After agonizing yesterday the entire evening over when it will eventually air on Crunchyroll until I gave up and went to bed, it’s here, and I could watch it. As I already mentioned in [my part 2 review](https://anilist.co/review/16068), I’m a manga reader and I adore manga, so this was very exciting (Don’t worry, there will be no spoilers going beyond how far the anime is right now, but __this review will contain spoilers for this episode__). I neither had the commitment nor the time to stalk official YT playlists or analyze which tweets get retweeted from that animator or the other, but I was looking forward to this very much. So. How did it turn out? Was it amazing? Or disappointing overall? img(https://imgur.com/VBTKQVI.png) For me, it fell pretty much into the realm of expectations. It wasn’t cinema, but it wasn’t bad either. It was good, although I do admit in a bit of a disappointing way of “good”, as I hoped a little that it would exceed my expectations, that Hayashi may show me something which I couldn’t dream of even if I tried. That is not to say that they didn’t try to make this adaptation their own - There are plenty of additions, particularly when it comes to 131 and the rumbling, which I don’t recall reading in the manga and I liked all of them. img(https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/940664200433377322/1081481212868177930/SPOILER_mpv-shot0002.jpg) Hanji’s death was also my favorite scene, it hit hard to be reminded of the weight she carries, her recalling her comrades, and her final scene with Levi and her taking on the colossal titans. It was the only scene that made me tear up. The soundtrack for her sakuga sequence was nice as well, we got some very nicely animated sequences for the reunion of the alliance and the founder too, they delivered pretty well in this regard. img(https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/940664200433377322/1081481155439755284/SPOILER_mpv-shot0004.jpg) Regarding production quality in general I have little to no complaints. It never hits the point where I say it looks phenomenal, but it looks consistently good even with its detailed character designs. The 3D-2D mixing continues to be solid, and they utilize 3D in some cuts pretty well, although I think they could’ve pushed it even further. And, this founder still looks goofy. It needs to be said. img(https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/940664200433377322/1081480681789603890/SPOILER_mpv-shot0003.jpg) I also enjoyed just seeing all these characters again. The sequences with Armin and Annie are lovely, although it is bizarre in contrast to the rumbling happening in real-time of course, as Annie points rightfully out. I also like how Mikasa immediately realized what was going on, her expression is so cute. I know, this is the grand finale, but I enjoy these little things. img(https://imgur.com/F2nzBTX.png) If there is anything that I have to point out as a flaw in this special, it probably is that it’s only that “good”. As I said before, I hoped it to be even more, particularly 131 which was just exhilarating to read in the manga. Even with all the additions I appreciate, 131 in the anime didn’t hit me to the bone as I hoped. The most important still here is also framed badly, but moreover, the overall package just wasn’t *that* good. It wasn’t able to replicate the feeling I had when I first read the manga. img(https://imgur.com/Q3ZPPpS.png) To sum up, Attack on Titan is still going strong and Hayashi and his team delivered. I have my complaints, but this is a solid adaptation regardless, and I’m happy to have it. Very much looking forward to the 2nd Part, which will wrap up this series finally! Can’t wait to see certain moments animated. I also like the theme song from SIM, not as much as the rumbling, but I think I will listen to it more. It’s a nice callback to the first ending of Attack on Titan with its visuals too. img(https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/940664200433377322/1081481213224685588/SPOILER_mpv-shot0007.jpg)

___This Review Contains Spoiler for Attack On Titan The Final Season Part 3 Cour 1___ _Note: This is the first review I have ever made so there might be some mistakes, and this is mainly more like my opinion than a review_ Attack On Titan is back, and safe to say, it is amazing. After what feels like an eternity of waiting, it's finally here. This is gonna be once again, another controversial adaptation due to the anime getting closer and closer to the final chapters of the manga, which is hated by a portion of the fanbase. Like adding fuel to fire, the decision of spilting part 3 of season 4 into 2 smaller parts pretty much have everyone (including myself) wondering what the studio is even thinking, and tbh I even think that this is just a cheap method of marketing coming from MAPPA. Seriously, "The Final Season Part 3 Part 2"? That just seems ridiculous. However, all of that aside, it's obvious that __Quality__ is always what we care about the most, and honestly, I think mappa truly nailed it this time. Why, you may ask? Well.. img(https://imgur.com/DBBsYkb.jpg) img(https://imgur.com/KLmWYDr.jpg) img(https://imgur.com/huAWIGP.jpg) img(https://imgur.com/ScXxny6.jpg) img(https://imgur.com/G7nNGGs.jpg) img(https://imgur.com/ccBvGCa.jpg) As someone who has read the last 9 chapters of the manga, there are a surprising amount of anime-original content in this episode, specifically the Rumbling sequence, seeing everyone desperately running for their lives, crying, screaming and getting trampled on are truly terrifying, along with the incredibly eerie music makes this whole sequence send chills down my spine, it really shows how devastating the rumbling is, and how Eren is committing literal genocide. The pacing of the episode also feels a lot slower and more drawn out than the manga too due to there being lots of new scenes, which will be beneficial for the plot overall too. The animation also is very consistent and I didn't spot any badly drawn scene, the music that plays during Hange's final fight to buy time for the scouts is pretty emotional. The ODM sequence of Hange killing the colossal titans is probably the smoothest ODM scene that MAPPA has done so far, really gives off WIT's vibes back in season 1 to 3. They beautifully animated her catching on fire and fell down to the ground, sacrificing her life for the Scouts to move on. The Paths scene was also great, MAPPA truly took their time to drew even the smallest details like the branches of the Paths trees, making it look a lot like the manga. The whole episode overall is beautifully taken care of in basically every frame, and I truly think people need to chill with the hate towards MAPPA (not talking about them overworking their staffs), sure this whole spilting up the final season is ridiculous and such but if this is the end product, then honestly I don't really mind. Really hope the staffs working on aot are getting enough rest, because it's surprising how good this episode came out despite their tight as fuck work schedule. __This is undeniably the best season of aot so far__.
# ~~~__More of a shitpost than a review - be warned -__~~~
my first review...expect exactly what the title says
if you want the short version: peak cinema
if you want the way too long version where i hope my english hasn’t gotten too bad, here you go:
~~~__Eren & The Rumbling__~~~
They set the tone perfectly for the rumbling entrance. The music and tension until the climax which
was ramzi’s halil’s and everyone else’s brutal death was probably the most horrible thing i’ve ever
seen in anime. Eren’s whole inner monologue was exactly what i wanted and it felt so real i cried like
a bitch. Once again some peak writing. The scene switch between the rumbling and eren apologizing to
ramzi made me feel like i was apologizing to him…yes i cried even more veeery manly chad tears. Eren’s
disappointment about the outside world being the source of all their oppression and just an extension
to the world inside the walls he hated all his life for was so fucking sad to see. His and armin’s
childish dream stuck with him until today where we see him as an innocent, unknowing and traumatized
child again and just looks above the clouds with no death and destruction in his sight and thinks that
this is his freedom he always dreamed about. That shit must’ve been the most fucked in the head scene
i’ve ever seen. I’m actually still in disbelief that this is real and THAT WAS JUST THE FIRST 11
MINUTES HOLY FUCK.
~~~__RomCom + Black&White__~~~
Well..what follows that is a cute little romcom scene between best boi and best girl. Everyone’s
making clear that no one here is a good person anymore but that doesn’t mean they won’t stop bad
things from happening. They still have their own imagination of right and wrong and keep moving
forward.
(i just had to say this once i’m sorry)
~~~__Eren’s or Zeke’s plan__~~~
Zeke’s plan might’ve been a “better” choice in comparison but you can’t just put millions of lives of
the majority over millions of the minority. There will never be a situation where it’s okay to let
millions die whether it’s all at once with the rumbling or slowly over time until no one is left. I'll
never take a side because i can understand both sides so well that i would’ve done the same depending
on if i would be eren or everyone else and try to stop him in that situation. There is no “simple”
solution or peace opportunity.
~~~__Shittalking__~~~
I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT THIS FUCKING GUY SURVIVED AND STUCK TO THE SHIP ALL THIS TIME. As a fellow floch
hater i must admit that i at least respect his determination. Now onto the real question…can titans
have fun? In my opinion yeah..of course. Look at how much fun those little guys have they go like
WEEE.
webm(https://i.imgur.com/3gVaGts.mp4)
~~~__Four-eyes__~~~
Okay back to the real stuff... Most iconic scene of the episode…an absolute classic, antique, ancient,
prehistoric moment ughh i love both of them please marry me. Hanji’s last fight was probably the best
animation i’ve seen from mappa in aot. After she passed her duty of being commander onto armin, she
returned back to her old season 1 self AND YES I CRIED EVEN MORE HERE AND IN MY REWATCH AND EVEN IN
EVERY REACTION I WATCH. They definitely did my little psychopath justice..RIP hanji. And if that
wasn’t enough pain already they show me my mans erwin and mike and sasha and hannes and pixis and
keith and moblit and nanaba and petra my beloved AND EVEN BEST GIRL CHARETTE WHAT THE FUCK WHY IS THE
HORSE HERE HAHAHAAA.
~~~__Writing__~~~
I don’t even think i have words to describe that scene...i was absolutely flabbergasted, in utter
disbelief ain’t no way dude. Love how they all start to regret their actions as soon as things go bad
but this time it’s like, really really bad. I love it when even side charactes and people we’ve never
seen before are written so realistic that it feels almost too real. We always think about regret when
it’s already too late and things can’t be undone...classic human moment.
~~~__Even more shittalking AND Jojo Part 3 Spoilers...kinda__~~~
YO WHERE WAS ONYANKOPON IN JOJO PART 3??? WITH HIM THEY WOULD’VE NEVER CRASHED A MILLION TIMES. This
is the only ugly cgi shot in the whole episode but it looked so funny i had to mention this.
Cliffhanger-kun got us really good this time…well at least we finally got splinter wolf with vocals i
hope they give us into the night with vocals in the last episode because if not i might have to
interfere…
~~~__Finalmente__~~~
ahhhh where do i start..okay let‘s make it quick.
One of the best episodes in attack on titan and in general i have ever seen.
Most consistent animated episode from mappa.
Yamamoto and Sawano actually got in trouble with the police for setting the studio on fire.
Sim also with another banger that i like even more than the rumbling. Playing this on loop since the
episode ended.
Absolute crazy beginning with the horrors of the rumbling. Some of the best scenes in the whole anime,
nothing in anime I’ve seen was more terrifying than this. The character writing has always been on a
very high level but i’ve never seen something more peak than in part 2 and and this. I still hate this
cruel world but love my bois and girls even more..well everyone but floch.
So many great callbacks and smol sweet dialogues i don’t wanna count them but my favourite was
definitely the one between levi and my beloved four-eyes AND i guess eren and ramzi.
Oh yeah…you still want my overall opinion right? Weeeeell…i can’t say i didn’t enjoy every second of
it and it’s not like i will rewatch this 10 times like i did with the rest of the anime buuut…
All in all, Attack on Titan never disappoints and gets from me a well deserved very good, astonishing,
incredible, excellent, magnificent, marvellous, exceptional, wonderful, sensational, outstanding 1/10!
As a massive fan of the MAPPA era of Attack on Titan - to the point of preferring it over the WIT era - I was incredibly excited to see how their conclusion to this monumental saga would turn out. And honestly, I think this is a pretty good set up for that climax - however, I don't think it's perfect, and it's definitely the weakest AoT release since the first season, which is quite disappointing. First, I'd like to go over what worked with the episode: I thought the entire opening was incredibly well done, and I especially loved how Eren's conversation with Ramzi was intercut with the Rumbling. I think the entire scene encapsulates Eren's current state of mind and his tragically hypocritical worldview perfectly, and, after all this time, the much anticipated "This is freedom" shot felt like a gut-punch to the gut when I finally had the context for it - though I will say, it was visually somewhat disappointing; but I'll let it slide, as I do for most of MAPPA's Attack on Titan, because the storytelling present is still stellar. I also thought Hange's death was done very well, and the image of her blazing in the skies while she saves her comrades really impressed me. I also really liked her last interaction with Levi - though I unfortunately can't say the same about her interaction with Erwin, which I felt was done very clumsily. I also thought the choice of music for the scene was uncharacteristically poor for the series, though I didn't feel the same way about the rest of the episode as some others apparently did. I also liked the ending, it has me incredibly excited for the next episode - I'm glad that all of the action has been kept for the finale, with this episode serving as the last preparations for the final confrontation. However, unfortunately, I think this episode also suffers from this - though not in the way I've framed it. I actually love episodes of Attack on Titan focused moreso on conversations than action, and it's why Season 4 is my favourite season - a lot of it is just characters talking to each other. The reason I like these episodes so much, though, relates to the content of those conversations - and unfortunately, that's also why this episode disappointed me. I found that, apart from the opening and (most) of Hange's final stand, the writing was incredibly disappointing - the standout being the Eldians' conversation with Eren in the Paths, which features perhaps the single worst line in the entire series: "You don't have to keep committing genocide for our sake". I think this actually highlights a problem I've had with this entire season - the Rumbling is treated incredibly inconsistently. The opening to this episode contrasts to the conversation with Eren perfectly - it shows us exactly how devastating the march of the Titans is, conveys Eren's anguish over it, and highlights precisely how he has gone wrong in his pursuit of 'freedom'. The conversation in the Paths, on the other hand, does an incredibly poor job at all of these things - the Rumbling is treated as if it's an elementary school misdemeanor and attempts to show the struggles Eren is facing and the flaws in his character through dialogue so incredibly on-the-nose that it's too embarassing to even be considered as a genuine attempt at writing. This discrepancy with the treatment of Eren's genocide is also present throughout the rest of the season, as I mentioned, and I think it ultimately stems from the fact that the writing is treating Eren too preciously - I understand that he is the central character of the story and was it's protagonist for so long, but he is no longer in a position to be treated so favourably. He has been positioned as the final antagonist and there is no longer any going back on the atrocities he has committed - and while I am fully in support of exploring how this extreme shift is affecting him mentally, I do not think that the constant wave of sympathy he gets from other characters is warranted. Should he get such treatment from his fascist personality cult? Absolutely. Should he get it from our current protagonists? Absolutely not. I no longer think any of the main cast would be expressing the level of support for him that they have been if this was any other character that they were similarly attached to. I actually think Mikasa and Annie's earlier conversation regarding the scarf Eren gave her does a good job at this - yes, she is still attached to him, but their connection can no longer get in the way of what must be done. Unfortunately, though, I don't feel that this sentiment is carried equally throughout the rest of the episode or series - which is a shame, as I really don't think it was necessarily a difficult attitude to portray, particulary in their conversation in the Paths. Ultimately, though, I think this episode is still a very solid way to set up what should hopefully be an amazing finale - even though it was somewhat underwhelming.
~~~__Bem-vindo a minha opinião de Attack on Titan. Também tem o resumo da temporada abaixo.__~~~ ~~~___⚠️ Observação: cuidado com SPOILERS.___~~~ ~~~_Minha opinião sobre o Special 1_~~~ - Bom, vai ser um pouco difícil escrever 2300 caracteres de um especial tão pequeno, porém tão significativo para a obra. Pois tivemos a perda de uma personagem tão incrível e memorável, é infinitamente triste para todos nós. Hange Zoe estava presente desde o começo da obra, e vermos o fim dessa personagem tão legal, é doloroso. Mas não temos como mudar a história e temos que lidar com isso. Apenas gratidão pelo Isayama por ter nos mostrado uma personagem tão concisa do início ao fim, e com uma ideologia linda de se ver. Ela foi a primeira a sempre discordar desse grande genocídio que o Eren quis provocar em toda a humanidade. A mais paranóica a descobrir mais sobre os Titãs. Bom, diferente do Erwin, que não conseguiu realizar seu sonho, Hange, eu diria que você conseguiu. Você conseguiu ser uma excelente comandante e guiar o melhor possível todos para o rumo da vitória. Você conseguiu continuar o legado de Erwin Smith e de todos os outros antecessores. Não é preciso essa insegurança e baixa auto-estima. A todo momento, Hange duvidava de seus próprios metódos e de si mesma. Ver as suas últimas palavras com o Levi foi tocante. No final, ela só queria uma morte legal como todos os outros tiveram. Nós também percebemos nesse Especial em que a chance da negociação, a chance de não derramar mais sangue, não existe mais para Eren Yeager. Ele já está convicto de sua decisão e irá aniquilar toda a humanidade. A única coisa que resta para os amigos de Eren é matá-lo. É a unica forma. Por mais doloroso que seja é a unica solução. Nós vimos por milhares de episódios, o carinho que todos tem entre si. Nunca esperávamos que eles lutariam até a morte por causas tão diferentes. Mas também não esperariam que o Eren, que antes só queria derrotar os Titãs para o bem da humanidade, se viraria contra ela. Até mesmo a motivação de Eren é tosca, dizendo que está fazendo tudo isso para o bem de seus amigos. Não se faz o bem, fazendo o mal para outras pessoas. No caso de Eren, matando pessoas que não tem nada a ver com toda essa guerra. Não preciso esconder muito pois está óbvio, minha personagem preferida desse especial/filme é sem dúvidas Hange Zoe. Uma personagem digna e memorável. E protagonista da melhor cena de todo o especial, e também da melhor luta. Não é como se tivesse tido tantas lutas legais também, mas tanto faz. Vou ser sincero o quanto achei fofo o romance entre o Armin e a Annie também. Acho que combinou muito, tendo uma quimíca entre os dois e foi um toque especial de elegância para o filme. ___ _Resumo (Créditos a Crunchyroll)_ __Eren iniciou o rugido da Terra e parte para pisotear o mundo com seu exército de Titãs Colossais.__ Armin e companhia precisam achar uma forma de fazer uma aeronave funcionar a tempo de impedir um genocídio ainda maior.
