The homeroom class gets sucked through a wormhole into - you guessed it! - another world where they
encounter a desolate environment dominated by a rampaging magical automaton. There they meet a
girl-type golem with mannerisms similar to Megumin, a woman dressed in the same military uniform as
Tanya, and a man with a cane who seems to know Subaru, and hijinks ensue.

Isekai Quartet is back again with a movie installment while still retaining it's chibi artsyle and how it is? Well it's alright I guess. The first two seasons are more enjoyable but I guess I wouldn't say this is a complete waste of my time. Let's be honest we're all watching Isekai Quartet just to see the cool crossover aspect and character interactions between the different isekai series and this movie continues to deliver just that with pairngs you rarely see before like Kazuma & Ainz, Subaru & Demiurge, Naofumi and Tanya's henchman and more and their interactions are still relatively charming. The jokes are pretty much what you expect from the series with it mostly coming from the character's usual schtick and references to their original series though I do admit Kazuma stealing panty joke does get pretty old and predictable but it does subverts the expectation at the end with him doing a really nice thing for the new characters with his steal ability which I can appreciate. Also for some reason Subaru and Beatrice relationship seems like it carries over post season 2 which is weird, do the Re Zero characters jump out of the Isekai Quartet world and back to their original world and then after S2 jump back to the Isekai Quartet world? I don't really know how that works tbh. And if it does happen post S2 then shouldn't Rem still be asleep? Oh well I guess it doesn't for a non canon series like this. Speking of the new characters though, I like how each of them represents each of the Isekai series (excluding Overlord and Shield Hero) and they have pretty understandable motivations for what they're doing as well. Though I do wish they build up Pantagruel and Vera's friendship more before the climax or at least show more screen time of their friendship because I don't really feel a bond between them at all which is why the emotional moments during the last third of the movie felt kinda forced. But the characters themselves are still enjoyable to watch and their interaction with the other Isekai characters are pretty nice. The plot itself surrounding the characters isn't very interesting though, I just felt like the serious tone is odd and out of place for a wacky crossover chibi series like and I absolutely cannot take it seriously. The animation still keeps that chibi artstyle from the orginal show again like I said but there is at least more movements shown in the movie so that's something I suppose. I don't really know if that counts as a compliment but hey at least the climax is neat. Overall it's an ok movie that's not going to wow anyone over but if you enoyed the first two seasons chances are you might find some enjoyment from this movie as well. Though this series really does not need a grand epic story around it as watching the characters from different Isekai series just having fun banter with each other is entertaining enough already. Oh yeah also don't forgot to watch the after credits scene which added two new characters to a possible third season of the show.
__This is a review full of sarcasm because it is Isekai Quartet. __ I learned through the years that Anime Fans and Sarcasm do not go well together, I guess this is more of a northern European/British way of being funny. I mean the sarcasm. And fans take way too seriously what are essentially cartoons and in this case, a totally over-the-top entertaining cartoon. I rewatched Isekai Quartet: The Movie. Bizarre, as I haven't watched most of the series mentioned. Well, partially. These series are so famous that even without having watched an episode, not a single one of Re:Zero I know that the dude cannot die, that virgins are fighting over who is better, Rem or Emilia. And yes, I called them virgins because whoever has had sex in life knows that the pink sister is the best—because the colder they are, the more beasts they become in bed. I know that the Shield Hero is a loser, and, again, he has this weird pet harem. Tanya is Tanya, I watched part of the series and read the first book, but after 50 pages, I was ready to start my Normandy Attack. Konosuba is Konosuba, basically the manual of Otaku 101 with all that is both good and bad in anime 2024. Overlord is the only reason I watched the movie, as huge a simp as I can be, which is weird because I don't even know why I like the series so much. Maybe because they are evil? But I mean, not the kind of messed-up evil à la Light Yagami; I mean real evil, the Stalin kind. Stalin surely wasn't laughing with malefic intentions, nor was Hitler who didn't look like someone petting a cat and laughing while killing—he looked puffy. He looked like Mare Bello Fiore, a trap with his lovely moustaches. So yeah, the Overlord guys are "bad," not like the One Piece ones. No one is bad in that show, but people talk about it like it's the best piece of fiction ever written. I am sure "The Brothers Karamazov" would disagree, but let's not digress. Ah, the movie. The movie is set in the world of Isekai Quartet, so people are Isekai'd get Isekai'd to a school, and then get Isekai'd again to a world where there's a weird guy called Alec, who has a harem made up of a chuuni-android and someone from Tanya's world. For the rest, it's the usual Isekai Quartet. Kazuma steals panties (MVP award), the Shield guy is boring as hell, Subaru fumbles with his obsession for Emilia, and Albedo fingers herself all the time with the body pillow of Ains. For the rest, the usual goofy characters are completely dumb. That is the purpose, nothing, not even a single line in this movie has to be taken seriously, if you want some serious thing and well done go to watch "The Great Passage", that is a serious thing well done. It was a good movie and I had fun with it.
