I should start by admitting that I don't think otaku pandering is generally a bad thing. One of anime's strengths is its instantaneous hook from maximized aesthetic appeal in character design, so wish fulfillment entertainment is simply a natural progression. Nonetheless, there are many ways for an anime rooted in pandering to go wrong, one of which _Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san_ is a pretty good example. Our protagonist Nakano is afflicted with a general malaise from being overworked by his office job, and playing opposite is Senko, a fox spirit who decides to become his housemaid as a means of alleviating his exhaustion. There's nothing especially unique about Nakano. Aside from having an affinity for Senko's fluffy tail, being an average exploited Japanese salaryman is Nakano's defining characteristic. Neither Nakano nor Senko feel like fully realized characters, rather they act as commensal concepts. Hence, the essence of the show lies in a emotionally fulfilling atmosphere (often described as "healing") enkindled by Senko's caring for him. Nakano exists diegetically to be pampered by Senko; likewise, Senko's main purpose as a character is to care for Nakano. There is another fox spirit, Shiro, who befriends Nakano, but she never really aggressively competes with Senko for his attention, instead functioning like an alternative texture. Having outlined the mechanics, we can now ascertain how its narrative falls apart in several aspects. Firstly, since Senko has no personal motivation to act as Nakano's housemaid (the canonical explanation that he resembles one of his ancestors who previously had a rapport with Senko means that her interest at first is a matter of happenstance, i.e. any inciting attraction is negligible), there is no real chemistry between the two. This is aggravated further by their strictly platonic interactions, and although there may be sexual/romantic undertones, any development in this direction is repeatedly extinguished by Nakano's contradictory inner remarks about how Senko both looks too young for his taste and acts too maternal for him. The show falls flat here since it's mostly focused on their relationship, or lack thereof. As there is no foundational attraction between the two, the weight of Senko's motivation to nurture falls onto the circumstances surrounding Nakano's unhappiness. This is actually the show's biggest misstep. As the emphasis shifts to Nakano's abuse at work, _Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san_ evolves from flaccid slice of life into something much more sinister. Japan's work environment is an unignorable cultural dilemma. Extremely long hours, unpaid overtime, and unused vacation days are common realities experienced by Japanese salarymen, often leading to stress, depression, sleep deprivation, and, at its extreme, karōshi (overwork death). "Death marches" and "black companies" are serious issues facing Japan, and the nightmare of actually working as an animator in Japan is pretty well understood by fans. But what does this have to do with the show? To help illustrate why this is a narrative problem, let me pose a question: Why Nakano? Surely, he isn't the only salaryman suffering as a result of his exploitative company. So where is everyone else's Senko-san? What did Nakano do to get his own fox spirit housemaid? Of course, we know the answer, and we already know it to be facile and convenient. Nakano had no decision in his ancestry, and there is nothing particularly special about his victimization. Thus, the answer the show provides is also its general prescription for the salarymen at large: moe escapism. Instead of identifying a cultural emergency that the government has even been taking action against, _Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san_ sees an opportunity to exploit for its own benefit. Why bother questioning the circumstances of stress, isolation, and disconnection when you can just watch anime like _Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san_ and self-insert yourself into faceless leads like Nakano? This is unintentionally egregiously harmful social commentary, and in a culture in which a man married a Vocaloid character to escape loneliness, this is unacceptable. _Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san_ doesn't need to be a show with deep social commentary; the most frustrating thing is that the perfect adaptation already exists in the form of the post-credits "Super Senko-san" scenes. These segments showcase the real spirit of the show stripped down to its essentials. They reimagine the episode without all the fat, without the self-insert character, divorced from any social context, as a first-person POV one-sided dialogue short à la One Room. It's a format that works. But this was not the choice made, and the final product is merely a coddling vulgarity meant to fill a gaping demand in Japanese culture for domestic and emotional sustenance, abetting unethical work-life balance norms like convenience stores selling clean shirts for office workers unable to return home for the night for the sake of its own existence. Maybe this is "wholesome" entertainment for some, but the social implications are too glaring for me to find any iota of worth.

Pewnego dnia, gdy główny bohater wraca do domu, po otwarciu frontowych drzwi zastaje w środku zapalone światło, ciepły i przyjemny zapach gotowanej zupy. Z czego te pierwsze służą jedynie temu, aby przekazać widzowi informację, że Nakano ___O C Z Y W I Ś C I E___ miał wcześniej okazję spotkać pół-boską lisicę.

This anime is a great "slice-of-life" type, mixed in with a little bit of magic being there are fox demigods involved. I scored this anime a 7/10, and I'll explain why. I mostly just write these reviews for myself, but I don't make them private because I like to share my thoughts and get my brain working after I finish a good binge. So, here it is. This anime was great in its own aspects, and there's not much I can nitpick terribly about it. It does most things correctly and entertainingly enough, and doesn't overdue it with any particular aspect. It was a good balance for an anime. I'm very much into romance in an anime, and while Senko-san isn't necessarily a romance anime, nor is it a sort of point of interest that the story focuses on, there are still hints here and there and it wouldn't surprise me if the author of the manga has already developed some sort of more romantic relationship between Kuroto and Senko since the manga is still ongoing and 30+ chapters ahead of where the anime currently stands. I haven't read the manga past where the anime ends, so I won't make any assumptions and understand that at the writing of this review, I haven't read the manga at all, though I may in the future. Anyways, as a fan of romance I appreciated the hints of affection and blushing they added to this despite not being labelled particularly as a romance. The character design is quite good, as well as the animation. The style and animation works together very nicely and throughout the entire series your brain will constantly be screaming "CUUUUUUTE!" at least, it did for me. Senko, as a character, has already become very popularized and an iconic image, so in terms of memorable characters, I'd say this series has that in the bag. The other character's were good also, though, a part of me didn't really like the character of Kouenji. She seemed to have a very typical character sheet, and there wasn't all that interesting about her. There's not very many characters to go off of in this series that really stick throughout the entire thing, but that might just be to show how lonely Kuroto's life really was before Senko came along. The story was good, and the comedic bits were funny enough to make me chuckle. However, it can get a little tiring and boring. For example, most of the episodes consisted of just a lot of eating food, Kouenji leaving for and coming back to work (along with Senko saying the exact same thing every day that he comes back), or a visit or two from Shiro or Sora. There's just not a whole lot of super interesting things going on. It was the episodes like the snow episode when Kouenji got called in and he joined Senko playing in the snow and called her cute, making he head turn red (being a romance fan, I loved this scene it was adorable). I love those types of episodes that change up the scenery and changes up whatever the characters are doing every other episode. Overall, It's a well rounded anime. I gave this series a 7/10 because while it was interesting and cute, it tended to get tiring over time and I think if it weren't for Senko being there with her cute character to keep the show going, this anime would be a flop. I think this series has high potential for a 2nd season as the manga is still ongoing and currently 30+ chapters ahead of the first season (which only covers the first 23 episodes). I look forward to possibly picking the manga up, or if the next season is ever announced, I look forward to that as well. Would I recommend this anime to my friends? Yes.

NOTE: Intro and Conclusion are without any spoilers to the plot. Other stuff has spoilers thus. I would recommend only reading them when you finished the anime and want to see what others thought... or maybe if you dont mind spoilers and want to read more about the characters. Keep in mind. These are just my personal thoughts thus.. you may not agree and thats fine. Thank you. (ANOTHER NOTE: Now im aware that this isnt furry anime. Thanks goes to one nameless user for letting me know :D) __INTRO__ If im going to be 1000% honest with you here. Im not furry. Im not a big fan of furries. I don’t have anything against them. But I was never a crazy fan of them either. With that said I would like to share my reason to watching this anime at the very start -) 1. My friend is a furry 2. We wanted to watch something together 3. I wanted to watch something what isn’t so in depth. Did I get that? Simple answer: Yes. That isn’t enough? Read rest of the review and bare in mind that it contains spoilers since im going to be talking about plot and character development (maybe also animation style and music). __Kuroto Nakano__ Here is the root and the reason behind all the actions Senko-san took. Kuroto Nakano. Normal average programmer man who is too depressed and always brings out negative energy not only for himself… but for others around him as well. He is not positive at all… and that was the reason for us to get Senko involved. As the anime progresses and Senko-san spends more time with Kuroto. He learns to enjoy everyday things more and more. This is something I also noticed when watching Kuroto. I felt like the anime tried to show us how little Kuroto wants to happiness. That’s something to think about and appreciate. At the end of the season. Kuroto Nakano is willing to go and find Senko-san. That’s probably something he didn’t do and experience before. He reaches his hand to Senko-san and shows her that she really means a lot to him and that he also wants to be with her no matter what. __Senko-san__ Senko-san. The one who saved and made Kurotos everyday life a better and more fun place. She took care of Kuroto in many, fulfilled lot of dreams and gave furries the fan-service I believe they wanted :D. At the end of the season. Senko-san finds herself doubting herself – which may be bit surprising if you think about it. Demigod fox 800 years old and she has doubts. I think this maybe wanted to show us that age doesn’t matter and that everyone can slip. If we get season 2. I will be looking forward to seeing more of Senko-sans little development :D. __Shiro__ Shiro was in my eyes a character who helped the plot and overall happening have a slightly different vibe and feeling to it. Her personality is something what challenged Senko-san. At the last few episodes, I also felt like her and Yasuko were the second row of main characters behind Kuroto and Senko. It’s something I really appreciated, and I think it gave the plot more room to maneuver. __Yasuko Kouenji__ Yasuko is another character like Shiro who helped the two main characters grow or have some time off the screen. I liked the way the anime showed her to us at the start and how it then progressed. One detail I also kind of personally liked is that she was an artist. __Sora__ She was I think the “Villain” of the anime. Of course, she wasn’t exactly fighting against our main characters. But she always presented that question in opposition against some beliefs the main characters had. Like at the end where she challenged Senko-sans purpose in pampering Kuroto. __Takeaway__ I think this anime showed us one thing. Sometimes people really need little to make them happy (pampering) or maybe too much (demigod fox)? Other than that, I haven’t really felt like anything amazing stood out. __Conclusion__ If you like and enjoy animes where there are furries and you can chill. Here you go. Thanks for reading

Slice Of Life Genre Is generally pleasing but when it comes to the hard work of Studios Doga Kobo and Producers Madman Entertainment and Funimation. When it comes to how much planning it comes to Making the show come to life it really shows so many details towards the actual series really piqued my curiosity into watch the series. _____ #Characters And Design The design the character designer [Ooshima Miwa ](https://anilist.co/staff/101527/Ooshima-Miwa) Put onto the characters design is really amazing when it comes to the personalities put into the characters just by the way it looks and acts it makes me wanna gratefully hurl all over the character designer! What I like about the character design is the Symmetric curves of the Body. img900(https://c.tenor.com/NaNUyySZlLQAAAAC/senko-the-helpful-fox-senko-san.gif) 10/100 for Character Designs _____ # Voice Actors All of my favorite Voice Actors are acting on here! What really piqued my interest into a whole new level which really persuaded me to watch and just sit there on one anime for an entire class period in the classroom watching some Loli fox take care of a creep who is in love with kitsune tails for some reason which I would think while sitting there what tf am I doing with my life. I could immediately stop watching it if it wasn't for Japanese VA and singers [Uchida Maaya ](https://anilist.co/staff/108639/Uchida-Maaya) and [Azumi Waki ](https://anilist.co/staff/119517/Waki-Azumi) Which recommendations from school friends have really made me watch and enjoy this show! 9/100 For VA ___ #Storyline The storyline was overall a piece of cake, but it can get a little boring over the episodes. For example, most of the episodes consisted of just a lot of eating food, Kouenji leaving for and coming back to work..And Senko saying the exact same "Welcome Home!" Which really drew me away fro the anime and back when the episodes started getting less boring and actually showed some sad moments in the Finale Ep 12 and 11 and those episodes made me cry a little seeing senko san leaving and coming back. #Overall Notice This show is good but can get better in a way and I just know that the creator can do better and actually add a sequel or a movie at-least to show that the show isn't completely over in some sort of way to truly understand Nakano and his loli grandmother Senko who we cherish and love as the adorable loli she is and that guys is a proper conclusion and closure of Sewayaki Kitsune No Senko San. Score Design 10/100 Character 40/100 VA 9/100 Overall my opinion 30/100. #Quotes >"I'm gonna step on you UwU" - Senko >"Welcome Home Master" - Senko (not really a quote cant u see im stalling reader???)

____This review contains spoilers. Please actually try to comfort these spoilers to your heart's content, like how Senko did it.____ The Helpful Fox Senko-San is all about a salaryman and his fox girl friend, who cares for him by doing stuff such as cleaning his ears or doing his dishes. But what makes this anime comfy? Let's find out.. # ____THE STORY: 10/10 ____ Nakano is an average salaryman, living a dull, boring life. That is until he notices a fox girl in his apartment, despite his thoughts on the fox girl, he wants to be comforted after a long lonesome day of work. Thus begins Nakano and Senko's wholesome friendship together. Each episode is full of cuteness that makes you go "AWW!" every minute, whenever Senko's cleaning, humming, or just helping his master out. There's also a lot of cute moments in the show that make you feel like you're being soothed by Senko herself. And if that leaves you relaxed, the "Super Senko Time" segments place you as you're comforted by the helpful fox yourself.

_Now come on and be comforted, don't be shy!_
# ____THE CHARACTERS: 10/10 ____ Senko-San has a minimal amount of characters who are in the story, but it tells their stores throughout this anime. Nakano can be relatable to anyone who went through a stressful day and just wants comfort when they get home, alongside his neighbor Yasuko. Both of the helpful foxes, Senko and Shiro, are just so fluffy and cute that you just want to live with them. And their master, Sora, is also an elegant fox who watches over them, but becomes important to the series later on. There's also a show within the anime, focusing on Little Yoko, a magical fox girl who fights off Don Tanukiman, a tanuki who's plan to capture photo's of Yoko herself just so she could be captured and embarrassed at the same time, but at the end of the anime, we get to see the final episode of Little Yoko's journeys, as she saves the world from evilness by powering up and going cosmic, although the adventures of her and Tanukiman continue.
_Just when you thought one fox girl was comfy enough.._
# ____VISUALS: 10/10 ____ The visuals are wholesomely stunning, each frame of each episode looks like a beautifully drawn piece of art, and it fits with the cute tone of the anime, ranging from the flower field imagined by Nakano when Senko cleans his ears, to the mythical world of the kistunes themselves. Not to mention, the little doodle like artstyle that is shown in ED, sure, we only see it for the ED's duration as Senko sleeps along, but it looks like a good job replicating on how a perfect crayon drawing of Senko would like. # ____SOUND: 10/10 ____ The OP sets the tone straight with all of it's visuals, and it's lyrics about how Senko is gonna comfort you to your heart's content even if you're feeling down after a bad day. The ED is a little rap tune about what capabilities Senko does while she does her thing at home. The soundtrack is also soothing and comfortable, almost like a lullaby that makes you instantly fell asleep due to it's heartwarming tune, fitting the anime's visuals like a glove to make it complete, surely, it would be a great listen while you're sleeping or at peace.
_In-a-gadda-da-vida honey, don't you know that I love you.._
# ____ENJOYMENT: ____ Watching this anime, back in 2021, and later on, the summer of 2023, brought me so much comfort and joy with each episode, and the entire anime is so heartwarming, it made me wonder how much cuter it could get within every passing episode, and it sure did. If you want to take a break from all of your action-packed and/or intense anime, this is one of them. And it shows how comfy and wholesome the entire anime is, making you feel like Senko is right at your home, ready to care for you anyday, anytime, and she'll sure take your stressfulness right away and replace it with feelings of extreme happiness and joy.
_Welcome home! You've had a long day, haven't you?_
