SPOILER ALERT Wave it's probably one of the worst things i've ever seen in my life, they managed to take hoshiai no sora's place as the worst sports anime. Wave 3D is horrible, characters stuck and without fluidity. 2D is reasonable, but it has its errors in a few hours. I have to give a positive point to the color palette, it matched a lot with the anime. let's talk about character design: Wave is probably the anime with the ugliest characters I've ever seen. I thought it was not possible to create an ugly 2D character, but Wave showed me that it is possible. the only ones saved are Sho and Tanaka. the characters are boring, annoying and even tanaka can be boring with your ukulele. the other characters have generic and poorly developed personalities, which makes you have no attachment for any character. Let's talk about Masaki, the protagonist. he is irritating, with a superficial development and nothing special. I would like to highlight the choice of Maeno Tomoaki to be his voice actor. That was a mistake, despite being a great voice actress, the voice did not match and gave the impression that Masaki had the voice of a 40 year old man. the direction of this anime is also not very good, we can say that it is average. some very long framings made me angry. the direction didn’t pass the right emotion, the emotion we need to be able to make us cry over Sho’s death, for example. I just felt confusion watching the episode of his death, after all, it was really out of nowhere, it didn't match the mood of the anime and it doesn't make any sense. Now let's enter the soundtrack part: The only good part of Wave's songs is the first few seconds of complete silence before the generic song starts playing. My ears bleed listening to the songs of generic instrumentals and superficial lyrics about the beach, sea and friends. the story is boring, horrible and does not make you want to continue and see the result of the protagonist's tedious training. you are attracted only by the beauty of Sho and Nalu and are still disappointed to learn that Akitsuki dies for a stupid reason and Tanaka goes to another country. I want to take this opportunity to say that the biggest mistake at work was Sho's death. He died for a completely stupid reason and didn't fit the mood of the anime. In fact, what end was that? Is Sho alive or not? Was it a real body or were they those spirits that appear in anime? the ending is confusing. the whole anime is bad, of the various sports animes that were released in the winter season of 2021, Wave is certainly the worst of them. some parts are saved, but not worth mentioning. it is not an anime that I would recommend to anyone else, and if someone has recommended it, you can be sure that the person hates you seriously, it shouldn't have left Japan, we don't need works as bad as this one coming here. final note: 3/10, or 30/100.
