Sometimes it's hard to judge against nostalgia, but after rewatching original version to compare with this 2018 remaster one, I think I can be more objective about my review, so I hope you find it helpful!! Sometimes they change a lot of things of the plot when they remaster something, well this is not at all the case for Captain Tsubasa 2018, where the plot and scenes are almost the same constantly. Though the scenes are the same, they definitely did make the pacing a lot faster overall. ~!For example (Care spoilers): In this remaster, Nankatsu vs Musashi starts on chapter 20 and ends on chapter on the first half of 22. In the original version, it starts much later, on the second half of chapter 29, and ends on the first half of 36. As you can see remastered is a lot more fast paced than original.!~ The graphics are of course much better since it is 2018, voives are much more profesional and of a lot more quality, same with ost, the audio quality is a lot better since, again, this is 2018. In my opinion tho, even if audio IS btter, the sopundtrack is lot more lighthearted compared to the nice dramatic ost and sounds effects of the original verison; tense/dramatic moments are a lot more enjojable/feel more like that on the original because of the soundtrack. With remastered you give up the joy of those tense/dramatic moments, qich IMO is really huge, but u get the 2018 perks like nice graphics and voice/audio quality in general, and a faster pacing (we all know the memes about original matches being played on mountains and the players taking 3 episodes to reach the rival's goal). The graphic effects for special moves/shoots etc are also nice. In my opinion, Captain Tsubasa 2018 is too lighthearted and that makes me not enjoy it as much as the original Captain Tsubasa. But still, Captain Tsubasa 2018 is a really big quality improvement, if u can't stand watching the very old and outdated version, this remaster is still good and doesn't change the plot at all, you only lose the tense/dramatic feeling original gives. It not like those scenes doesn't happen, they just are very lighthearted. I'll still enjoy Captain Tsubasa 2018 and will probably watch it till the end, even if I don't enjoy it as much, it is still really good. I give it a score of.... 7 out of 10 I think. Nothing amazing, but enjoyable.
