This review is super biased, just saying; Overlord is my absolute favorite series. Quick summary of the plot: A magical bone-man accidentally takes over the world with his monster posse. Chaos ensues. They try to mitigate the chaos and basically find a way to belong in their new world. Political and battle-related shenanigans galore. The opening, while not quite as catchy as the first season's, is really good and captures the atmosphere, tone and feel of the anime really well. While I feel the first few scenes (with the introduction of a few characters that won't be relevant for a long, long time) were lost on pretty much everyone, it did set the tone for the rest of the anime. The fights were once again animated beautifully, Madhouse did a great job on that. Lots of gore and horrifying deaths. And Ainz freezing over a swamp lake just so he doesn't get his robes dirty is rad af. There's the bit with the Lizardmen which have their own culture and such, who suddenly have a clash with the most overpowered group of freaks they've ever encountered, and there's Sebas saving his future wife. And finally. Demiurge has a fun little plan for E-Rantel that involves the Dark Warrior Momon and the Pleiades maids. YYYYESSSSSS. It's too bad many of the more intricate details of the story in the novels are left out, and as such the anime lacks the depth that makes the novels (and to a lesser extent, the manga) such an absolute joy to read. I love that Cocytus and Sebas had their time to shine, Mare got to show his more ruthless side and heck, we even got some lizard porn. Not to mention Shalltear being drunk and Albedo being lewd. What else could you possibly want? The only improvements I could make to this anime would be to add those details I mentioned earlier. However, that would require a longer runtime and, as a result, a bigger budget. So since that idea goes pretty much out the window, this anime is about as good as it can be. Conclusion: If you're looking for a good adventure anime with fun characters, incredible world-building and a premise not really explored before in anime, I highly, HIGHLY recommend this anime; it's an absolute delight. Oh, and it has really good horror and gore scenes. Uhm. Now I just need to fill this last bit of space.

# ~~~__Overlord II Review__~~~ _(Ainz Ooal Gown is referred to as Momonga, his nickname.)_ Anime has been around for a century, but is more popular now than ever before. Some anime have made a much larger impact than others and have really set standards for the anime to come after. Pokemon, Dragon Ball, and One Punch Man are a few examples of memorable as well as extremely popular anime. Overlord should stand to be yet another on that long list of memorable anime for many reasons, but mainly because of its overall greatness. Overlord II is the best season in the tripartite series and may be the best season of any anime in the Winter season of 2018. __Chapter 1: General Information__ So what is Overlord II? Overlord II is the second season in the series “Overlord”. It was first aired on January 9, 2018 and last aired on April 3, 2018. Behind the season/anime are six producers (AT-X, Enterbrain, Grooove, Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures, NTT Plala, and Kadokawa), one studio (Madhouse), as well as one licensor (Funimation). Kadokawa is a very large company and is behind many popular anime. To name a few, A Place Further than the Universe, Girls’ Last Tour, Kemono Friends (formally), and most importantly, Overlord seasons I-III. __Chapter 2: Story__ The story is very good. It continues off of Overlord I where Momonga rules The Great Tomb of Nazarick. He tries to find a powerful item that explains the cause for one of the problems in Overlord I. The plot can be easy to follow and overall is very well done. A negative aspect of this season in my opinion is that it is filled with side plots. They introduce a few new groups in the anime that have an issue they need to resolve. It all pieces together as Nazarick interacts with them later on. __Chapter 3: Humor__ This anime is meant to be a more serious type, as seen by the action, adventure, fantasy and supernatural aspects in it. That isn’t always the case however, as it tries to sprinkle some “humor” in certain areas. In my personal opinion, the seriousness and humor the anime portrays don’t blend well. Some of the jokes are funny though. Albedo is an Overseer of the Floor Guardians in Nazarick and she loves Momonga a lot, as seen by her attitude throughout the anime. This is the main punchline/humor that they beat into the anime in almost all of the 28 episodes (including the two episodes released in Overlord III as of 7/17), making it very dead. In addition, there are two other characters that love Momonga, one of them show jealousy towards Albedo loving him, this being Shalltear. This is also another punchline that they use throughout. Thankfully (or unfortunately depending on what you think of her), Shalltear didn’t have much screen time so this wasn’t an issue. Can’t say the same for Overlord I and (maybe) III. Romance is often used in anime regardless of the genre. Overlord II reels in five new romances, plus two from Overlord I. Romance in this anime is also used a lot for comedic effect and a punchline. If you were to ask me what episode of Overlord II was the weirdest one, I would definitely say episode five. I won’t spoil any of it for time’s and enjoyments sake, but I will tell you to be prepared. Once you get past the worst of the episode, it actually is a pretty good one. This is a joke that is reused in the following season and it doesn’t quite land the second time in my opinion. So a small piece of criticism of mine would be that the same kind of jokes are repeated too often and unfortunately get stale relatively quickly. __Chapter 4: Characters__ Let’s talk about the characters. The main character Momonga, also known as Ainz Ooal Gown in the virtual world, is leader of The Great Tomb of Nazarick. Momonga’s seriousness compared to Overlord I has changed a lot, for the better or worse. Throughout this season, he had less thoughts about being incompetent in certain situations. This ultimately means that he’s in more control of his role and is getting better at being the ruler of Nazarick that his team expects him to be. Another main character I would like to discuss is Albedo. She is an Overseer of the Floor Guardians in Nazarick. She also loves Momonga, which is clearly shown as much as a sharpie bleeds through thin paper. Her being madly in love in him isn’t a reason why she is a good character, but when she is more serious is when her good parts shine. Aside from her love for Momonga, Albedo has some pretty extreme characteristics about her that make her an interesting character; She is territorial as well as completely disgusted by humans. When she has to get something done she is all business and no games. Shalltear is a vampire and a Floor Guardian. She was a very important character in Overlord I, but was only shown in a few episodes in II. There is a reason, however, but it is a pretty weak one, as seen in episode one of Overlord II. (This is something I will elaborate later on) She is a decent character, but she really wasn’t an important one. Any of the other characters could have been the important character (as in, what Shalltear did any of the other characters could have done) and they would also be in the second and third season (unlike her), so there wouldn't be anything missing without her. Demiurge is a demon and Floor Guardian. He is considered one of the cruelest members in Nazarick. He is a pretty interesting character because it always seems like he’s hiding something, but always ends up helping Momonga with his goals. The final important character is Sebas, the Head Butler. He was part of a side plot in Overlord II which tied into the main one well. Unlike the rest of the team Sebas shows more compassion toward humans and thus plays an important role in his side story. __Chapter 5: Audio__ Audio is an important part to making a good anime. A high quality anime usually has good audio. Overlord does have good audio, except for one rare occasion in Overlord II. In the sixth episode at around the twenty one minute mark you might notice one of the antagonistic characters have his voice actor move away from his mic. The voice actors are pretty good with portraying the characters, so a pat on the back for that. The opening theme and ending theme for Overlord II is perfect; it’s catchy and has good animation. “Go Cry Go” by OxT is a really good opening, and might be one the best out of the three seasons. "Hydra" by Myth & Roid is also pretty good, but Overlord III’s ending is the best. __Chapter 6: Visuals__ Around thirty companies helped animate Overlord II, and it really shows. The characters are textured well, especially Momonga because of his bones. Something I didn’t notice while watching the anime is the 3D CG. It looks decent but upon closer inspection it isn’t really all that great An example of this is in both Overlord I and II where the skeletons are fully CG and don’t look very good as a result. The ones behind the 3D CG in Overlord II is Madbox. They have worked on CG in about twenty five different anime, including some Attack on Titan content. Most of the reviews for their implementation of the CG in other animes have been criticized heavily so I’m surprised to see it be the choice for this anime. For whatever the reason may be, Overlord I had a different company consisting of twelve 3D CG animators and one 3D CG producer work on its CG but then dropped them for Overlord II. As for Overlord III, it is still unknown what path they will take regarding the CG. Season 1: Season 2: __~!Chapter 7: First Impressions (Episode 1)__ The first six minutes and a half are side plots that are either going to be resolved, brought up again in Overlord II, or is not brought up again until possibly Overlord III or later. I personally don’t think it’s a good idea to begin the season with side plots, but it did focus on the main plot as well. The first episode includes a character from the first season that is less important this time around. I’m referring to Hamusuke, and whether you like him or not he is the giant adorable hamster. He was a pretty fun addition to the anime in Overlord I so it sucks that he wasn’t in II for a lot of time. As always, Albedo starts the season off with her displaying her love for Momonga by needlessly praising him. Jealousy is another thing that Albedo shows in this episode towards Shalltear when Momonga showed concern for Shalltear. In this season, Momonga plans to find the item used to mind control Shalltear in Overlord I by checking out the places in E-Rantel. Speaking of Shalltear, she’s in such a bad state that she decides to drink knowing that it could have had a negative effect on her. Also in this episode, Cocytus mentions his gratitude to being in charge of Nazarick’s first war, which is explained throughout the next few episodes. The ending has a new side plot that leaves us off in a cliffhanger. Most of what I said, if not everything, about the first episode, was pretty critical. However, that doesn’t mean I entirely hate the episode, I just don’t like those specific parts about it. The voice actors and the opening and ending are to name a few of the things I liked about it. My first impression rating of season 2 is a 6/10.!~ __Chapter 8: Final Thoughts (feat. TLDR)__ To make a long review short, this is a very good season of Overlord, one of the best. The story was good, the jokes were decent, the characters were amazing (including the new additions), the audio was also amazing, and the animation was good. Out of 7 trials, I give thou a rating of _7.57/10 or 75%._ More specifically: _Story: 8/10 Humor: 5/10 Characters: 9/10 Audio: 10/10 Visuals: 6/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Ending: 8/10_ Thanks for reading my review on Overlord! Si pe langa asta totul s-a terminat prea repede in ultimul episod.

_“...Until we know more about this world, we must always move forward believing the enemy is stronger than us." Ains-sama_ Before getting into this second season, the one piece of advice that was constantly given to me was: “Be patient.” At first, I had no idea why I needed to be patient with an anime that was STUFFED with so much action and development. Within the first few episodes though, I soon realized why such advice was given to me. Overlord 2 is very different from its predecessor because of what it chooses to focus on for the main storyline. While we do still get to gaze upon the glory of Ains-sama, this season focuses more on the “behind the scenes” events of the servants under him. This may be a turn-off for some, especially when the first few episodes may seem like they have nothing to do with him. But I too will give you some advice, be......PATIENT. Everything soon seems to fall into place, and you’ll realize that it was all according to plan. So don’t worry! This season definitely has its strong points, one of these being in character development. Before we get any further into that, let’s get on with the review! Art and Animation: 8.9/10 - In terms of pure consistency, I believe that this season performed the best out of the 3. My reason being that it played to its strengths, without much of the unneeded CGI. There were a lot of great characters added to the storyline, and I loved a lot of their designs. When it came to the action scenes, there were a lot of great moments that I’d definitely enjoy again if I ever did a rewatch. The character animations were very well done, with little to no mistakes in this department. Storyline and Character Progression: 9/10 - While the storyline itself was very entertaining, it had suffered from a reasonably slow start. I personally enjoyed the newly added perspective of the servants of Ains-sama because it had given them a lot more depth. We were able to really see why they all hold Ains-sama in such high esteem, despite his lack of experience. This made for interesting character interactions that were able to develop them more as a relevant character while preserving the progression of the storyline. I never felt that a single episode was meant to be a filler, and this is thanks to the great pacing we see throughout the season. Even with the newly introduced characters, a select few of them received a lot of attention in order to hint at their possible motives. I really enjoyed watching as some of their personalities were revealed to be a lot more complex than what I first imagined them to be. The events later in the season were definitely worth the wait, and the 3-D chess was even more apparent. The only downside? VERY little Albedo..... Soundtrack and Audio: 8.4/10 - All the amazing parts of the audio quality from the first season pretty much carried over into this next one. Even a lot of the newly introduced characters had some pretty decent voice actors, which maintained the atmosphere very well. The sound effects were also of the same great quality of the previous season. Only real complaint was the below average OP, it didn’t give me the same drive as an Overlord-worthy song. It lacked the true representation and energy that this season had to offer, but was ultimately saved because the ED was decent enough. Overall, this seasons focus was definitely on character progression. It had executed this very well because it delivered events that had meaning to the storyline and to the characters themselves. The development felt very natural and unforced, which helped the overall enjoyment of watching a season with ample Ains-sama. You really got to grow a greater appreciation for the servants as you saw some of them work behind the scenes in their day-to-day activities. And the things that they did were far from uninteresting, because even the servants of the great Ains-sama see some action from time to time! When it comes down to it, just be patient and enjoy the new perspective this season has to offer. I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed once the ball gets rolling and Ains-sama takes the stage once again! I’m comfortable giving this an 8.7/10 because while everything was great, it definitely felt like a platform for the next season. That’s all for now, thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you in the next one! ~~~~~Streaming Platform: Crunchyroll~~~~~

~~~__Bonjour à tous__~~~ On se retrouve aujourd'hui pour faire le point sur cette anime : __Overlord S2__. ~~~img(https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/overlord8371/images/c/c5/Overlord_II_EP01_127.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/185?cb=20190420031750&path-prefix=fr)~~~ Pour commencer, __Overlord S2__ est une bonne suite qui diffère un peu de ce que l'on a vu et appris dans la saison 1. D'abord, ce que j'adore c'est de voir que les PNJ sont de plus en plus autonome et que maintenant, ils savent presque pensé par eux même pour oeuvrer pour le bien de Nazarik. Mais j'ai également une crainte, c'est qu'en aquierant ce libre esprit qu'ils se retourne contre Ains ~!, un peu comme dans Shaltear dans la saison 1 mais sans le controle mental!~. Nous pouvons également voir que la saison est découpé en 2 arc bien séparer avec l'arc des Hommes-Lézard au début et puis l'aventure de Sebas puis Momon l'aventurier comme suite. ~!Le seule point qui fait tâche selon moi, c'est qu'Ains ne chercher pas les gens qui ont controlé Shaltear mais attends qu'ils se montrent. Je sais qu'il faut être prudent mais quand même. Je trouve que se point est trop laissé à l'abandon.!~ Ce qu'il y a toujours se sont l'aspect commedie entre soit Albedo et Shaltear soit Shaltear et Aura ou juste dans les situations dans lesquelles se retrouvent Ains. ~! Comme avec Shaltear qui joue la chaise comme puinission pour s'être rebéllé dans la saison précedente.!~ Ce qui est pas mal, c'est que l'on voit quand même que qu'Ains est conscient qu'il ne peut pas tout faire seul, ~!c'est d'ailleurs pour ça qu'il va à la pêche aux informations avec Narberal en se fesant passer pour un aventurier !~ Ce que j'ai bien aimé aussi c'est de voir que Re-Estize est aussi gangréné par la pegre et que sous couvert de sauver le monde, l'Aventurier Momon est quand même en train de devenir leur boss. Mais aussi de voir qu'Ains n'est pas forcement le seul à être un peu fou. ~!La princesse tiens le bon bout avec la folie.!~ Ce que j'ai aussi apprecié, c'est de voir l'émencipation de Sebas et des gardiens qui font un peu comme ils veulent dans le seul but d'aider Nazarik ou pour Sebas, juste de faire comme son Créateur aurais fait. ~~~img(https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/overlordmaruyama/images/0/0f/Overlord_II_EP06_027.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/180?cb=20180216022538)~~~ ___Conclusion :___ __Overlord S2__ est une bonne suite où Ains reprends de son combat contre Shaltear et montre sa puissance et sa bonté avec les Hommes-Lézard mais aussi avec Sebas et Tuare, pour qui il n'y a pas de sanction mais même une récompense car Sebas à le droit de garde Tuare. De plus, on en apprends fachement sur la façon de pense de Sebas et des autres gardiens qui évoluent au fils du temps. Donc regarder le pour voir Ains toujours aussi OP et l'evolution des gardiens et des membres du grand Tombeau de Nararik. ~~~img(https://i.pinimg.com/236x/64/df/f7/64dff7d9639dc18532512f041e2f1ed6.jpg)~~~ PS : Désolé pour les fautes de français. Ceci n'est que mon avis personnel. Je ne vous empêche pas d'avoir un point de vue différent du mien. Je pense que tous les points de vue sont à prendre en compte tant qu'ils sont argumentés.
