First a brief summary: our MC, Satoru Mikami, as known as Rimuru, got stabbed by a thug and resurrected in another world as a slime with incredible powers and an inner assistant who helps him to understand what's happening and allow a sort of auto-attack fight mode. Let's start looking closely to the settings and the plot. PLOT: 4/10 As you can see, the plot is pretty generic, the author hasn't even found a good death to isekaify MC: it's been just a mere person running with a knife (without apparent reasons since nobody was following him) that casually killed him... Probably the writer's kindergarten's teacher always scolded him for running with his safety scissors. Anyway, while MC was dying, he started to regret his way of living and every sentence said is listened by what will become his inner assistant. This undefinite being grants him OP abilities: who's they? Why's helping him? We just don't know. Whatever the reason, he reborns in a new fantasy world where steampunk and medioeval settings coexist, starts collecting ~~girls for his harem~~ resources, leveling up and doing thing out of boredom. Rimuru just leaves himself flow with the current of events, he has no objective, he just wants to entertain himself while helping others. After some generic interactions, he fights wolves and founds a village. After a while, he defeats an army of 200.000 orcs and hires them to build an even bigger city in his territory, the Jura Forest. With the blessing of driads, who care and should defend the woodland, Rimuru's little town becomes a Capital. But now let's see some plotholes: - How could a town of fifty goblins and some Ogres sustain a so wild immigration (200k orcs, remember) without collapsing to a starving favela? - How could Rimuru assure safety and salaries to 200k new citizien without a stable economy and without any local currency? Remember goblins used to bargain and hunt in the wood. - Why did driads accept the destruction of the forest in order to take resources for the city's expansion? - Why does everyone love to suck slime's d***? CHARACTERS: 4/10 here's the tipical meeting between Rimuru and others: Person: "Oh, a stupid slime is blocking my path, prepare to die!" _Rimuru farts at their general direction_ Person: "Please accept my oath, Rimuru-sama!" Really, they're all so generic: there's the quiet edgy ninja, the arrogant prince felt in disgrace, the little princess in distress, 2 goofy side-character meant to be laught at (Gabil and Gobta), the super buffed, prideful ruler that all he does in order to make alliances which will define the future of his kingdom is brawls, a wise but weak ruler, and then... you know... F A N S E R V I C E I mean, tons and tons of fan service. I'm not against it, but damn, there're characters who would be easily fogotten if they didn't have great Oppais (Shion). All this takes me to give a low vote to the characterization. ARTS AND EFFECTS: 6.5/10 average effects, there's some lame cgi (Orcs army was almost like the Goblin Army from Overlord 3), but overall is acceptable. at least Oppais are always bouncing and clothes' movement are well animated. MUSIC and OST: 6.5/10 nothing incredible, the op are discrete, and the there're some (ripetitive) ost that just works. OVERALL: 4.5/10 Is your time worthless? Even if that case, I don't suggest to spend time watching this anime. Nonick96
This show is just amazing. I originally had not intended to watch this back when it started in Fall 2018. However when my roommate was in stitches about it and I saw the latter half of episode one I knew skipping this show would be a huge mistake. Rimuru is not your typical isekai protagonist. Yeah he falls for the normal quirks of the genre but does so out of irony, not because "the plot dictates that you now are super powerful". Yes he becomes an OP monster (literally) and can do whatever he wants. However the choices he makes are his own based on his will - not others. The season goes through a few different phases of being a slow SoL kind of isekai following Rimuru and his rather eccentric followers around doing day to day things. Then the show always progresses smoothly into each new arc. Now each arc does seem to be a little rushed at times (particularly the last two). However being a anime only individual this only comes from others complaining about it. What makes this show for me is its amazing animation and characters. Animation wise this show is top notch. Nothing ever felt neglected or rushed. Fight scenes were clean and smooth with vivid colors and animation that complimented well and did distract you. Little details such as continuity of characters in the full frame of view was also nice to see. Rimuru (while in slime form) was so expressive and clearly the team had a ton of fun making new forms and faces for him. Rimuru's VA was also amazing. Apparently she is new to the industry and I honestly never would of known. Speaking of sounds the music of the show was also really good. It captured moments really well and accented interactions without sounding forced. The OP and ED's for the season were also really good as well. I especially liked how OP1 and ED1 told a story of its own in the animation that could be stitched together. Characters were another big selling point. The cast is full of eccentric and cute characters to get to know and see interact with Rimuru. From Shizu being super protective to the point of being yandere, to Milim being adorably deadly almost every base is covered in the central cast of the show. Even the male side is represented with Gabiru (who I am certain is Kazuma reincarnated again...) to Ranga (who is clearly best boi for the whole season), and more! The story seems to piece itself together slowly over the season allowing us time to digest and enjoy everything we experience. While there is definitely climaxes for every arc the whole picture was still missing. It is definitely hinted at at various points of the show it really isn't the main focus. It is more of getting to know and understand everyone while continuing to explore the world. With season 2 announced I am sure this is just the warm up for Rimuru and friends. I can't wait to see what other adventures of slime goes on and how the story progresses forward.
When was the last time a light novel adaptation or isekai tried to be straightforward? Nothing fancy, nothing repetitive or self-indulgent, just simple. With the likes of Re:Zero, Akashic Records, Overlord, and Mahouka, it’s become harder and harder to find an LN or isekai show that just wants to entertain (parodies like Konosuba don't count cuz fuck you). Even many of the “simpler”, “safer” anime like The Asterisk War and Isekai wa Smartphone fail to realize that we just want something simple and satisfying. That’s probably why Slime is as popular as it is. It just wants to entertain us with a fun, digestible isekai world for an adorable protagonist to build in and explore. Not to mention, it does so with some decent visuals, good music, and the sense of whimsey you’d expect from a show about being in a game-like world. That’s not to say the show never gets violent, that it never indulges in typical LN and isekai cliches, or even that it’s a good show. It’s just that Slime values entertainment above all else, never overindulging to the point of stupidity or alienation. Frankly, this is the first isekai in years to not suck. Slime’s visuals are honestly strange. It doesn’t really feel like it was made in 2018 or 2019. Something about this odd and inconsistent art style doesn’t feel like something you’d see nowadays. While the art style certainly feels unorthodox, a lot of the facial expressions are priceless and adorable as a result, particularly with Rimuru’s slime form. The sheer liveliness of some of the environments trumps even the likes of No Game No Life, which is arguably the most visually stunning isekai on the market. The show often experiments with different styles, like swapping between anime and photorealistic footage when getting us acquainted with Rimuru’s slime form in episode 1, or when he fantasizes about hot elves and they’re drawn in a 90s aesthetic. Several moments in the show, along with the first ED, also add a sort of digital, VR-like filter to whatever’s happening onscreen. Speaking of the first ED, the visuals for it change 4 times, and each version looks great. Even when they’re not experimenting, some of the action scenes and sequences of Rimuru wandering around in slime form look stunning and fluid. The first OP is a wonderful example of this. Sadly, the visuals are about as inconsistent as everything else. For every moment of smooth or lively visuals, we have moments of typical static shots, and episodes where we don’t get much animation. Some of the background and foreground scrolling tends to look awkward as well, and the rampant CGI tends to be even worse. Still, the character designs are generally great, and the high points in the animation put nearly every other isekai or LN adaptation to shame. Studio 8bit is probably one of the better sources of isekai anime out there. Even more vibrant is the music. Early on, we’re treated to some fun chiptune pieces, along with some adventurous tracks. Somehow, the amount of more lighthearted and fun tracks, and even the amount of battle themes is completely overshadowed by the sheer volume of great emotional pieces. A track that perfectly exemplifies both sides of this is actually the first ED, "Another colony" by TRUE. The guitars and drums give this energetic vibe that’s both invigorating and a tad emotional, and the violins more than add to the more emotional aspect of the song. Along with the decent vocals, these elements turn this into one of the better EDs of 2018, and a great way to cap off each episode. I don’t care as much for the second ED despite its more sentimental tone. Takuma Terashima does the 2 OPs of this season, and they are both fantastic. The first, “Nameless Story”, is a striking tune, especially with that bombastic usage of the special guitar which gives a more rustic, perhaps 2000s vibe. The visuals accentuate that vibe, as both aspects of the OP meld to create both this sense of adventure and danger. The second OP, “Meguru Mono” is a far calmer, more emotional piece that shows just how far Rimuru and his civilization have come, and how wondrous things will remain in the future. As expected from an isekai, the writing is a bit of a mess. The show’s pacing is often strange, and it has a ton of pointless and bewildering time skips. Emotional moments often feel rushed or conjured out of thin air, and the show often forgets about its characters until they randomly appear later. Examples of the latter include the time when Gobta’s just left alone in a cell halfway into episode 5 and forgotten about, or when the goblins and wolves are told to wait outside at the beginning of episode 4 and are forgotten about until episode 6, where we see them and a whole new batch of goblins working. The show also tends to resort to time skips, glossing over the progression of the central village Rimuru builds, and making the town’s progression and some of Rimuru’s absences feel utterly ridiculous. Another problem is that the world-building is sometimes inconsistent and unexplained, like how Rimuru could only name like 50 or so goblins and one wolf before passing out in episode 3 and then 500 goblins in episode 6. The worst case of the latter is in episode 19 where the wolf Ranga suddenly has a strong partnership with Shion and pulls a flying ability out of nowhere, since the characters ask how and when he learned that and became that close with her, and we never get an answer. Granted, the world-building is never indigestible and rarely broken like it is in Mahouka or Smartphone. It’s just that these issues become especially distracting when the narratives are already rather unremarkable and badly paced. It’s even worse when most of the arc conclusions are drawn-out, anticlimactic, or cheesy, with the 4th arc’s finale being the worst example. That said, some of the storylines in this show are genuinely good. The best example of this is the 3-part storyline with Shizue at the end of arc 1, with its intense backstory and a sentimental payoff for Shizue and her ultimately tragic tale. If only more of this show’s arcs and mini-stories were as good as this or even the majority of the second arc, but inconsistency really is Slime’s middle name. A majority of the characters in this show are actual yes men, often with one defining character trait and only some level of chemistry to make them salvageable. Barring Rimuru (the little asshole), his internal sage assistant, and perhaps the utter dolt that is Gabiru, it seems like the best characters in this show are ones that appear for a short time, like Shizue, Veldora, or the trio of guild adventurers at the end of the first arc. They along with the characters I’ve named often have the most entertaining personalities and chemistry, and the most we get from them are a few gags at Gobta’s, Shion’s, and Rimuru’s expense. Almost none of them have any exceptional personalities or amazing chemistry to rival the GOATs in anime casts, nor do any of them necessarily wring any hype out of me aside from a character introduced in the penultimate episode. However, none of them are insufferable or horribly written. Still, this is probably Slime’s weakest and least entertaining aspect. The experience of watching this anime at its best is a lot like that of playing a Kirby game. It has an adorable, round, expressive protagonist who absorbs his enemies’ powers while exploring new lands, and a sense of whimsy crafted by the bouncy slime animation and wonderfully varied OST. The experience of watching this anime at its best is a lot like that of playing a Kirby game. It has an adorable, round, expressive protagonist who absorbs his enemies’ powers while exploring new lands, and a sense of whimsy crafted by the bouncy slime animation and wonderfully varied OST. It’s not necessarily well-written, visually stunning, or even consistently entertaining, but it sets a benchmark for isekai that frankly hasn’t been met in half a decade. All it needed to do in order to not suck was just be straightforward and willing to entertain. With that said, can we finally have a good isekai again, please? I don’t want another isekai ending with a recap episode, as amusing as this one was. (Yes, the recap is listed as its own anime now, but it was still advertised as the final episode by the show itself, and MAL did not list it as its own entry when this review was made. Fuck you, it's my review...you bullies.) Written and Edited by: CodeBlazeFate Proofread by: Peregrine
# [~~~**This review will contain Spoilers for the show!**~~~]()
A good isekai which sadly turns into a chore later on :v
[**_(SPOILER AHEAD)_ STORY:**]()
Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (Which I will be reffering to as "Slime") is a show which started off
strong. The characters seemed interesting, the way the world was building built around us was also
something quite impressive. I remember being incredibly impressed when I realised that the whole first
episode was basically just in a cave talking to a Tsundere Dragon. It felt like so much has happened.
_**To summarise the plot:** A lonely loser dies. Turns into a slime in another world. Gains powers.
Makes a village. Gains more powers. Helps everyone due to his OP powers._
Though sadly watching this show turned more into a chore. This is due to the fact that we can always
predict what happens at every encounter.
Everytime an enemy appears we **KNOW** that at first Rimuru's friends/allies **WILL** try to defeat
the monster themselves, fail, and then Rimuru will step in and either eat them or turn them into
allies. Every time.
Later on we see a diversion from this formula but its a bit too late. Rimuru tries to save the kids
that Shizue taught. This arc was more character building and led up to a set up for a Season 2. What
seems to be an Evil Spirit goes into one of the kids. Most likely Rimuru will have to deal with that
later on.

[**CHARACTERS:**]()
Slime has many interesting and cool characters.
A lot of them just appear to advance the plot and build up the world more while others serve as
punching bags for enemies.
Rimuru is the main, a 37 year old loser who died and appeared in this world as a slime. He gained many
powers throughout the series and now is the most OP character in the whole entirity of that Universe.
Rimuru tries his best to be as diplomatic as possible but when the need arises he does pull off some
OP moves and eats the enemy. He also has a "Great Sage" in his mind which helps him analyze situations
and materials.
As mentioned before there are also characters which just serve a purpose of being punching bags. Which
basically consists of every other character that is allied with Rimuru. As I mentioned before,
everyone tries to defeat an enemy but fails "forcing" Rimuru to step in and win. There are too many
characters to individualy talk about.

[**ART/ANIMATION:**]()
Slime's Animation is quite dandy, not bad but also nothing too good. The combat scenes felt smooth and
fluid which made the viewing experience a little bit more enjoyable which is always a positive! The
art style, too, is quite good. At time can be a bit too simplistic but can also deliver with great
detailed and colourful scenes.
As shown in the Gif below, this is the kind of quality we can see from a lot of the combat found in
this series. Well choreographed scenes with juicy details.

[**MUSIC:**]()
Not gonna lie...I forgot the OST for Slime.
So lets move on to OPs and EDs.
They don't sound bad, they sound quite decent. They deliver quite a large amount of Hype when watching
the series which is nice in my opinion.
The same idea applies to the EDs, I liked the OPs more since they delivered much more Hype to the
series but both were decent (as mentioned before).

[**OVERALL OPINION:**]()
Soooo, overall opinion time.
Slime is an Isekai which started off quite good with amazing character and world building but become
quite boring and repetetive after a while due to the predictable outcomes of every encounter.
The Truth About That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime ( No Spoilers ) As I sit back and read a lot of the reviews that this Anime has been given, I can't help but laugh. A lot of people are saying they didn’t like it and how it became too repetitive and too predictable. I strongly disagree, but it’s honestly just a difference in opinon and a different outlook. That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Is An Isekai, I feel like at this point we should all know what to expect from an Isekai. For the people that say It Is repetitive and predictable they are absolutely right, but it does it in a way that is both refreshing and laughable in a good way. Even though you know what’s going to happen, its still exciting to watch it play out because of how attached the characters become to you. CHARACTERS The Characters are so interesting and all have cool designs, it’ll have you rooting for them just as much as the Main Character. Especially as the story progresses and they inhance their powers or level up. Each Character has special abilities some more than others and they’re all strong which in time makes you realize just how OP the MC is. The Main Character who’s name is a spoiler within itself, Is a 37 yr old who well you know is Reincarnated As A Slime. He’s very likable and and adds to the humorous side of the show as he often says what we the audience are thinking. WHY WATCH When I first started watching Slime I had just finished watching Assassination Classroom. So I was sad from not having any of those Episodes left to watch cause that Anime was so funny and heartwarming. Slime truly filled that void with some of the same type of humor and a similar Protagonist. I knew from the first Episode that it was going to be one of my favorites and it truly became my favorite in everyone’s favorite Episode. The Epsiode that I think we all cried , smiled and laughed through. The story building they set up and the unique characters with great character designs will leave you in awe. HALFWAY-POINT DROPOFF There is definitely a shift after the Halfway point of the Season and that’s where most people lost interest, but the way I see it ends the repetitive nature of the show. The Main Character suddenly doesn’t seem so invincible anymore as we learn that there are Characters and forces much more powerful than he is. In Episodes past we’ll knew what was going to happen, after the halfway point all of that stops as the story starts building towards the next Season. SEASON 2 I’m so happy it’s getting a Season 2. It has so many cool and unique characters that I can’t wait to learn more about. I haven’t read the manga but towards the end of the Season you can tell the last few Episodes are setting up something big for S2. Rimuru has become my favorite Anime character All-Time which is astonishing considering whose on my list. If you haven’t watched Slime yet, I advise you to start ASAP. I promise you won’t regret it.
A unique take on an over-saturated genre, the show follows a wholesome MC that handles whatever situation with a smile, empathy and understanding. The rules of the world may not always make sense and it isn't very fast-paced but rome wasn't build in a year! And neither will the Jura Federation! The show has a fun ensemble of creative and somewhat generic side characters that each shine in their own little country-to-be. The show even goes the extra mile and attempts to add in mild political aspects, that while not generally seen as fun, add a whole new perspective to an isekai world. I've craved for the longest time a show that just tries to bring some logic into these isekai worlds and so this show, introducing us to all the various races, each with their own speciality and skills has turned the world into a charming version of another world. Our lovable slime does what he can, and I can't wait for the show to continue growing the city and following the challenges that await, and the creative way the show solves them. The main downside for me was the iffy fanservice at some points and the confusing overall plot which seems to move at a very unpredictable pace but it still is interesting and funny. __ART: 9/10__ Often times beautiful, sometimes basic. Generic character designs for humans but unique and interesting expressions for non-human characters. It's a shame the show is dead-set on changing everyone to look like humans. __PLOT: 7/10__ _- WORLD BUILDING 9/10 - DRIVING PLOT 6/10 - CHARACTER-DRIVEN PLOT 7/10_ The overall plot is there, the world building does exist and involves very unique issues that must be dealt with and most arcs are character-driven so the show lacks a strong central existing plot. That isn't necessarily bad but it can feel somewhat slow because of that. For some reason, the show has a weird narration dump every now and then which can feel almost like a spoiler for what's to come. __ENJOYMENT: 8/10 __ Without thinking too much, the show is just generally enjoyable. It's got an entirely new world, funny cast and it doesn't take itself seriously. There is no extreme melodrama and it doesn't attempt to fix any real-world issues or problems. I can understand why some might find it a bit preachy or maybe dislike the Slime's popularity but in the end, it's there for our entertainment and if you switch off your brain and try to enjoy the wholesome slime, all is good.
I get what Isekai should be about, it's about someone or something thing got teleported or reincarnated into a new universe or new dimension. But That time i got reincarnated as a slime takes it and makes it amazingly shitty anime with cult like structure in which a shitty protagonist tries to something and the rest of the character just follow, it's like the character doesn't have any personality or willpower they just sucks! And follow the MC Anyway let's talk about the comedy it's soo amazing not funny that i slept just by listening the stupid dialogues. Fantasy genres that suppose to give you the experience of creatures, gods, imaginary beings that are new and native of there place but That time i got reincarnated as a slime just picks up the most common creatures and the freaking "Demon Lord" concept it's just so overwhelmingly bad! I get it a slime demon lord is new...but the most powerful..its just that when you smack your head on rocks you get this type of ideas. Let's just look at the character 'Milim Nava" she is a cool bad ass with awesome power. And what happen to her....got enslaved by the freaking honey, i mean if she wanted to she could just destroy the forest and then compelled rimuru to give her the formula. She literally have the nickname "Destruction" and what I told it's a cult!!!!! Now it's time for the protagonist Rimuru Tenpest, his real name Mikami Satoru, was just a ordinary virgin office worker before he died protecting his friend's girlfriend. he was pretty smart, his dying wish was to erase his computer hard drive! (Most common type of MC in isekai anime no originality) Well it's good that the protagonist is very overpowered but that character development sucks soo much i can predict pretty much what is going to happen next. The story is pretty lame ohh sorry i meant the lamest! Those stupid comebacks, moves, realising some old friends memories and getting OP...#Lame "Log Horizonhttps://anilist.co/anime/17265/Log-Horizon/)" anime got the same concept as this one it's isekai, fantasy and it's way better than this. The character have personality and amazing development! Another recommendation, Konosubahttps://anilist.co/anime/21202/KONOSUBA-Gods-blessing-on-this-wonderful-world/ if you haven't already watched give it a try its amazing and refreshing! I guess no matter how much the protagonist is OP if the story isn't good everything falls apart just like this anime. If it would just be me writing my stupid review based on my own desire to see something awesome with the score of #87 and got disappointed coz of wasting my time on this, So I asked some people about this anime chatting groups what's there opinion on Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) Most of the told me that this anime was boring and the animation was not that good either except for the first episode, So if you really wanna watch something stupid and to pass time than and only than you should consider this!
ENG] (TL;DR at the end) There is a quote by Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) that reflects exactly who this little bluish Slime is, saying that: "A leader's greatest ability is to develop extraordinary skills in ordinary people" We are used to this old idea of Good versus Evil, the noble hero on one hand, against the evil villain on the other, and it ended up repeating itself in so many stories throughout our lives that this simplification affected, in a certain way, how we think about this topic. But when we matured and learned the reality of life, we realized that this issue is much more complex than we imagined, and that is what makes Rimuru such an interesting character Throughout the story, he could have the power just for him, but he always shares it with everyone and everything, he doesn't do things alone, because he prefers to share the glory with his friends, and always gives a fair chance to each one, regardless of race , sex or even past, to have a chance to shine, reflecting on all the characters of the Anime, each of them ended up becoming their best version, they evolved and become better people, actually monsters, all thanks to Rimuru All races, be the Goblins, Wolves, Dwarves, Ogres, Orcs, Lizardman and even Humans, they do not fear Rimuru because of his powers, but respect him for the person he is Rimuru isn't just a hero, or an evil villain, but something much more complex, he is a leader, a true leader, and it is by being a great leader, that he has become a great hero TL;DR I could recommend this Anime for countless reasons, for its different story, incredible and charismatic characters or even for its great humor, but if you're ready to see what a real leader is, you will see that there is a bluish Slime waiting for you Bellow there is a video link, entitled “How Rimuru is More Than Just a Hero”, which better analyzes the Anime and its premise as a whole, making this review even more accurate (Please turn on the English Sub for it). That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a serias about a guy who got reincarnated as a slime… I know, sounds innovative, but isn’t, really. What we got is a pretty casual isekai, one more similar to Overlord than Re:Zero, but worse than both of them. We won’t ever experience a tension present in many anime of this kind, because our main character is overpowered from the start, just after swallowing some glowing stones, green herbs and tsundere dragon(?). We won’t see any interestings political affairs or interracial conflicts too. Everything can be summarised to “and than Rimuru came, and everything went well” really. The pacing is lazy as heck too. Our lovely slime has something like “Sage”, which can literally explain every detail of the world to us at any time. I honestly don’t know which is worse - long scenes of two people talking, doing nothing else than explaining the world presented (SAO lol) or this… Story: We meet Mikami Satoru, a normal man who gets stabbed as he saves his friend and due to his last words becomes slime in the another world. At first this tale presents itself as a journey of a character, who have problems in his new body form, and struggles no only with the world, but also with himself. I was looking forward to see how he suits himself in that new form of his, how he mindfully overcomes his new weaknesses and gets a use of new abilities. Nor of that happend. All of his growth is about swallowing stuff. He don’t have to think, or try, he can just as Great Sage, and be provided with answers. He gets stronger extremely fast and find powerful allays as easly. Everyone in this world wants to be under his wings or atleast work with him. Maybe expect the “bad guys” who are bad because, well, someone have to. Story gets repetitive. We meet another groups who have some problems, Rimuru help them, they want to serve him because “ugh, hes so good” and so on. Characters: I wrote characters, but they are more of gimmicks presented as people. I know, this show is partly a comedy, and it’s pretty common in that genre, but really, you can describe most of the cast members with a single adjective. Exceptions were Shizue and adventurers, who had some more depth. Art: Nothing special, really. Although anime is about a slime, animation is quite static. Fights quickly get to “large scale”, so we often see just pillars of flames, thunders and weird balls of energy (or something). No emotional weight is presented through art, everything from color pallet to movement stays the same. Sometimes we see some goofines and out of shape animation which serves a comedic purpose. Music: Is indistinguishable. If there is something like “standart isekai anime ost” than it’s this one. I feel beited, as not only our hero’s form isn’t playing a big role in the story, but also he begins to stay more and more in his human state as show progresses. I’ve watched many worse isekai series, but thay’ve had one advantage - only 12/13 episodes. This show is just too long to be bearable. I bet it intrigued many with an unexpected title but sadly it turned out to be not worthy at all.
**Overview:** There are 23 eps in total with the 24th being a story from one of the characters past that appears to be background info for what season 2 is probably going to be about. The show itself is another death in real world and brought to another fantasy setting. In this instance the main character is reincarnated as a slime as the shows title suggests. Starts out with him realizing he is now a slime and post realization slowly builds up a town of followers due to the amount of power he possesses. The way the show goes about granting him strong power is that he himself is not OP but the hax he possesses in the form of unique skills does make him OP. There are still characters stronger which is nice to see, and he even points them out saying `X person is X amount stronger than I am`. Another point is that the show does not solely focus on the slime, often it is seen that the comrades and followers do most of the fighting with the slime coming in for the finishing act, sort of. They are able to balance the characters out decent which is a nice touch. First arc Is more about developing the town and connections with events happening as it progresses. Second is fulfilling the request of a person that he promised to complete the wish of. **Visuals/Music:** The visuals have a range from alright to pretty good. Nothing was stunning about them, but they did mix some interesting affects in here and there that were unique. Similarly, the ost throughout was nothing special. The ost was average and did its job good enough so no complaints from either side. The openings and endings however are for me the best parts of this show. The second opening I enjoy quite a bit due to the opening piano. Both openings and endings were nice to listen to. Only skipped them once maybe twice throughout which doesn’t happen often. **Final Thoughts:** Throughout the entire show it simply feels too light hearted. There is no sense of tension due to the main characters hax abilities. If he needs, nearly any foe can be defeated due to them. Even in the fight that he states he is outpowered… it ends in a way that while gives a slight chuckle at best makes you come to the realization there wont ever be any real challenges ahead of the mc. Without a challenge or sense of tension it feels meh and predictable, there wasn’t a point that had me wanting to see more or having a sense of `this is unexpected.`. Main problem I have is the forced feelings they try to get the viewers to feel. There are several characters they try to get a emotional attachment with but there is never a reason to feel attached to. It felt similar to Destiny Cayde 6, where you only care for these characters since they are cool and sometimes witty or funny. If they died, it’s a `oh no, that’s sad` moment rather than an emotional one. There is blood and death shown but it’s shown in a way that conveys no sense of meaning. Everything just feels severely toned down, but I guess that’s the audience they were going for which is fine. It is a decent show, id recommend it to people if they need to pass the time, not wanting an engaging or complex story, or just want something that is lighthearted with a dash of `oh look there’s some blood`. It does what it set out to do so can’t really take it that serious as it is a reincarnation as a slime after all lol.
