Ashiya has spent the first seven days of high school stuck in the infirmary because of a youkai
attaching itself to him. He ends up asking the owner of a small tea room called the "Mononokean" for
help. This is a tale involving the very morose owner of Mononokean guiding the youkai that happened to
wander into this world go to the next world.

This show is a hit and miss for a lot of people, it depends what you looking for in an anime. If you want cute dudes looking out for each-other, comedy, yokai stories, a sprinkle of story and eye-candy than congratulations, you have stumbled upon a show that can meet all or most of those needs. Story: Let's start with the weakest point. You don't watch Fukimono really for some amazing story, it has a little bit of it to spice things up however how I would see it as Fukimono S1 presents questions rather than answers to the core story questions, if you want answers than you will have to invest time till Tsuzuki. Some stories are either deep for example a yokai that's struggling to move forward or maybe there's a yokai that's afraid to move on to the underworld, this is mostly the case since yokai usually have regrets or want to do something before leaving. Sound/Art: This is a hit or miss. It has a bright and bubbly art style but it's not everyone's cup of tea so i'd recommend checking out the PV to see if the art style is something you can deal with. Sound I have no issues with, OP and EDs are all nice and pleasant to listen to and the OST's suit the themes. Character: This is a strong point for Fukimono; our main characters Hanae and Haruitsuki both have incompatible personalities like oil and water but the miracle is because of differences they get a long very well. Hanae is the loud cheerful and optimistic type whereas Haruitsuki is stern but with a heart of gold. Yahiko is the typical child and Zenko is there to keep Yahiko in place... most the time. Yokai's all different personalities with their own stories for example there's a old man like yokai who sounds aggressive but really cares about his partner. There's always a new mix of characters each episode. Enjoyment: Fukimono in general was a pleasant experience that would melt any ice left in your heart or fatigue, it was a good stress reliever anime. If you here for what i mentioned at the beginning than the comedy will most likely hit your chuckle spots. The yokai stories will either make you cry or they make you smile. Not only the comedy but also even the little story you get from this anime was also a experience that keeps you wanting to watch more
