ever was, but with Black Clover it focuses on the weaker characters more.Almost at an uncomfortably weird degree, it focuses on how discrimination and insecurity can affect a person’s potential, and even comes in with the cold hard truths that every human has their limits.I like how some of the characters watch.Also,It even has some commentary about class shaming,discrimination, and disfunctional families.I mean its a shounen, so these themes arent the master of subtlety but they did speak to me personally at times when I didnt expect it to.And made the characters actually all feel human instead of feeling like isekai characters. _CHARACTER DYNAMICS_ Also the characters have great chemistry, Not in just funny times but in actual fights.The way they fight together without making it cheesy “friendship is magic'' crap. The way they teach each other,and when their lives are on the line and their friends start dropping, you really feel the adrenaline rush and the weight of responsibility drop on them, which gives me chills.It really is a case of commitment though. And this dynamic pays off so well in fight scenes later on, especially in one fight scene at the near end of the show with Yami and Asta.The animation was wild, not only that,but the dynamic Yami and Asta built over the years really hit me hard,i was actually contemplating giving this show a 9 just for that.But I had to be a bit objective. -Evil People The Villains are fine. This show does get better with villains later on.But the thing about these villains is that they feel like henchmen,and most of their reason for being evil is like “being evil is fun and i like killing people”, but their powers were cool, some were well written,others where just random people I didn't care about.The final villain in this show was just insane. _-"Asta Is More Deep Than You Think"_ Alright here we go, the man of the hour, Asta. Honestly,despite being the more annoying sounding protag in an anime, he is also one I do have deep appreciation for. I know his mating calls are deafening, but the way I see his screaming is that it's sort of like a vent on frustration.This show touches on some messages such as not letting evil thoughts control yourself,and that kinda applies to asta as a character. He was put at a disadvantage from birth,being raised as an orphan in a poor town,having no magic,and being short, but his dream of becoming the wizard king is a very lofty one,not only that,but his pal Yuno really great with magic and wants to be king too,so asta has to deal with competition.Those insecurities and fearful thoughts that Asta has are ones that he doesn’t want to bottle up,so as a result, he always yells and releases that frustration and converts it into adrenaline and motivation to pursue his goals.And he just keeps progressing despite his odds.So I can understand why he does scream a lot.Now before you say “dude why are you thinking too much into this, you're such a dork omg and asta sucks”, I only bring up these things because in the actual show, there are moments where he does give in to these insecurities and bad thoughts Those moments are some of the defining moments for Asta, and its not just a case of an anime protagonist enacting God Mode because they got triggered by their friend getting yeeted. With Asta, its more of a case of when things go wrong for him, he gives into his insecurities and bad thoughts that only get worse since he has come so far just to lose, BUT he converts those thoughts into rage which gives him more strength even if his sanity is or isn't there.I say this because usually other MC's would just hate their opponent with a vengeance, but Asta more times than not beats himself up for not being strong enough. You see, Asta loves to train and get stronger physically to make up for his lack of magic..And since strength is what Asta treasures over most other things to make up for his non magic, there is this subtle message about how the ones at a disadvantage in life will need to sacrifice more to achieve goals, and at times, your best won't be good enough,so other more riskier measures will have to be taken.And trust me, asta is put through hell and back again in this show.Thats why Asta did make an impression on me, I mean he isnt Shigeo Kageyama or anything, but Asta is very well written imo. Yea he is annoying but still he grew on me alot.Now I may be just looking too deep into this to defend this “trash” show,but if I see it, I will talk about it. That's the magic of anime reviews. # ENJOYMENT Oh man, this part will be the hardest to talk about.I will make a confession, when Black Clover first came out, the hate train was at its maximum capacity, people dunking on it left and right.Not only anime fans,but manga readers as well.And when I started watching out of curiosity and the openings, I wasn't digging it at all either, Luckily I was able to binge the first cour,or i would have dropped this show without a second thought.But the characters kept me going, the addicting pacing, the sheer goofiness and camp that made BC fun at first.It does has its boring moments, like many other shounens do,sometimes the animation was just really hard to watch at times ngl.Nevertheless,It really won me over eventually.I considered it a guilty pleasure,until some moments that were unironically great started to happen, and I started to like it more, Thus turning me into the stan I am today. I stalk their twitter, I literally cried when their final op trended #1 on Youtube, I even followed Yuno on instagram, yep.Im not usually a stan for even shows that I love because either the fanbase is toxic or the story turns to shit and the fans just act bitter about it and harass the animators on twitterrrrrr.But why I am vocal for my love of Black Clover is because it changed my perception of popularity in the anime community and made my judgement better. There are a lot of other black clover fans as well.And we just vibe to BC together and forget the haters.And it's just a lot of fun.Catching up with the final arc of BC is hands down the most fun I had watching an anime all year. The reason why BC sticks with me personally more than a lot of other anime is complex, you're gonna think i'm on that dank shit or something but just hear me out for this. # -HOW BLACK CLOVER’S THEMES SPECTACULARLY TRANSCENDS INTO REALITY AND HOW IT IS IMPORTANT TO ME PERSONALLY. Now I don’t know if this is accidental or not,but as I start to grow more and more into the show, my experiences with defending this show,and the themes in Black Clover start to weirdly connect with each other. And that resonates with me.It's almost scary. Black Clover touches on not letting your disadvantages stop you from still pursuing your goal.A lot of times in Black Clover, Asta outwardly gets ridiculed for being annoying and not having powers, but that doesn't stop him from improving however he can.Noelle gets criticised and bullied by her family at the beginning for not having good control with her magic,but that doesn't stop her from refining her powers.A majority of the Black Bulls have been discriminated for being incompetent,quirky,or weak.And for me as a black clover fan. I have literally been dragged for about three years now for liking Black Clover,Not just on the internet but in my real fucking life I have been judged.I havent even gotten this much flack for disliking bunny girl senpai, It was constant clowning, I can chat with my friends right now, and I bet one of them will make fun of me for saying I like it. Hell, I don't even say anything about it, yet I get dragged for liking it.And it's not like a fun joking, its like maliciously name calling and belittling.But you know what…...that didn't stop me from thinking its a good show. It does have hurdles I know, but I am all for a redemption arc,you know. I was there for all of it. I was there when ep 63 literally caused a war online where some said the animation was great, and others said it was shit. I was there when CinnamonToastKen tweeted about that animation error in 2018.I was there when fukin Black Catcher was released, and many people creamed their pants.I was there for all of it. And I don't wanna stop. Back then I was always worried what others thought of me for liking a show not many others did, well today,I am a changed man,thanks to Black Clover, screw the haters, I just want to be the muthafukin wizard king, ;)
Black Clover has received tons of hate and criticism, so my role here is to make it clear; why someone should go for it or ignore it. Of course, there are many flaws, but it is undeniable that some things were handled well for a battle shounen anime. Starting as an adventure of two brothers who dive into the world of magic, Black Clover introduces us to a world full of colour, battles and a big number of characters. But aside from that, Tabata Yuuki tries to deliver political and moral messages in his own way. The main arcs revolve around pacifism, trust, hope and positive energy; the villains are the complete opposite, thus the protagonists will either end up changing their mind or destroying them. In addition, the hierarchy and political systems are interesting in this one; the satirical presentation of the kingdom’s king, the arrogance of higher-ups and the – unfair – rankings and labels of the Magic Knight squads. One of the biggest minuses is the power system, how the main characters suddenly gain unreal power and defeat their villains. But the battles are mostly used as fan service and the result includes a moral message that watchers do not care about, and it is not their fault. Although there might be good meaning behind all the fights, it is not easily spotted. The main reason people like me do not like Black Clover as a whole (don’t get me wrong, some parts are likable), is the ridiculously repetitive comedy, which is not even funny to begin with. Many characters are mostly used for comedic purposes and have their own comedic patterns, and this approach ruins the character part too in this show - even if there are a few exceptions and some good character backstories (Zora, William and some more). And it is not surprising that everyone has heard negative comments about Asta and some main characters, because their repetitive behaviour may end up irritating. In terms of Black Clover comedy, there’s also Petit Clover, which is the short chibi scene at the end of each episode. Fans of chibi anime may check Mugyutto Black Clover too, a short ONA with a good opening song…and nothing more. The animation is nothing special, but it is colourful and leads to an enjoyable experience. The kingdom’s medieval setting, the different forms of magic and the squad colour patterns are the pros, while the lack of details and spectacular animation are the cons. Mixed feelings on voice acting too, since there were amazing performances and awful ones too. Some of the most noteworthy ones are Suwabe Junichi’s as Yami and Koyama Rikiya’s as Dante. Soundtrack for dessert, because my words about it can only be sweet. Starting with an amazing combination of OP and ED - kankakupiero’s Haruka Mirai and ITOWOKASHI’S Aoi Honoo – Black Clover never disappointed us with its exceptional opening and ending songs. Many of them are listed on youtube playlists, even by people who have never watched the anime. The battle OST is decent, and the only soundtrack that is poor is the goofy / comedic one, but I don’t take it into consideration since, like I said, the comedic scenes in Black Clover are bad. To sum up, as far as I’m concerned Black Clover has definitely not been a bad experience overall, but not a good one either. Sometimes it was fun, though the writing and execution lacked a lot and could have done much better. If you ask me if Black Clover is one of the worst shounen anime like many people say, though, I would reply that I’ve seen much worse, and this is the main reason I wrote this review. Any questions and discussion topics will be gladly accepted, feel free to text me. Thank you for reading!
#Black Clover is a mind numbing cartoon with a few above average moments sprinkled in Watched black clover as my 1st long shounen when I heard it's the most up-to-date one and it sucked, here's why (contains tagged spoilers) ~~~__Characters__ : 3/10~~~ The more the character is shown the worse and less interesting it gets, which makes the main characters absolutely horrible. Yuno : Edgy power fantasy animeboy that people write as wish-fulfillment after they were bullied with belle as a living proof that the author never met a woman in his life Noelle : Cringe tsundere who falls for the mc because of course, with nothing to justify her MC status Asta : Average shounen MC with a small brain and a big heart that goes through 0 development, except the catch is that he's loud .. like ____REALLY____ Good characters like Fuegoleon barely have screentime, and those who do like Yami spend their extra time doing the one major issue no on talks about ____EVERY CHARACTER HAS ONE LINE THEY SAY AS "DIALOGUE"____ Luck ? "I like to fight people" Gauche ? "I want to see my sister mary" Grey ? "_That's so embarassing_" (the list doesn't end) everyone has one line and one joke they repeat to fill time regardless of situation cause wtf is writing ? Most flashbacks are the same "my family no likey :(" ~!Noelle, Vanessa, Grey, Luck, Langris !~ Each less interesting than the other, And more cartoonishly evil with no care or effort put into them 170 episodes and I could only care about the relation between yami and william, luck and magna and langris and finral _Takes a deep breath_, well that was a long rant, can't say others will be shorter ~~~__Worldbuilding__ : 2/10~~~ Not much to say here, a lot of places just exist for a flashback and never on the real world, and even the world itself doesn't compliment anything nor does anything compliment it, we just get a funny map after a hundred episode that's vague asf and call it a day ~~~__Power System__ : 1/10~~~ It's insulting, just garbage, ~!Abilities straight up are made when someone is in a pinch, that's canon, most of the time it's just a better version of the last one which makes everything stale asf, and to top it off, vanessa straight up has a spell that says "main characters can't die LOL"!~ And the only way to add any thrill is the mana system, which just doesn't exist, we only hear a character saying "I'm running out of mana" to signify a battle is about to end, there's no consistency or metric to it, it's just a fake system to pretend like something interesting is happening ~~~__Power scales__ : 0/10~~~ The biggest insult that killed the author for me, in 170 episodes he successfully avoided all meaningful ways of comparing characters in power ~!Tournament arc ? oopsy daisy happens and they avoid making a clear winner, friendly battle between the magic leaders ? ends in the lamest tie ever, Going to heart kingdom to get assigned a level and train ? avoid comparing characters except for luck and magna, Giving out rewards and ranks ? Asta is actually lawfully a criminal so he can't attend :(!~ Genuinely got me frustrated irl at how Fucking garbage this is, An anime so lacking of anything and then it's bad at pretending it does. ~~~On a positive note, __Songs__ : 10/10~~~ Mf'ers didn't miss, everything is fire and/or fits the arc, openings slap hard and endings are p good too, Not much to say really ~~~__Visuals__ : 6/10~~~ Definitely better than some of other long shounens, but everything lacks soul, there are like 4-5 fights I can actually say were well produced while the rest pretended to be, proportions feel wrong and everything is average at best, but not bad for a weekly show (which is one hell of a low bar). ~~~__Pacing__ : 4/10~~~ Not to repeat myself but dialogue is straight up horrid, and so is the power system so if there isn't a fight or new character 95% of the time it's boring as shit and an absolute slog to get through, and I'd be mad to say it pays off, only like two arcs in the whole show actually do. ~~~And the long awaited, __Story__ : 4/10~~~ The dungeons are rarely explored (pun intended), an overwhelming majority of flashbacks are repetitive, boring and have no reason to be there, the political side and ~!"cults"!~ are never looked deeply into, but ig that's just shounen. funnily enough I don't have much to write here because that's how hollow Black Clover is, only real story we had was ~!Elves and the story had a few things going for it, and the arc def had its moments, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it sucked to see how good this arc could've been if it was utilized better!~ ~~~__Enjoyment__ : 4.5/10~~~ And I'm being generous here, I planned to drop it so many times and enjoyment : time spent ratio is nowhere close, Only the first arc/s up untill Vetto I'd consider to have a good payoff, but the things I do to cope ig. ~~~And for my special, __Author__ : 0/10~~~ I don't encourage any physical harm or personal threats targeted towards any individual, or any offense in general ... BUT, I had to have that there with how bad he is at doing everything and it sucks more that he lacks any self-awareness while doing it. oh and another note I missed, ~!He's too afraid to kill any character, in an anime about shounen and magic abilities as far as cutting dimensions it's funny how only a demon and Hamon died (jojo refrence), not anyone of the elves who stole bodies, killed the magic emperor and set the kingdom on fire then summoned a demon that almost ended the world ? nah they were just a little silly, definitely nothing worth killing them over, people are straight up cut with a sword and they get a mild wound and walk it off!~ __~~~TL;DR~~~__ Black Clover is a show that does nothing (but openings and endings) average or above, and it's even insulting at times, with how a fetus can write better than this, if you don't like it in the first 7ish episodes just drop, it does not get better and it's not worth anyone's time. And before you say it, if I went back in time I'd advise myself against watching this show, as what it has to offer doesn't make up to the time spent, let alone the bad experiences and insultingly bad writing and characters
Tbh, it took me ages to finish it. it is not that I didn't like it but sometimes I got tired or distracted with another things. However, now that I have finished it, I feel empty and I am more than glad to have reached the end cause it is worth watching. I sympathised a lot with the characters which is the worst part of finishing a show. It was so good actually, nevertheless I would delete some episodes which were not necessary at all. Good plot, good characters and good soundtrack. I would comment on some aspects about this separately: With respect to the characters, I cannot say that Asta is my favourite, cause despite I love him, I find that character so common and flat. Asta is an static character, so he remains the same all along the anime. That doesn't mean he is not good, but it is less appealing for me, as it has no personal development. he improves everyday, but his personality based on constance and strength has always been there since the very beginning. Apart from that, the other characters in some ways go through some changes, like for example Noelle, who at first was not able to make a simple attack and we can see her on episode 169 giving her best. About the plot, I can say it was entertaining and it is obvious that has a previous hard work in order to connect all and to create each spell etc. That is something I value a lot, because it wouldn't be the same to watch something that has some faults in terms of concordance or have a so basic plot that you can even predict what is going to happen. Respecting to the animation per se, I really liked it, not disappointed at all with this one as I always found it really visually appealing. Moreover, when it comes to the soundtrack I didn't care much about the openings, because I got tired only by thinking that I had to watch 170 episodes and it was the longest anime I was going to see. So, what I did was to only listen each opening once and then I skipped. There was an exception with _Everlasting Sun _by TXT cause it really got me and I enjoyed every single beat of that opening (not only because I am a Kpop Stan). I would also like to remark the last ending called _Beautiful_ by Treasure. Finally I will highlight some random things that really touched me as the ''battle'' with Asta's demon, because of the fact that Asta is stronger thanks to the people with whom he has fought and his companions. Also, the way in which this is shown really reached my heart. I am not going to say anything more about the last episode, cause I would end up spoiling it so much, but I can say that probably it has been the most beautiful and touching for me. I cannot wait to see what happens at the end...
