Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore TUEEE Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru

The goddess Rista summons a hero to help her hard mode video game-like world. The hero, Seiya, is exceptional in every way, but he is incredibly cautious to the point of buying three sets of armor (one to wear, a spare, and a spare for the spare) and going full power against weak slimes (just in case).

It's not every day I find myself so damn enamored and thoroughly absorbed in a comedy anime that hits all my right points for enjoyment value. Cautious Hero is such a fun rollercoaster of a ride from the first episode, and it only gets much more addicting and captivating as the show progresses. In more ways than one, the watcher is in for quite a surprise with this anime, it's more than meets the eye. But first, when it comes to the overall storytelling, it's simple and relatively straightforward. It takes place in the dimension of the goddess, where each of them is tasked to save their own respective worlds from complete evil. Our story is set in an S-class world ruled by the demon king and his goons. We follow our two main leads. Firstly, we have Seiya, who is the overly cautious savage dude, and I don't say that lightly either. This man will literally spam ultimate level attack on a slime of all things until he deems it's entirely secure for you go on with your day. And, no, it doesn't stop at one or even five attacks. There is no chill when it comes to Seiya's careful persona, which not only brings tears to people's eyes. Because we, among others, have his roasting session, which utterly destroys you down to your every soul. More or less, he has a rude attitude, and he doesn't care about appearances. If you get in his way, be prepared to be destroyed emotionally. That said, I can't help myself but entirely enjoy his unusual quirk since it's executed brilliantly. At first glance, the standard isekai setting, and overly cautious and overpowered being the core theme seems slightly boring, but far from it. The author of the source Light Tuchihi knows which buttons to press to keep it all from stumbling. Instead just rises the elements higher to offer you more entertainment value. Oh, did I forget to mention Kazuma from Konosuba would love this man Seiya to bits? Since he gives little to no shit when it comes to genders, and will treat you like he wants you to, whether you are a male or female. I can't even begin to tell you guys how many times this man has made poor Rista (Ristarte) go through hell because of his strong personality. She is a more or less blonde version of Aqua, that's the easiest way to describe it anyway. But like the blue water goddess, Rista is another appealing and adorable addition to be held. Although she is definitely different as well. How to best put it? Rista is a lovable pervert who is in serious love with our main male Seiya. It goes over-the-top sometimes, and her reaction is crazy, so full of life and emotion. She might need to work on her approach if she wants Seiya to ever return her feelings tho. I can also sadly see not everyone will be able to appreciate Rista for perhaps that reason. Still, for me personally, her twisty and turny character adds to the appeal, and I adore her that much more as a result. Seeing Seiya and Rista relationship is one of the biggest reasons I loved Cautious Hero so freaking much. But the side cast is not bad either and adds to the fun. It's so impactful, vibrant, and, as stated previously: full of life. I have to give credits to the voice actors for nailing their role too, but especially Rista. Who is played by Aki Toyosaki, who had way too much fun with her voice. She can make all kinds of bizarre, unique, and down-right hilarious sounds. Not to mention, with that solid and fit art-style Rista's, every facial expression is pure gold. Of course, that goes for Yuuichirou Umehara playing the role of Seiya, I can feel the harmony between those two as they act away with tons of enthusiasm and spirit. In other words, the comedy is just absolutely top-notch, and each episode had my side hurting from laughing too much. It was great. You will see all kinds of visual comedy imagery you might've thought was impossible. As you already could possibly tell by my positive vibe. Artistically, it was solid and looked simply clean. It has this simple nature to it, but let me tell you that's just merely a facade to fool you. All those expressions and the spot-on execution are not something you can draw out without love and passion for your work. So studio White Fox unquestionably knocked this one out of the park and then some. Yes, the animation is no different, you will see some mesmerizing sakuga, and all action scenes looked dynamic and impactful. I had indeed go back and replay some of those moments. We had a certain risque moment with Rista where her melons where hanging in the air and dangling, and omg, that sakuga had me dying, the fluidity was insane. That's just one segment. There are so many more to properly witness yourself and be astounded or shocked. I didn't really give you a clear image representation, so I doubt this one bit won't fail to cause a massive impact positively or negatively even. If it's too much. Well, you are the judge of that. Let me also give a short appreciation to the ending and opening song. First off, we have MYTH & ROID, and you either hate or love their music. I am the latter, thankfully for me. On top, there is that cute and lovely ending song with Rista dancing by Riku Azuna. It's CGI and probably not the best you've seen. But honestly, you will be bopping your head left and right to the catchy tune to care much about such irregularities. Now at the core, Cautious Hero is a straightforward anime but executed its theme with great care. I mean, think about it for a moment, our main is isekai'd, and the world is more or less the same as all those other shows out there which are cut from the same cloth. The story revolves around the theme of a hero who is very overpowered and a world that needs saving to boot. But instead of staying true to the core till the end, Cautious Hero twist and turns to truly leave you shocked. It's hard to not dive into spoilers. However, essentially by the end, you might find yourself overly emotional and crying tears of a waterfall. That's one of the big reasons why Cautious Hero differentiates from other anime with the same setting and genre. It doesn't play inside of the box, but also outside to make sure every watcher is thoroughly engrossed and captivated. That way, this normally simple idea starts to feel complex and lets you add to the story is unique and exciting ways. Whatever the case may be, Cautious Hero has at least my seal of approval for being an outright stunning comedy. And a great anime all around that is not afraid to subvert viewers' expectations or stomp all over our feelings. You might possibly have a great and emotional time watching this anime. Now I can only cross my fingers in anticipation of a much-deserved sequel. I need one badly. At one point, I have to also pick up the light novel. If you especially love KonoSuba, then I can almost guarantee you will have a blast with Cautious Hero. This is positively one of the best Isekai anime I have personally watched in recent years, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

# Cautious Hero: A funny story with a sad ending. Honestly, it was a really good anime. Of course, there were a few flaws as well. I'll be rating on multiple categories, so buckle up. __Plot: 4.5/5__ -It's not the best, but there aren't any flaws about it. It's pretty simple and to the point. Overly cautious hero gets summoned to another world, (gets isekai'd), has to defeat the demon lord and his underlings, is guided by a godess, gets more aprty members along the way. It's got all the traditional isekai anime things to it, straight down to the video-game-like aura it gives off. ____ Characters: 2/5____ -God, I hate Ristarte. She only really has personality in the last two episodes. I'm being completly honest when I say the only characters I really liked were Valekriye and Seiya. The others are just... hollow. They're the kind of characters you see in every single fantasy or video game based anime. ____Voice Acting - Dub: 3/5 Sub: 4/5 ____ -Bringing me into another reason why I hate Rista. Her high pitched voice. It's in dub and sub. Seiya's voice is pretty much the same. Mash and Elulu as well. Overall. I'd reccomend sub for this anime. I watched dub for most of it, and it was incredibly taxing on my soul. ____Design/Animation: 5/5____ The action scenes are beautifully done. All of the attacks shown in this anime are beautiful, and I cherished every single action scene that came along. They were extrodinary to watch. As for character design, I thought all the characters looked really great. I especially liked the designs of the goddesses. (No, not for lewd reasons.) ____SFX/OST: 5/5____ The sound effects for action scenes were really well done. The only real music in this anime are the intro and outro, which definetly didn't dissapoint. The intro is kind of a bop, not gonna lie. ____Overall Enjoyment: 5/5____ I really, really enjoyed watching this anime. It was exciting to see how the characters grew and developed over time, and every episode was just so exciting and left me wanting more. ____Reccomendation: 4/5____ Honestly, it depends on the person. If you're a sucker for isekai and action, definetly. If you want to watch for comedy, I wouldn't reccomend it. I didn't find myself laughing at any of the 'comedic' scenes. If you want an anime to cry about, just wait for the last part. This anime kinda has everything. Comedy, sadness, action, isekai, and even a bit of romance. --------------------------------------------------------

(opinião final) Honestamente, gostei deveras do anime do garoto precavido.

~~~~~~~~~This show is kind of like going to McDonald’s, ordering fries, and getting a fresh batch of the window, with a new brand of dipping sauce that, after trying, you liked - but isn’t as good as your regular order of sweet chili. ~~~~~~ Cautious Hero presents itself as a safe alternative to most other isekai in existence. A hero is summoned, they go on an adventure, meet friends and comrades on the way, all with the objective of slaying the demon lord and his minions. What the show has which a more generally average show may lack is charm. Specifically, the characterization of its two main leads; Ristarte and Seiya is a contrast to the typical isekai slop we all know and love. Ristarte – The ‘useless goddess’, who I would describe as nothing short of an Aqua-like character Seiya – The traditional isekai protag with the twist that he’s ‘cautious’ In my experience, Seiya is a relatively unique character, in that he’s not underpowered/underleveled/under whatever power system the show’s universe uses. He starts out as an exceptional hero who can take on the majority of challenges from the get-go. The twist of the show is that he’s a ‘Cautious Hero’. This characterization is used in an interesting and well-thought-out way. You can relate to many of the choices he makes as a traditional video game protagonist, which helps a lot in making him a more believable character. Ristarte the goddess does come off as someone extremely similar to Aqua, but the way the show uses her is, similar to Seiya; unique in its own way. She is generally weak, and the rules of the universe dictate that she cannot take an overly active role in Seiya’s journey. The charm of her character is the way she’s juxtaposed with the ‘traditional isekai MC’ of Seiya. From the audience’s perspective, Seiya isn’t actually the MC of the anime. Seiya is the MC of the plot, but the anime itself is told through the perspective from Ristarte, which I thought was an interesting perspective on the traditional isekai setting. Much of the charm of her character is that she’s played off as the straight-man of the show. Her interactions with Seiya and his overly cautious attitude lead to humorous moments, where we as the audience can empathize with her situation in having summoned someone so strong, yet so cautious. Ristarte herself is nothing necessarily ground-breaking or special as the audience’s view into the world of the show, yet she is beautifully animated with a wide range of faces and physical reactions. She will contort herself to fit something that can only be described as a Picasso-like image after seeing an old man turn into a baby. She’ll stretch out her face in an expression of pure horror in the face of a demon. She’ll bend every dimension imaginable to give us a glimpse at the face of a broken woman in reaction to Seiya’s decisions. Ristarte is a vessel for absurdism in an otherwise straightforward isekai romp through a demon-infested world. The catalyst for the useless goddesses’ humorous reactions is Seiya himself. In basic terms, he’s played off as a caring asshole. Not exactly a ground-breaking representation of a fantasy character, but the way he’s used as an, equally to Ristarte, absurd character is what gives the traditional isekai story a bit more of a twist. Seiya is cautious to a fault. This man will stock up on 1,000 potions and herbs to fight an enemy 30x weaker than he is. He is for all intents and purposes, a ridiculously overblown portrayal of a cautious hero. I think a weaker show would use this as the setup and punchline for the entire show: “He’s super-duper cautious, he never stops preparing, all the character think this is crazy, hilarity ensues”. Everyone in the board room claps. We can make a completely average isekai but with a small twist that people can meme about for 2 weeks before it’s forever forgotten. But as mentioned before, it’s how this is juxtaposed with Ristarte and the rest of the cast. Without Ristarte’s absurdist reactions of face contorting nonsense, the show would fall flat on its face as just another isekai, but suddenly it’s elevated to something a bit more special with the switch to Ristarte’s perspective for the audience. The show seems self-aware about just how overly zealous Seiya is about preparation. It’s pointing and laughing with us THROUGH Ristarte, which I think is a bit of smart characterization. With the juxtaposition of absurdism with the bland and mundane comes with a large caveat, however. As mentioned before, this IS a traditional isekai. Demons are destroying the world. Kill the demons. Summon a hero. Make him stronger. Start at a ‘low level town where you can fight slimes and buy gear’. It’s boring. The premise of the show as a principle is boring. Without the humorous character writing, this show would be left out back and turn into dust to the annuls of time. The supporting cast, mainly being Mash and Eruru, the ‘traditional isekai party members’ are bad. They’re poorly written, they have barely any characterization, they don’t have any real interesting or unique traits. They’re dragons. Wow. The show does everything in its power to make these completely uninteresting supporting characters seem important to the plot and the world they’re meant to save, and yet they’re given very little time to develop as characters. They aren’t flawed, they don’t have personalities. Coupled with this is the as previously mentioned aggressively safe and traditional isekai plot. It’s been done a thousand times before. It’s not unique, it’s not interesting. It’s boring. What would really elevate this show in addition to its unique perspective and well-animated slapstick/absurdist comedy would be a good plot and good supporting cast. You would have every right to argue ‘but the story isn’t over, there’s still more in the source material’. Sure, you could argue that if you weren’t wrong. The 12-episode anime itself is a self-contained story. It has a beginning, a middle, and an end. Every plot thread, every character, every arc is wrapped up in those 12 episodes. The continuation, I would assume, is just more of the same. It’s almost ironic that the absurd actions and reactions of Seiya and Ristarte respectively are mirrored with the equally absurdly generic and uninteresting plot, world and universe. This is where the McDonald’s analogy comes in. This show is like eating fries, but you’re dipping it in a new sauce, and it’s good, but at the end of the day, you’re still eating fries. The best part of the meal is probably going to be that you found a new sauce that you didn’t know you liked until you tried it. It’s a new and unique twist on the same thing you’ve been eating for years. It’s a massive shame, because they had an interesting dynamic between the two primary characters, but everything else lets it down. The animation is generally above average (not including the animation on Ristarte herself, which is perfectly executed to portray every reaction imaginable), but the OP isn’t very unique, the soundtrack basically doesn’t exist, the worldbuilding and supporting cast are massively lacking, and the plot itself just feels like a staging ground to develop the interactions between Seiya and Ristarte. My overall feelings are that the two primary characters can justify this show being seen as good, but it can’t justify it as being seen as great. I enjoyed it overall :) ~~~
