Tomodachi game is definitely one of the best season anime of Spring 2022. It maintain great mystery and packs a punch as story. There are always unknown variable. As watcher I was not able to predict what will and where it will lead to. Tomodachi game sets of with a group of friends in high school who trust each other a lot. As story progress, fund collected for school trip worth 2 million yen was stollen and person in-charge to keep money is a member of friends group. After some time all members of friends group were kidnaped and were send to play friends game or should I say Tomodachi game. Here they were forced to play some odd and random games where they they will earn money to replay their 20 million yen debt. As game progress debt decreases and increases according to game rules and progress. Next game starts if previous game is cleared. A person can only leave Tomodachi game if they have repaid their debt. [Plot]: Now here starts main story. As game was about to start they were told apparently one of the member gave 2 million yen to play game and now they have 20 million yen debt divided equally. Here begins game of trust and doubt. But there is more to Tomodachi game than eye meet. If someone who clears the game or is released tells anybody else about game, they will lose someone precious them and that person will also suffer. Losing something precious can even mean life of someone, which makes this game even more dangerous. Now we can understand how big Tomodachi game actually is and how much resource game management team have. There is more to plot but I think this is enough to give glimpse of story and it will be more fun if you watch. [Personal View]: At first I thought this series was good and all but there was always something missing. Later some of my doubts were cleared and for others I made my own theory. My theory was about viewers of Tomodachi game and how can they have so much support ( my theory is similar to the concept of the viewership in Omniscient reader's view point). Main character is also pretty well build. He is shown to be the type to change according to situation and he is well suited to play Tomodachi game as well. By suited to play I mean to break game(Spoiler aleart). I think this anime is pretty well adapted and concept is great. Suspense is well maintain throughout story. I am really looking forward to future season as well. Overall I think Tomodachi game is an excellent choice to watch. I don't know about manga but anime is definitely amazing and well made. This is my second review and I am not good at explaining and expressing myself. To improve myself I am started to write review. I might miss some point.
Great psychological anime with an intriguing and addicting story. (Contains mild spoilers) Tomodachi Game or Friends’ Game is a psychological anime with mind games about revealing each other's past and accepting them. Nowadays, many don’t know each other’s past, and that’s what the author wanted to explore, having the characters reveal their past to their friends. Though heavily over-exaggerated for the story, but makes for a thrilling anime with flashbacks now and then, putting a bigger puzzle together. The premise of Tomodachi Game is that the class has saved up two million yen for a school trip, but someone has apparently stolen them. To everyone’s surprise, later we discover that someone from the MC’s friend group has stolen them and used them to enter Tomodachi game, and here is where the plot begins. One of the first quotes we hear after they have entered is, “Always trust your friends.” The premise of the story, along with exposing each other's past, having to choose between money or friends, or accepting each other's past. The group is initially introduced as a solid group and has a good bond, but that’s put to the test through the Tomodachi game with various twists. Will they accept the others’ past, what they’ve done previously in their life before entering high school? One of the bigger conflicts throughout the series is the inner-personality of Yuuichi. His dual personality creates an interesting dilemma. They set it up in the first episode, where he is seen carrying about his friends while having a different side that cares about money. On one hand, he’s told money is the most important thing, whilst on another side, he’s told friends are the most important thing, and it correlates to a major theme of the series, friends or money. A common misconception surrounding Tomodachi Game is that it is a death game. It isn’t. It’s a game about testing the bonds of friendships and trusting each other through psychological mind games. The story is well-written and makes for an intriguing ride, filled with lots of cliff-hangers, and plot twists. It goes in directions that animes typically refrain from and takes a lot of risks, resulting in a refreshing storyline and plot twists compared to other psychology animes. It might not suit some's taste as it can go over the edge, and definitely is edgier compared to most series. The games are well-thought-out and are what makes the theme of trusting each other and revealing their pasts. Definitely over-exaggerated, but makes the themes that are present relevant. The theme wouldn’t apply to the story if the pasts’ were typical and realistic. The games are fast-paced. The story develops quickly, alongside the characters. It makes for an intriguing story, with cliffhangers, battles of wits, and a great cast. The fast-paced games definitely make for plot holes. That at first glance might not be relatively obvious, but at a deeper look, you will realize them. To me, plot holes don’t make the story bad, nor does it make it great. Let me give you an example. Code Geass: the plot twists are filled with tons of plot holes, but that matters little as they’re well-executed. Tomodachi Game executes it in the same way, the game might have plot holes here and there because of the fast pace, but they matter very little to the enjoyment. Characters At a first glance, they seem generic. Shibe is a typical rich kid, Sawaragi is the typical good girl, Kokorogi is the typical shy girl, and Tenji is the typical smart guy. Not to forget Yuuichi, who’s the typical main character with money issues, but through the games, we learn that they’re not “flat”. Everybody has a story with a past. Through fast-paced games, constantly filled with action, the characters are fleshed out and made complex. Yuuichi, probably being one of the best characters. His dual-personality caused by being told money and friends are the most important things in the world creates an interesting conflict for him. At times, he will say friends are the most important thing in the world, whilst other times, he will cut their bonds. He is contradictory, with the best moments of course being whenever he executes his schemes, which often highlight his dual-personality. He’s unpredictable, and it makes the mind games great. ~!In the second game, he took everyone’s nametag in the return for trusting them. In the third round, he used violence, and broke the bonds of the other group, just to name a few things.!~ Animation The animation is sort of miss and hit. It is great, and matches its atmosphere with the battles of wits, while at other times it downright does not. The character designs are generic and I know the characters are introduced as generic before later developing them, but it still misses occasionally. Often there are high stakes present, and the art style, etc does change for the better at these moments, but sometimes even for the high stakes being present, it keeps the generic animation and art style. Some episodes are well-put-together and have taken the right direction with how the animation feels compared to the mind-games, while other episodes either have generic action animation, and it affects the enjoyment for me, at least. ~!Some of the better animation/art style is mostly present when a twist occurs, and often changes to a black-white theme, which often works well alongside the great voice-acting. Especially Yuuichi’s inner monologues are done justice. . Animation-wise, it first started getting better during the second game, especially because of the sudden twist and the highly intense battle of wits, whilst the third game was a hit and miss with sometimes great animation and other times, rather generic. The third game was less intense, so I can understand it to an extent.!~ Sound The opening is IMO one of the best amongst this year so far. The soundtracks/themes, while not memorable, are solid and add value to the games. It was missing a bit in the earlier phase but began using music more, later on, adding a lot of value to the tense atmosphere. Enjoyment I enjoyed Tomodachi Game, even for the sometimes generic animation. Overall, it was a great ride and is the beginning of a much longer story that I hope we will see, eventually. I’ll give Tomodachi Game a score of 85/100, as it was really enjoyable with a great intriguing story.
Tomodachi was a fun ride, quite a rollercoaster full of plot twists with many changes of pace, but there is a lot to talk about because this is a really particular anime that, at my advise, got severely downgraded because of the slow first half of the anime, which is understandable because I was about to drop it too but I preferred to continue it. The premise of Tomodachi Game is really simple : you have to play a game with your friends and if you win it you are good to go with your debts but if you lose it then you are finished, the trick is that everyone has to trust each other because at the end this is a friendship game, right? What’s the problem here then? The show starts with someone who’s stoles money, a lot of them, and no one knows who it was and the same person made the group of the protagonists join the Tomodachi Game, for some reasons, and so everything starts. The gem of Tomodachi Game is that you will never know what’s the plan of each character and yet you can literally see it in front of your eyes with every idea and of it gets developed, it’s literally as if you were talking loudly to a deaf person : you are saying everything but the deaf person can’t understand, and so you are forced to patiently wait until the final result, which can be a surprise or no. This is Tomodachi Game, a game where the insanity is the main character and everything can break at any moment.
Before I start, personally, I haven’t watched a single death game anime, or even Squid Game actually, so I will not be making any comparisons to them. This is a strictly non-Squid Game comparison review. Ok, before you start saying “Who cares”, or “Who asked?”, let’s get into the review. For a series that is supposedly about friendship, the friendship concepts were tackled a bit superficially, and it became more of a series about Katagiri Yuuichi’s wit and him being a scumbag to solve problems. I expected a bit more characterization overall, and it really does feel we’re just scratching the surface of this series. However, the plot twists and Yuuichi’s character were definitely fun to watch, and one of the more enjoyable series of this anime season, but a bit edgy for sure. My grading criteria: Story: /25 Art: /10 Music: /10 Characters: /20 Enjoyment /15 Thematic Execution /20 *Spoilers below STORY: 17.2/25 The story is about five friends that get into a game called the Tomodachi Game, or Friends Game, after one of the five incurred a twenty million yen debt, and to pay off that amount, the group must clear a variety of games that test their friendships, and reveal their true colours. The first game, Kokkuri-san, is a game where the participants place a finger on a coin in the middle of a board. Then, a question is asked, and the participants place their fingers on the coin and push it towards the answer they think is correct. The questions are simple, but as expected, someone sabotages the game. This was by far the most boring and basic premise of the show, and very predictable. The next game, Bad-Mouth Sugoroku is a game where people bad mouth each other and submit the cards privately. The revelations, such as someone participating in compensated dating, and someone doing plastic surgery, are made to pit them against each other. This game was drawn out pretty long, and felt pretty shallow. It made the group of friends seem like they weren’t very close in the first place, since something pretty trivial, like doing plastic surgery, could cause a rift between the characters. A lot of these revelations create shock value, which in my opinion, is not a very good way to advance the plot. The third game was a simple hide and seek game, except the hider can’t move, so they can’t get any food. It felt like a battle of wits between the two teams, but in the end, it was a pretty anticlimactic conclusion, with violence just being the answer to everything. Expected a bit more from this. There are other backstories that I won’t go into here, but even though I have said a few negative things about each game, there are still positives, in that the suspense factor is handled pretty well, even if it relies heavily on shock value. Yuuichi’s struggles are always fun to see, and his ways to get through each game are enjoyable as well. ART: 6.2/10 The animation is fine, but a bit lacking. The expressions could have been handled even better to evoke that sense of “evil” from Yuuichi, and all the other emotions from the other characters. MUSIC: 8.9/10 Huge fan of both the opening and ending from this series. Nana Mizuki and Saji do a great job, and I never skipped them. The two themes were definitely a highlight of the show. CHARACTERS: 11.5/20 The characters were introduced very poorly, and the developments for most of them seem to just be scratching the surface of their characterization and backstories, but I have to say Yuuichi carries the cast, and I’m sure you agree. He has the most distinct personality overall, as he creates most of the shock value. He is a scumbag, but he’s not completely heartless, as we saw in the third game. He does some crazy things, and he’s fun to watch, but it gets a bit repetitive. The other characters each have their distinct personalities, but they just aren’t the most intriguing to watch. Tenji is arguably the more interesting one out of the remaining four friends, but as I said, we’d need Season 2 to see more of their backstories and developments. ENJOYMENT: 12.3/15 I did enjoy this series despite its flaws, it’s what I call “popcorn entertainment”, just watching chaos unfold every episode. THEMATIC EXECUTION: 10/20 This show really struggles at executing the theme of friendship well. If they are such good friends, they shouldn’t be fighting this easily. They know they are being tested in a game, and rifts in friendships is what the management want, so why play into their hands? The romance theme is just there to be another chaos creator. Of course everyone likes someone in the friend group, it just makes everyone lose their minds, and that is pretty realistic for sure. The world building, pretty atrocious. Rules need to be explained better, and there can't be that many convolutions that feel shallow. OVERALL: 66.1/100 A decent show which had good plot twists and a good main character in Yuuichi, but falls short on some story elements that I think could have been paced better to create a better plot. If you are a fan of mind games and plot twists, this is a solid one to watch, and if there is a continuation in the future, I’ll definitely watch it.
Tomodachi Game is a great anime for psychological fans. The harder you think, the more enjoyable these anime tend to be. This is what makes it hard to enjoy for anime fans that prefer not using their brain when watching anime. When I rate an anime, I take five categories into consideration: sound/music, visuals, characters, story, and ending. The sound is good, the opening is amazing, and the ending is great. The visuals are okay, and the creepy smile Yuichi gives is very thrilling. Yuichi is the main protagonist and he is one of my favorite characters out of every anime for three reasons. ~!First, his intelligence and brutality are refreshing amongst anime with protagonists that don't kill people who try to kill them, but it doesn't go too far and turn him into a monster. Second, his inner war between the value of money and the value of friendship makes him more interesting as a character. We see this when he keeps the friendship of the opposing team in game three intact and when he breaks his finger instead of Hyakutarou's finger. He doesn't lose his brutality because he explains that if his plan didn't work, he would've resorted to breaking Hyakutarou's finger instead. Lastly, his methods of healing his friends take a rough approach which I'll talk more about in the story category.!~
Tenji is the next most developed character out of Yuichi's group. ~!His main motivation for what he did during the second game is to claim revenge for what Sawaragi did to his friend group. You could claim that he should've cared more about his friends, but he does have guilt, it just doesn't outweigh his grudge against Sawaragi. His intelligence isn't anything to scoff at, and his loyalty to Yuichi is admirable.!~
Sawaragi, Shibe, and Kokorogi don't get much development other than the tidbits we learn from the second game, but they don't detract from the show. Kokorogi has an interesting conflict that I will discuss in the story category later. The five boys in the opposing team during the third game are all static characters, but they are round and not flat. All of them belong in the friend group, and the dynamics of their friendship are interesting to watch. Manabu is a flaw of the show. I wish they had done away with the non-realistic robot or costume or whatever it is, opting instead for an intercom and monitor system. It doesn't feel like it belongs in the anime, and it weirds me out. The workers that watch the games are static characters and relatively flat, but they make for an interesting perspective to watch from. The story is great. ~!From the first game that hooks you in on the first episode with many questions to who the bad guy is to the third game that establishes Yuichi's and Tenji's bond, most of the arcs are good.!~
The first game is perfect, and it sets up interesting questions for the viewer to ponder. ~!Who is everyone? Who's not voting with the others? Why aren't they doing so? Who has the debt?!~
The second game wasn't as interesting as the other two, but it provided more information on the characters. ~!The third game took the most developed characters of the group and focused on them, providing a really enjoyable watch. The way that they won was also unpredictable, and this anime shines in providing solutions that you can't easily figure out. The plot twists are also really entertaining. The beginning of the fourth game established that Yuichi cares about Kokorogi. This makes his harsh reprimanding of Kokorogi into an attempt to make her take her life into her own hands instead of relying on others. Kokorogi has a self-confidence problem, and this is the way Yuichi is trying to fix it. It's either that or Yuichi is manipulating Kokorogi into trusting him completely. The ending of the fourth game could justify this conclusion considering that he switched to good cop and didn't force Kokorogi into making a decision. Either way, it makes finding conclusions an interesting part of the story. The only problem I have with the story might be the way it tells us what Yuichi was trying to achieve and how he did it. This show's fans are going to be able to figure that out by the end without the explanation so it could do without. The famous quote, "Show, don't tell," applies here as well.!~
The ending was perfect. ~!It solidified Kokorogi and Tenji under Yuichi, and the exclusion of Yuichi in the fourth game makes an interesting break from the usual.!~
Let's just hope that Yuichi can manipulate Crunchyroll into giving us a season two.
It's not often that you find an anime that's so mind-bogglingly stupid that you can actually feel your brain cells dying in real-time. The characters are one-dimensional, the writing is terrible and it somehow manages to get worse every single episode. The main character is Kirito but he's also a fucking psychopath, yet the writers never fully commit to that idea and always come up with some convoluted way to keep him from going over the edge. The supporting cast are also mostly insane with a few exceptions and they range from okay to some of the worst characters I've seen in this medium. As for the games themselves, they're mostly fine but can be exploited in various ways, which seems to be the writers' intention yet I can't help but roll my eyes at some of the ways Yuuichi (the protagonist) manages to break the games. Did I also mention that there are also some background characters that narrate the games? They're mostly unnecessary and they seem to exist only for the purpose of depicting the main band of friends as underdogs. I find them annoying and I assume most people do. The show also relies a lot on overdramatic cliffhangers which I wouldn't have minded as much if they toned them down a bit because they feel kinda cheap. The OP and ED are fine but I wouldn't really go out of the way to listen to them again. Some people complained about the animation but I think it's fine, I was focusing on the show's more glaring issues anyways. You might be wondering why exactly I gave it a 1/10 and that's exactly because of how terrible the plot is but I won't really go into detail on that. Just watch an episode if you're really curious (preferably while being intoxicated as it would enhance the experience and perhaps make it bearable) and you'll be able to grasp what kind of show this is.~!To this very day, I still don't understand why they'd all agree to share the debt in the first episode. Actually I technically do but "muh friendship" is such a stupid excuse. Couldn't the writers think of anything better?!~ But yeah, I still don't get what people see in this anime. I only finished it out of sheer curiosity. I had 5 brain cells going into this and now I have like 2 (I think that's like half, I don't know anymore). That's still more than the combined total of ~!the second group of friends introduced in the hide-and-seek game.!~ Or even better, just watch Squid Game (let's be real, every single person on this planet has already seen it) because it's a pretty decent show. Anyways, I spent like 40 minutes writing this review (which is 40 minutes too many) so I should stop rambling and just go to bed. In conclusion, you'd probably be better off just hitting yourself in the groin continuously for several hours than watching this. Tomodachi Game bad, goodnight.
Synopsis: Tomodachi game is about a group of 5 friends who are trapped in the game to clear a debt of whopping 20 million yen from someone in their group. The games put the friendship of the 5 to the test as well as their selflessness and trust in each other. Each have their own doubts and intentions coming into the game but can they overcome it and clear their debts? ____ In this review, I will be touching upon certain aspect of the anime with reference to the first season which recently ended __Plot__ The concept of the show is pretty unique and given that it is psychological thriller, there is defiantly a wide range of characters who would go in conflict with each other due to differing purposes. This is exactly the case in this show where characters are placed in dilemma and are forced to make hard decisions and some sacrifices. The games are actually simple (not gory and violent like squid game) but the complicated group dynamics will prevent it from being straightforward and easy to win. The choices that they make may or may not surprise you. Mastermind Yuuichi's tricks and grand schemes are something to look forward to. In the first season, we are revealed a little about everyone's past but everything is not entirely clear. __Characters__ The main 5 are definitely different in their own ways and have mysterious pasts unknown to each other. However, the supporting characters are entertaining as well, such as the admins. The role of the admins are to commentate the games and observe the players so they add to the suspense of the games through their predictions. The psychological aspect of the show is also highlighted as they try to speculate the thought process of the players. There will be characters which will annoy you but that's the beauty of the show. The show will take you on an emotional journey on who to sympathise and who to oppose. __Animation__ The animation was a good too, with special effects to show different sides of the characters. The scenes which showed their thought process and their scheming was also very well done and made the show enjoyable to watch. Voice acting also brought the characters to life. However, in certain high stake situations I was hoping for the drama to be more intensified and expressions to be more dramatic as well. Special mention for the very catchy OP, I did not skip a single one. Overall, the show was gripping and made me come back for every episode. The first seasons focused on the nature of the enigmatic game and gave a brief introduction to the characters. It left off on dramatic end and it left us with more questions than answers. Highly looking forward to season 2
The core premise of Tomodachi Game is not awful: five friends find themselves playing a high-stakes game in order to pay off the debt of someone in the group. For a high stakes game anime the premise is pretty basic but could make for some interesting character backstories and theorization about their true intentions. The execution of this premise, however, leaves much to be desired. The editing in the show is filled with over-dramatic cuts and edits to emphasize each character's devious face, conniving personality etc. rather than just letting their actions speak for themselves. This in particular is a major pitfall of the show. Namely, the show spoon-feeds emotions and information to the audience to the point some scenes become redundant. For instance, the show contains administration figures that provide commentary on the game and the players and ultimately serve a dual role by making them a stand in for the audience. In certain contexts that can be a helpful story-telling tool to provide more clarity on situations that are a bit vague or confusing. However, there are instances where they will spend several minutes discussing a unambiguous event that we just witnessed or an event that has already been given sufficient exposition. In cases such as these it just comes off as either 1) padding out the material or 2) the author does not trust the audience to make their own inferences and therefore must spell it out for them. In another lazy attempt at adapting the manga to an anime format, the show will at times splatter text on-screen that provides details on the game rules or background information on newly introduced characters. In a manga format this type of long-text is fine since the reader can review the information at their own pace. However, in this anime adaptation this text will flash for about one second before transitioning to the next scene, leaving the viewer little to no time to review that information unless they go out of their way to pause the episode. Rather than trying to come up with a creative way to breakdown large swathes of text (ie character exposition, anime-only scenes) the show is lazy and just seems to copy and paste whole manga panels without regard as to whether this works in an anime format. It’s not even like these long batches of text are always needed. For instance, in some of the games Manabu will verbally discuss the rules that were previously quickly flashed on screen. This makes you wonder, if you’re just going to have one of the characters verbally review the rules anyways, what’s the point of adding the large swathes of text? This is one of the many bizarre manga to anime adaptation choices that were made for this show. *Spoilers ahead* *tw: sexual assault* If there are any positives, it was that I was never really bored when watching Tomodachi Game. There’s some intrigue there in terms of the character backstories and their intentions and the origination of the game. In addition, while certainly not intended by the creators of the show, the edgy editing and cuts made for an unintentionally hilarious watch. If it was just these issues then I would recommend the show if you’re in the mood for an ironic watch. However, it is not just bad editing and storytelling that makes this show abysmal but also its mishandling of sexual assault. It is revealed in the show that Kokorogi, due to frequent bullying and subsequently needing to pay people to be friends with her, would date older men in exchange for money. This eventually leads to her having to pose for suggestive photos and almost being sexually assaulted. These types of storylines need to be handled delicately to avoid coming off as exploitative. Unsurprisingly, the show does not handle her character well. Leading up to her attempted assault the camera leers at Kokorogi’s body despite this being a horrific scene. A similar situation happens in the last episode of the series in which a group of guys cut open Kokorogi’s shirt to have her breasts nearly exposed. Her breasts remain exposed for most of this scene with little purpose other than to showcase how devious the villains in the scene are. I will give the show some credit that it doesn’t seem to use this scene for titilation, however, it seems to rely on violating Kokorogi for the sake of shock value. With this in mind, Tomodachi Game is no longer just a ridiculous high stakes gaming anime but one that attempts and fails to responsibly handle sensitive topics. Entertaining for mostly the wrong reasons, Tomodachi Game leaves little room for any sort of recommendation.
~~~__Tomodachi Game (ou Jogo da Amizade)__~~~ ~~~img220(https://i.imgur.com/MXORd8t.png)~~~ ~~~__Um resumo da obra__~~~ Cinco amigos e estudantes do colegial são o foco da história (Yutori Kokorogi, Shiho Sawaragi, Makoto Shibe, Tenji Mikasa and Yuiichi Katagiri), eles iriam viajar com os colegas da classe com o dinheiro que arrecadaram, porém este foi roubado, muito provavelmente pelos membros do conselho que o administravam: Shiho Sawaragi e Makoto Shibe. Devido a este transtorno e precisando recuperar esse dinheiro é encontrada uma solução para resolver essa dívida, um dos cinco amigos anonimamente, os colocam em uma aposta para se livrar desse problema, conhecido como Tomodachi Game. Este contém diversos grupos de pessoas que são colocadas perante diversos jogos com o objetivo de diminuir suas dívidas ou até zerá-las. ~~~__Opinião/Crítica__~~~ Uma história que traz “alguns” recursos interessantes. Como se trata de um jogo de estratégia e lealdade (pelo menos na teoria), entre o grupo, dá para se estabelecer diversos obstáculos e favores, estabelecendo que ela na maior parte do tempo passa pelos olhos do protagonista Yuiichi. Uma forma de demonstrar lealdade para uma pessoa é a demonstração do valor de sua dívida, que está por baixo do crachá com o nome a mostra, porém cada vez que se faz isso, esse valor dobra, assim contribuindo com o peso de sua demonstração. Já um obstáculo (pelo menos para esse grupo) é o anonimato do responsável de colocá-los no Tomodachi Game, sendo assim, muito provavelmente o culpado do roubo é o mesmo que os colocou no jogo, podendo ser um dos 4 amigos do grupo. Mas no geral os elogios terminam aí. O que resume Tomodachi Game é o roteiro desastroso, extremamente edgy, diversos recursos baratos, mal desenvolvimento de personagem, uma animação no geral inconsistente e estática na maior parte do tempo, enfim, são tantos problemas que é até difícil de mencionar todos. A melhor coisa é tentar abordar primeiro os jogos e depois o resto. ~~~__Primeiro jogo__~~~ ~~~img220(https://i.imgur.com/I8xrD53.jpg)~~~ Tem uma ideia legal e com certeza foi o melhor jogo. Já é usado um dos pontos positivos que faz jus ao nome da obra, a amizade, colocando ela em risco com situações que valem ou não traí-la. Este se resume a um jogo semelhante ao ouija, no qual o grupo coloca a mão sobre uma peça, caso todos concordem com o que foi falado, a peça desloca para uma posição, porém caso pelo menos um discorde ela se desloca para outra. Cada uma das rodadas um participante deve ler uma carta que está escrito algo (pelo menos é o que se espera), essa carta não pode ser mostrada para os outros. A grande sacada é, caso todos concordem, é diminuída a dívida geral, porém se não acontecer isso a dívida e com uma restrição, a pessoa que lê tem algum adicional positivo ou negativo que interfere na sua dívida com uma escrita a caneta. No geral ele funciona bem, mas lembrando da tinta tem um problema crítico, é impossível esquecer que ela desaparece misteriosamente no tempo correto, após a finalização do jogo, assim não é possível saber o que levou as suas decisões ao longo da rodada, um recurso barato e problemático. ~~~__Segundo jogo__~~~ ~~~img220(https://i.imgur.com/IZbOMTv.jpg)~~~ Outro que é interessante mas se prende muito mais na proposta que na execução. É um jogo que tem como objetivo escrever algo sobre alguém contando um segredo, um jogo de sugoroku. É votado pelos espectadores virtuais o que acham sobre as revelações, quanto maior a quantidade de votos, mais casas irão andar (de 1 a 5), além de existir a possibilidade de todos deixarem o papel branco e assim andar somente uma casa. O primeiro que chegar no final é acrescentado uma multa de 1 milhão e o resto tem um prêmio de 400 mil ienes, além que conforme ande no tabuleiro podem acontecer diversas coisas. O plano feito pelo protagonista contém tantas falhas, além das conveniências e explicitudes para o leitor conseguir entender, sem uma profundidade de fato que permitisse uma vitória clara, tudo é superficial. Como reagir a mais de um traidor, se outros não colaborarem, como reagir caso alguém desconfie de você por tentar montar planos mirabolantes, enfim tudo fica na superficialidade e essas questões que trariam problemas claros num ambiente real não foram tratadas. Como é um jogo estratégico que necessita mostrar a inteligência do protagonista, o melhor é deixar os detalhes a fim que o próprio leitor perceba e consiga desenvolver um plano passível de ser explorado no jogo, ao invés de usar A PIOR COISA DE LONGE DO ANIME INTEIRO, um completo desrespeito com a inteligência do espectador. Simplesmente algumas personagens extremamente descartáveis contando cada coisa que ele está pensando ou fazendo. O contraponto com o jogo de estratégia é tão evidente que chega a ser cômico. De duas possibilidades a chance de uma delas estar certa é quase absoluta. Ou é incompetência na hora de montar uma história e tornar ela de fato complexa recorrendo ao uso de recursos baratos para tentar transformar um personagem em inteligente, porém da pior forma possível, sendo só um fracasso. Ou simplesmente o autor não sabe o que está fazendo e tenta desenvolver outro gênero dentro de uma obra de estratégia que assim entra em conflito com o maior ponto deste. Somado a um erro grotesco que vai contra o próprio gênero da obra, temos outro problema grave para a execução dos jogos. A velocidade e o jeito que as regras são passadas para os personagens, acontece tanto no primeiro como no segundo, no geral são textos extremamente rápidos que são impossíveis de ler certas vezes (não faço ideia de como alguém assistindo na TV leria aquilo), mas se justamente as estratégias surgem das regras, como caralhos vou conseguir pensar em algum plano sem conseguir lê-las. Uma maneira muito mais adequada seria de fato mostrá-las em execução como foi feito no terceiro jogo. Mesmo tendo alguns buracos e problemas com esse jogo, como plot twists retardados, informações impossíveis de se ter conhecimento (como se alguém fez algum crime durante a vida inteira dela em algum momento, sim, meteram uma prova diabólica na cara dura mesmo), o exagero gritante do edgy, ainda tem algumas coisas que se salvam…diferente do próximo jogo. ~~~__Terceiro jogo__~~~ ~~~img220(https://i.imgur.com/14Pfzye.jpg)~~~ Ok, temos novamente uma ideia interessante de um jogo, cujas regras desta vez são bem apresentadas. O problema? A execução. Primeiro começando com o pré-jogo. Após a finalização do segundo, Yuiichi e Tenshi precisam ficar em uma prisão com água e comida limitada por alguns dias. Tudo isso para contar um flashback da motivação do traidor do grupo, ou seja, foi um recurso barato do roteiro. Nesse é mostrado que Tenshi já participou de um Tomodachi game anterior com Sawaragi, a qual traiu ele e após a libertação do mesmo, contou ao seu pai sobre o jogo, quebrando assim uma das regras e teve seu pai assassinado. Assim mesmo ocorrendo a traição, tem uma pessoa muito pior que ele, que precisa de atenção, porém Tenshi não tem provas para demonstração do que ele disse, mesmo dobrando sua dívida como forma de lealdade para o Yuiichi acreditar nele. Após a finalização do pré-jogo, vem de fato o jogo, um esconde-esconde onde temos duas equipes numa imensa floresta que estão competindo para ver quem encontra o líder do time adversário primeiro. As principais restrições, regras e recursos desse jogo são: depois que escondido não pode se mover mais, não é permitido machucar um membro do outro grupo, é possível trair seu grupo e ir para o outro (pelo menos durante esse jogo) e também é possível para quem esteja escondido, desistir. Caso o time perca, a dívida sobe e, caso ganhe, a dívida diminui. A competição ocorre entre um grupo com 5 pessoas formada somente por homens e o outro o grupo que já conhecemos porém é acrescentado mais uma garota de última hora nele. O que movimenta as estratégias desse jogo são: fazer com que seu adversário o machuque, fazer com que alguém do outro time o traia e exponha a localização da pessoa escondida entre mais algumas possibilidades. E demorou demais, o tédio é a palavra chave para ele, pois não preparou nada, só fez mal uso do tempo, mesmo com algumas estratégias interessantes no geral ele é insanamente entediante. Desde de tentar aliar a garota ao outro time e assim abalar sua amizade até tentar de forma forçada fazer com que o outro time sinta raiva e o machuque. Além de claro, o tempo focando no Tenshi que vai ficando com fome e paranoico pensando em desistir constantemente e, mesmo sendo óbvio que isso não iria ocorrer. No fim, o Yuiichi como o "gênio" que é, consegue traçar a personalidade de todas as pessoas, ao invés de utilizar realmente de relações que o espectador podia interpretá-las, prefere ser tão barato, ao ponto de entregar uma imagem de 5 seg contando todas as relações e características dos rivais, que têm muita informação simplesmente tirada do ??? por meio de arquétipos de personagem. Sinceramente só vale a pena descrever o final dele que é, chato. Após uma das pessoas do time rival trocar de lado para defender a garota e também ser revelado que a verdadeira mente do grupo é outra pessoa, Yuiichi se utiliza de uma estratégia besta. Simplesmente subornar o líder escondido do time inimigo por meio da violência do seu amigo que trocou de lado. Como um ótimo amigo, ele desiste ao ver que Yuiichi iria quebrar seus dedos, relembrando que é um jogador de basquete dedicado e teria uma carreira perdida, tendo que aceitar assim. Ainda perante essa situação o Tenshi foi encontrado porém posteriormente a vitória do Yuiichi, já que a garota do seu time o trai e entrega a posição do seu parceiro ao "gênio" do time rival. Como espectadores temos que aceitar que um método de vitória bobo foi usado, ele não é inteligente, só é sem graça, mesmo naquele contexto só é frustrante a resolução. ~~~__Jogo extra__~~~ ~~~img220(https://i.imgur.com/8gyARIh.jpg)~~~ A coisa mais burra, desconexa, sem sentido que colocaram. Por que essa parte existe? Ela acontece após o terceiro jogo onde Tenshi e Yuiichi podem sair para o mundo exterior momentaneamente e vão atrás da Sawaragi para descobrir de fato se ela é ou não quem o Tenshi diz ser. Ao longo dessa situação Shibe é preso e seu pai assassinado pela mesma situação do Tenshi. Além disso, uma das garotas do grupo é sequestrada e usada de refém para um novo jogo. Não se sabe como esse grupo tem acesso às pessoas do Tomodachi Game, quem eles de fato são, simplesmente surgem porque sim, com o objetivo da narrativa de mostrar da forma mais explícita e preguiçosa possível de que o menino Yuichi também tem um lado bom. Neste jogo Yuiichi ou Kokorogi vão passar por sessões de tortura, e é isso, acabou, simplesmente isso. Após essa sessão de tortura e serem libertados Yuiichi faz uma proposta ao líder deles de um jogo de jo ken pô por dinheiro…? Caso Yuiichi perda dará 10 milhões de ienes para e 1 para cada um do seu grupo, se ganhar irá torturar o sequestrador. Tudo consiste no seguinte, a derrota permite que Yuiichi arranque diferentes quantidades de dedos: pedra, 0, tesoura, 2 e papel, 5. Se usando de jogos de palavras por ter uma mão machucada faz seu adversário ter conclusões erradas por meio de jogos de palavras e assim o derrota provando diversos pontos sobre ele. No fim obviamente ninguém irá aceitar assim perder os dedos, mas os responsáveis pelo Tomodachi Game invadem o local no momento exato permitindo assim o desenrolar final. Eu não tenho nada além de dúvidas do porque isso existe, de longe o maior fiasco, simplesmente uma das piores coisas desse roteiro de longe. ~~~__O resto__~~~ Opening do youtube: ~~~youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwizUxX_XLY)~~~ Eu sinceramente gostei, desde a música até a própria animação e storytelling. O desenvolvimento dos personagens e atuação deles na obra é inexistente ou superficial, aparecendo somente no momento que interessa. Sem história e presos a personalidades já recicladas tantas vezes que se tornam mais alguns bonecos unidimensionais. O máximo que será achado são alguns flashbacks ou certos personagens virando "servos" de outros. O esquecido até então Tomodachi... ~~~img220(https://i.imgur.com/DJnUbvK.jpg)~~~ ...só existe para propaganda e nada mais que isso (aliás que 3d feio da porra). Além de como já deve ter ficado explícito, a presença do diretor é quase nula e quando ele atua dificilmente acerta no que faz. E para fechar com chave de ouro, art characters... ~~~img220(https://i.imgur.com/hQorOfI.jpg)~~~ ...que com certeza o dall e mini faria melhor, simplesmente personagens com design completamente esquecível. ~~~__Conclusão__~~~ Tomodachi causou hiperculturemia para todo seu público com tamanha quebra de gênero de estratégia, causando diversas alucinações em seu público fazendo com que vissem maravilhas para possuir uma nota tão alta. Caso queira um comparativo de qualidade, não está muito distante de Munou na Nana. Ele pode ser resumido como mais um fracasso como obra, o qual ofende a própria inteligência do leitor, preguiçoso, geralmente com ideias boas porém mal executadas. Mesmo assim teve uma boa aceitação, permitindo assim, possivelmente, a existência de uma segunda temporada. E deixando essa análise completa, fica uma das piores e mais "importantes" frases do anime. ___"Além disso, a coisa mais importante para mim não é o dinheiro. São amigos"___ ___Yuiichi, Katagiri - 2022___
A remarkable display of incompetence in animation and writing—Tomodachi Game is a pathetic example of everything wrong with psychological anime today. The first sign that something is horribly wrong is the introduction of the main characters. Each one has a freeze-frame to display their name at the start. When you think the writing couldn't get any lazier, they add a synopsis of their personality, weaknesses, and relationships. I wouldn't be watching the show if I wanted to read a wiki page. The main cast is a group of five archetypal high school friends; three angsty guys and two girls defined by trauma. The girls are utilized for (often deplorable) fan service and to motivate the men. Kicking off the anime is a theft—their class savings for a field trip have disappeared! Soon after, the five friends are suddenly kidnapped! Upon waking up in a strange place, a creepy robot mascot introduces himself as Manban and enthusiastically tells them they're in the "Tomodachi Game." He elaborates they will have to play a series of kids' games to pay off a costly debt given to them by a traitor in their group. It should take 5 seconds to realize these games are engineered to tear friendships apart. But it takes hours for them to realize this because the dialogue is primarily spent on dumping a metric ton of exposition: Explaining each game's rules, getting taunted by the obnoxious mascot, and monologuing their strategies. The script consists only of a tedious back and forth between unbearable characters. Though the show would like you to believe the protagonist, Yuuichi, is a cold and calculated genius with a method to his madness, he often comes off as an unhinged idiot pretending to be smarter than he is. Plot contrivances and loopholes are the only reason he gets away with his half-baked strategies. Yuuichi is engineered for the viewer to live vicariously through him; his sociopathic behavior has minimal repercussions. It simplifies complex social dilemmas and hardly invites any moral discussion. At the drop of a hat, he flip-flops between earnest and psychopathic—why these kids were friends is the real mystery. Tomodachi Game is only a "mystery" in the sense that the author works backward in many parts to explain the absurd plot twists, not through craft or tension. After trying to dazzle us with an unexpected twist, Yuuichi rewinds his intellectual strategy to explain everything. One of Tomodachi Game's favorite gimmicks is starting from the end of the episode; they bait you with the result and then tediously detail the play-by-play. Unless you're invested in seeing a pretentious kid outsmart a pack of stereotypical teenagers, you'd be better off doing something more enjoyable, like watching paint dry or eating a bowl of nails. Occasionally the show pauses to crosscut between the game itself and a group of unknown women in a security room. The women watch the game while obnoxiously narrating what we can see with our own two eyes. Manban runs the game himself, so the security room serves no functional purpose. They only exist to spoon-feed plot twists and explain character dynamics like we're brainless zombies who consume every shitty anime without caring about quality. Speaking of quality, the visuals look like an amateur studio's first anime made on a shoestring budget. Due to rushed artwork, the freakish facial expressions during intense scenes look like a cheap imitation of Kakegurui and Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji. Meanwhile, Manban looks like the artists took him out of a Playstation 2 game because of his ridiculous CGI model. The soundtrack is almost as remarkable as the art, not for making the story better, but because it creates as much tension as elevator music. It's incredible how generic and repetitive it is. I'm in awe of how little effort went into sound editing because every scene must fight through the awful music to reach the audience. The profoundly confusing music choices make the mishmashed tone even more confused. I couldn't blame the composer if they were purposefully sabotaging the intellectually bankrupt story. All bark and no bite summarizes Manban, who simultaneously manages to be a threatening and toothless antagonist. Repeatedly, he reminds the students about the unfathomable amount of money at stake because it is such a lame consequence. How will the debt be granted to them upon completing the game? How will they be forced to repay the debt? Any explanations they do give are vague at best. There's little reason to care without solid consequences established right off the bat, aside from PG-13 violence. Manban's anti-violence rule prevents blood or gore for most of the runtime, which would serve a psychological thriller like this quite well. Except, the mechanics of each game don't create stakes. Instead, they focus more on petty drama in the group and the monetary repercussions of losing. If psychological warfare is what you're looking for, you're shit out of luck because these mind games wouldn't even outsmart a kid. Though Death Note may have inspired it with all of the mind games, it lands closer to its inbred cousin Platinum End. The thrill comes from wondering what will happen next, even though technically—for most of the anime's runtime—absolutely nothing is happening. Concepts are presented, but it's unclear how they affect the story. There's no explanation for what should be explained, like how the game is being live-streamed and why viewers' reactions affect the game results. The issue with a writer throwing random shit at the wall to see what sticks is obvious: nearly every anime needs internal logic–a sense of the anime's rules and a feeling of sturdy foundation. Without internal logic, everything is just pointless. Later into the show, an entirely new crew of even less interesting high school students enters the limelight. Yet again, name tags and personality descriptions introduce them: a shining example of the laziest character writing that anime offers. Why should we care about these people? Who knows! Why are new characters getting added when the original ones are as flat as pancakes? By the time the last game finishes, it's hard to care. Initially, it appears as if Tomodachi Game is just another pretentious psychological anime about a lone genius trapped in a world of morons where everyone misunderstands him. Then, it rapidly spirals into a pit of idiotic narrative turns, astoundingly lazy character development, and stuffed with so many plot contrivances it's almost funny. The result is a confused, awkward, tedious state in limbo. Is Tomodachi Game good? No, it certainly is not. It wanted to be a thriller, but it unintentionally became a comedy, but it wasn't funny even enough to be worth watching ironically.
I decided to watch this anime because of my friend. He was praising how good and creative the death games are. What I didn't know was that he meant the manga... not the anime... _Spoilers~_ be warned ~~~PROBLEMS _Unintentionally funny moments_ Let's look at the genres: drama, mystery, psychological, thriller. While watching the anime there was a traitor among the main cast, someone has willingly put everyone into a potentially life or death game and when the traitor was revealed this is the face I saw: img(https://i.pinimg.com/564x/8a/1a/32/8a1a32fb0ee310641c9d4da96c48ffac.jpg) I couldn't help but wheeze so hard at this. He be looking like this guy: img100(https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/867/878/32d.png) So considering this is a __PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER__ I expect at least some clever ways of tricking the viewer or the characters. So 3rd game begins and the big strategy, to trick the other team is to make a girl stand in her underwear... are they for real?...LMAO I can't even handle how stupidly funny that was. _Observers_ img300(https://anime.atsit.in/de/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/ende-des-tomodachi-spiels-erklart-hat-yuichi-erfolgreich-gewonnen.jpg) (Why is Touka from Tokyo Ghoul here) There is nothing more annoying than these two explaining everything to me. It's like im treated as a baby and being fed while being said "Here comes the choo choo train". Isn't this suppost to be a psychological thriller? What's the point in babying the viewer eatch step. img300(https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BODNiZjNlMzEtMjg2YS00NGI2LTgzZjctZjhhZjQ4OTY2MTA0XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTk1MjM3OTQ@._V1_.jpg) OMG WHY DID THEY ADD A 3RD ONE (all I remember is her boobs honestly) _Plot_ First half: OH NO I'M PSYCHOLOGICLY SCARED AT HOW FUNNY THIS IS. At least the first half was mostly that, before the third game. The plot twists at the start felt so unimpactful since, It's so edgy and the cliches were killing me. Another issue was the host or I guess the mascot Manabu, he didn't help any more too, because how am I supposed to be thrilled with this goofball around. Second half: When we got into the third game with two teams K vs C it got more interesting and at times I enjoyed myself. What was the biggest improvement is Kei vs Yuuichi. Another thing I liked was Maria entering the game too. Overall The plot treats the viewer not only like a baby but an idiot too, so many plot holes, edgy plotwist after another plotwist and after another one makes the watcher take the story less seriously. Oh, what's going to happen next? Someone's dad dies again? No way right? But thanks for it having the edginess level to such high degrees it's actually entertaining in a funny way. As a psychological thriller it falls into below average story writting. CHARACTERS Tenji Mikasa [img300(https://media.tenor.com/1TCAyEoC1uwAAAAC/mikasa-tenji-tomodachi-game.gif) ](https://tenor.com/view/mikasa-tenji-tomodachi-game-shiho-sawagiri-gif-26229704) This creepy weirdo was the funniest thing in this whole dumb show. His personality and motives changed like 5 times from being shown as the most intelligent, rational guy to a sick freak who is too into his ex (god what was that scene with him naked together with her), then the guy claims to be gay then pulls out the sike card again and he is not gay and says "oh yeah the ex I was obssesed with is all a lie I hate her". I have never been more confused about a character like this. But he definitely got the worst luck and suffered the most trough the whole anime. Yuuichi Katagiri img300(https://media.tenor.com/LL2qsGGuAFkAAAAC/yuuichi-katagiri.gif) Sicko number two (like seriously is he some sociopath or psychopath). Alright, this guy is one of the more interesting protagonists I've seen in anime. This dude's personality did a 180 and _this_, not going to lie interested me. The good acting and multiple bamboozles he does to everyone are fun. He brings the thrill aspect into this garbage anime plot. He is so unpredictable, one moment he acts one way the other contradicts everything he says. His motives to me are confusing and unknown, I can never see what random weird thing he will pull next. The reveal of him being a murderer at the start didn't surprise me at all though, thanks to the edginess from the beginning and the observers constantly saying something is weird about him. So if that had to surprise me, it didn't. Kei Shinomiya img200(https://i.pinimg.com/736x/bd/be/a7/bdbea744b329348adb26dac0f92450d4.jpg) The true leader of Group K turns out to be this baby face. A challanger for Yuuichi? He is as sharp as him so at least we got more than one entertaining character. He definitely has potential, too bad we got to see him for such a short while. (Why did he get spanked on the butt)~~~ Good qualities __Opening __- they did a great job at animating and the song itself so catchy. __Trashy gold comedy__ - the fun comes from not having to use my brain and enjoying how stupid the plot is. This trashy show.... it's so bad it's funny. Conclusion After watching this anime I felt brain dead but at least I had a lot of laugher of how god awful this plot was.
