Warning this Review May Contain Spoilers- *Sigh* This series doesn't deserve the amount of hate it gets for being a superhero anime, I just want to say that yeah this is another superhero anime but it is still good, please don't get put off because of the theme as it is really good. And I've also had enough of people saying it's a rip-off of this series or that series, I enjoyed it and I think it is worth it. So this is about a world where everyone has superpowers (known as quirks) but our main character is part of the small percentage that doesn't but still wants to become a hero. He's constantly bullied about it but even so he still powers through everyday in his own way, when he meets his idol and he is given the chance to change is fate (but I won't spoil too much as that is the whole point of the anime). STORY The story was good, it had a nice build up and good pacing. I was told that they were going quite slowly (I mean like 1 chapter per episode) but I think for this type of anime it developed well. Another thing about the story is that it is interesting and intriguing, the idea of superpowers is just something people dream about but here it is put into a story which is well done. ANIMATION The animarion was good, but obviously it wasn't perfect there were a few scenes where you couldn't see the face of thhe person speaking at a certain distance or the faces were slightly off, and angles could be seen as weirdly portrayed but all these things were more towards the minor side and honestly not too noticeable. SOUND Next is the sound, the opening was great and really catchy and the ending was perfect and I don't think I'll be able to pick one of them as my overall favourtie. The voice acting was also done to a high standard and I haven't got much to complain about here...yep that's it. CHARACTERS The characters were all unique and fun but I wish there was more development of the characters (yeah I know there will be a second series but still), this was probably were this show was lacking. Like they got everything else out the way, plot, character introduction and so on but pretty much zero character development for those other than Midoriya (who had a bit of development). Anyway boom, review for the anime lottery club all done and hope you enjoy it xx -SwiftArrowYui- Please Note: Originally this Review was from anime-planet from my other account- AngelBeatsYui

This anime gives me a feeling similar to when I watched One Punch Man, and may have been the solution to the itch for those types of shows that I had been craving for some time now. This show is definitely a shounen show, with the hype and all. I feel as though it serves remarkably as a show surrounding heroes, establishing the society a little more realistically than in One Punch Man which is a nice touch. The underdog story that the main character goes through is also pretty good, although the twist of having his powers come from the top super hero making him his successor was a pleasant surprise since I expected him to have a secret dormant Quirk or something rather. The progression was quite nice, although some parts feel a bit rushed to me, which is inevitable given the length of the first season. And on that note, this series has another season that is out right now so I think talking about the pacing is probably inappropriate. Anyways, the characterization is probably the biggest issue I had with this first season of Boku no Hero Academia wherein because of the sheer size of the cast, there was no breathing room in terms of development and some characters just turned out being a gag so that was a bit hurtful for the show. Although, as said before, this is only the first season, with most likely more characterization to come. The relationship between the main character and his rival is a good motivator for some development of characters, although the series may have taken up most of the first season establishing that which hurts the previous two aspects that I mentioned but strengthens the motivations and goal of the main character. I also liked the striking art style and impact of the battle scenes, really making me pumped for all of the hype that it built up. Although, the villains may have been a bit edgy at times which was eh, I liked the designs of all characters and I felt as though because of the short length of the first season the animators had little breathing room in terms of how much they could show with all of those interesting character designs. Despite that complaint about the villains being kind of edgy, it is only the start after all and considering the fact that Shiguraki is directly perpendicular to Deku. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I want to say I don't like super heroes at all. Never saw any marvel movie, never followed Spiderman or Batman, etc. So it is really really impressive how much I like Boku no Hero. It has to be Japan. Those crazy-genious japanese people can make anything to be the most epic shit ever, so with super heroes they just have no limits. Welcome to the most epic anime ever done, where everything (Art style, animation, characters, soundtrack....) is made to be EPIC. Boku no Hero tell us the story about Midoriya Izuku and how he will become the greatest hero ever. This anime's world is used to super heroes and villains cause around 80% of the population have some especial power wich they call Quirks. Midoriya Izuku really admires heroes and has a really strong sense of justice, his dream is to become the greatest hero ever like All Might, the number 1 hero on the world who posses the quirk called "One for All". Sadly, Midoriya Izuku does NOT have a quirk, so his dreams cannot be acomplished... or so he though. ~!One day he gets rescued from a villain by the greatest hero All Might and after that Midoriya discover how All Might powers are getting worse and worse cause of a big injury... Next day, the same villain attack Midoriya's friend Katsugi Bakugo. The situation gets complicated and no hero can help o that moment cause they are busy dealing with other villains too, and All Might powers are off temporarily cause of the injury, so he can't help and gets realy frustrated because of that. But Midoriya Izuku, who was witnessing the situation, couldn't resist any longer and went to rescue his friend alone, without quirk or a plan. When Bakugo ask him what is he doing he could only say his legs moved on their own, that he looked like he was asking for help. That heroic action was heard by All Might and motivatred him so much that a burst of his powers came back and so he could save the situation. After all that, All Might, impressed by the strong sense of justice of Midoriya Izuku, tells to this one how his heroic action, how someone without a quirk just couldn't help to go help and try his best encouraged him to get his power back for a bit. He told him that most of the top heroes had one thing in common: Their bodies moved before they had a chance to think. So last he told Midoriya Izuku one last thing: "You can become a hero".!~ The story is full of epic moments, the ost and awesome art style and animation help a lot to get that epicism. The pacing is a bit slow cause it is telling us the start of Midoriya Izuku development to become a real hero and cause there is a lot of different characters with different personalities and quirks, so I think it is a necessary thing to get good character development. We will see season by season how Midoriya Izuku and the others grow up and get stronger till they become the new top heroes, so things can only get better and better. To the day I write this, they are airing 3rd season and things are just more and more epic, and I can definitely say they are doing and awesome job, so go watch it and don't miss this extremely epic adventure! Boku no Hero is ALL ABOUT EPICISM.

# [~~~**This review will contain Spoilers for the show!**~~~]()
A great start to an alright series, when I watched this I loved. Such interesting characters and take on superpowers. [**_(SPOILER AHEAD)_ STORY:**]() The story focuses on Izuku Midoriya, a boy who aspired to be just like All Might (The most popular and most the #1 Hero and a Symbol of Peace). But he soon learned that he was quirkless, after finding out about this our poor Midoriya Shounen was crushed, pure in shambles. But he run into All Might. After a bit of a chit-chat All Might sees the potential in him and decides to train our boy. Midoriya goes through **very** intense training and at the end of it we find out that.. All Might's quirk can be shared, his quirk was passed down from generation to generation, always seeking the right vessel to transfer the powers to. All Might gave to Midoriya his hair, cause it has his DNA and told him to "Eat this". Midoriya did so and got his sweet new quirk and the strong will to break all of his bones. Honestly the way they handled the quirks system and the natural integrations of superheros into society felt really cool to me and thats what made me love this series, it wasn't your "oh heroes hide in shadows and pretends to be no-one." thing, heroes walked along civilians. Quite cool. ~~~img420(https://i.imgur.com/fSueMBi.gif)~~~
[**CHARACTERS:**]() The main cast consists of very memorable characters: **Izuku Midoriya** - The main character of the series, I already explained his backstory in the previous category. He is very excited to be the shining hope. He really wants to become the very best of best in the heroes department and now that he actually has a quirk he is finally able to fufill his dream. **Katsuki Bakugou** - Bakugou is the childhood freind of Midoriya. He always made fun of young Midoriya due to the fact that he did not possess a cool quirk such a he did, he is really full of himself. He is quite competetive which is cool to see in a character but his drive to become the very best is more of an obsession rather than the strive to be a better version of yourself. He is kinda of a mixed character due to his explosive personality (heh). **Ochako Uraraka** - She is one of the main characters in the main gang of the series, she is an obvious love interest in Midoriya basically ever since the start of the show. Sadly though, with the power of hindsight (Future season spoilers ahead) ~!Nothing ever trully develops between these 2 atleast not right now and we're on Season 4!!~ Back to non future spoiler talk. She is a bubbly and happy character who always tries her best to make people feel good! **Shouto Todoroki** - He is rather *cold*, thinks more about the situation at hand rather than letting his emotions get to him. **Tsuyu Asui** - **All Might** - The symbol of Peace! After giving his quirk to Midoriya he become more of a Fatherly figure to Midoriya, always encouraging him and supporting him. But he is a teacher at the U.A. High School so he does try to be strict and tell him off. When he is not the #1 hero he is seen being really skinny and coughing blood, apart from the blood thing he acts like a normal citizen. **Shouta Aizawa** - To be honest, he is one of the best characters. You don't see it at first but his strictness is due to his vigilance and need to protect his students, he tries his best as to make sure that his students don't *die* when they are out of High School. **Tenya Iida** - The leader of the class, he is really strict and formal. I'm not a huge fan of his characters. Too strict for me. You know the deal in these reviews "there is more character but I'm too lazy to write more about them" and whatnot... ~~~img500(https://64thopinion.files.wordpress.com/2017/07/boku-no-hero-academia-opening.jpg?w=1080)~~~
[**ART/ANIMATION:**]() The animation is good, to be expected from BONES studio. Its smooth and fluid. The fights look really nice...wish the same could be said about S4... ~~~img420(https://giffiles.alphacoders.com/156/156472.gif)~~~
[**MUSIC:**]() The OP and ED are really catchy, I always listen to them. The OST is also really great with many memorable songs that fit each scene perfectly. ~~~img420(https://i.pinimg.com/originals/49/8a/2a/498a2a87af3f6e1465920c303d221330.gif)~~~
[**OVERALL OPINION:**]() Season 1 of My Hero Academia is great. I loved it, but sadly the future seasons, especially the 4th installment in the series don't live up to the standards set by this season. But this season alone is great, by far my favourite! So despite the fact that I don't like the series anymore as a whole I still can appreciate the beauty of this season!

Suara All Might ini menjadi poin plus sebab berhasil membuat saya terngiang-ngiang dengan ucapannya. Setelah itu, OP dan ED, wew sangat bagus, I like it, music stylenya juga keren. __HOPE YOU ENJOY MY THIRD REVIEW__

__THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE FIRST SEASON__ I can't pinpoint exactly what it is, but there's just something about shonen manga and anime that just pushes all of the right buttons for me. HeroAca, while not being the most innovative title in the genre, takes the best parts of shonen, and perfectly refines it into something truly amazing. The premise here is fairly par-for-the-course, with the protagonist Izuku Midoriya having a fairly believable reason for his underdog status. He is a high schooler without superpowers in a world where over 80% of the population possesses superpowers, otherwise known as Quirks. This changes when he is the first to act in a crisis situation. This grabs the attention of his idol and #1 Hero, All Might. All Might passes his quirk to Midoriya in order to help him achieve his dream of surpassing his idol and becoming the #1 hero. If you've read/watched Naruto, Fairy Tail, or Black Clover, this should sound extremely familiar to you. The cast is rounded out by Midoriya's friends Iida and Uraraka and his rival, Bakugo. The designs of all of Midoriya's friends and classmates are striking, and despite the limited screentime most of them get, you get enough from it such that they are believable, and I'm certainly excited to see where things are gonna go from here. The story itself is paced really well and it felt like something was __actually achieved__ every episode. I'd say my only complaint would be the lack of any compelling antagonist until the last few episodes. Bakugo works well enough as a rival to push Midoriya's development, but I wouldn't really call him an antagonist. Shigaraki has potential, but he was given so little time here and the way they ended things with him this season sets up the next season well enough. On the technical side of things, Studio Bones brought their A-game. Aside from some weird perception issues here or some backgrounds having some less than stellar detail, the animation and art are really good. I touched on it before, but the designs of all the characters just grabs your attention, and you can tell a lot about the characters' powers and personality just from their designs, which is something I really appreciate, and it compensates perfectly for the tiny bit of screentime the members of class 1-A outside of Midoriya's group receives. The animation is really fluid, and that combined with the audio design you can almost feel the impact of some of the attacks. I especially liked how stylized the fight between All Might and the Nomu was. The voicework is also really well done, even with the minor characters. Lastly, the music is just fantastic. Every track perfectly accentuates the scene it's in. Some standout tracks include Plus Ultra, You Say Run, and My Hero Academia. If by some miracle you haven't watched this show yet, you absolutely must watch this first season at the very least. It takes the best parts of all of the battle shonen series to come before it and mixes it into 13 episodes of pure fun and entertainment.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I decided to bite the bullet and watch My Hero Academia. Had people on one side telling me this show is fucking trash and other people singing it's praise from the rooftops. I sit somewhere in the middle where, yeah its pretty mainstream and overhyped but it is by no means a bad show. __Story__ The story takes an interesting premise but not something I haven't seen before within Western media, but interesting none the less. The story serves as an omage to American comic books, something which I really enjoyed. The powers are fun and creative and the set pieces are good fun. It is something that I enjoyed, and with people telling me this was the weakest of all the seasosn, gives me hope that the following ones will improve. However, that does not mean that it is not without it's flaws. After the first few episodes which were really cozy and fun to watch, I wanted the show to kick it up a notch. The first few days of school are fun but start to become a bit dull towards mid season, fortunately the final few episodes really do deliver a punch. Overall, it's decent but nothing to write home about, there are shows that have better first seasons/arc's out there but that does not mean that this one is without it's merits. __ Characters__ Now time for properbly the weakest part of the show. The characters lack a certain edge aside from a select few. The rivalry between Izuku and Kachan is very well handled and you really do feel from the first scene in the first episode that this is going to work well. Again, Izuku's relationship with All Might is great and carries the plot forward along. Izuku is a great protagonist that people can easily empathise with, however at times he can be a bit whiney. However, all of the other characters are a bit one dimensional and dull, not really progressing and serve more to just be there. They are by no means bad, but not particularly good either. Dissapointing considering how great some of their powers are. Izuku's growth and relationship with All Might and Kacchan are what really shine, as well as the three characters individually. __Music__ The Music in this show is great tbh and one of the best parts about it. The opening and outro songs are great and really fit well with the theme of the show. The OST can be a tad lacking at some points but it's very rare with great battle music, emotional scores and just general tracks to create a sense of atmosphere that really works. Overall, good job here. __ Art__ The art is pretty steller. It's never bad and at most of the times the characters look great. However, the janky drawing's sometimes don't look all the best but never looks low effort or bad, just sometimes I feel the style is always to my taste (although 80% of the time it is). There are plenty of interesting and great looking shots that you could easily screengrab. Basically, yh it's pretty good. __ Overall__ Yh it's decent, but it ain't the second coming. If you fancy some light hearted, insperational fun this show is definitely for you. It may feel childish at times but the majority of times it's throughly enjoyable. It's held back at times by the pacing and plot, as well as development of side characters but overall, it doesn't detract from the overall experience. It was nice to have something a bit more light hearted while im beginning to watch the end of the Chimera Ant Arc in Hunter x Hunter. However, this show is not as good as what many people will lead you to believe. Does that mean you shouldn't watch it? Absolutely not, its good, lightherated fun and I'm looking out to checking out Season 2!

# __~~~The Decline of My Hero Academy Part 1: Season 1~~~__ ~~~youtube(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOGiUkXkF6Y)~~~ My Hero Academy's formula for success in season 1? Fun, loose tone. Solid animation and visuals. Characters that are loose enough to feel fun in a world that doesn't appear to take itself too seriously, which is for the best in a battle shounen. What surprised me the most when re-watching was how fun and loose season 1 was. I had become so used to the tired and tedious melodrama and bland villains of the later seasons, that I had forgotten what made the first season good: the amount of effort that’s put into its visuals and its tone. img(https://i.imgur.com/Wx9dCvL.png) Like I couldn’t believe All Might swore in season 1 while re-watching. It made me laugh every time because it was one of the few moments All Might felt human to me. As if his public image was just that, a façade put on for the public, and that he was a different guy when not in front of his fans or the press. You’ll also notice there’s a lot of effort put into making the visuals engaging. Season 1 is very light-hearted and loose, something that is loses in the later seasons, opting for overly serious villain arcs that fall flat for a myriad of reasons I’ll get into later. The production quality and tone become a much bigger problem later, but for now everything seems to be nicely humming along. This applies to the other 2 big things I wanted to talk about for season 1: Deku and Shigaraki. Here’s a brief overview of what happens in season 1: My Hero Academy takes place in a world where people can have quirks, which are superpowers basically. 80% of people have them at this point, but our protagonist Deku doesn’t. He idolizes All Might, and through a chance encounter ends up inheriting All Might’s ability. But, he struggles to control it and it tears up his body. Deku enters UA, the school that All Might went to, and begins going through the entrance exams and then begins life as a student. But during a training exercise, a group called the League of Villains (led by the series’ primary antagonist Shigaraki) raids the school and attacks the students. They are defeated without any casualties among the students, and season 1 comes to a close. # ~~~__The Quirkless Debacle__~~~ I have a lot of issues with the way Deku is written, but for season 1 I think he works fairly well as the protagonist. I like the way the show establishes the traits he possesses that make him the worthy pick to inherit All Might’s ability over other, more talented potential vessels. Namely, this scene in episode 4 that ultimately becomes the deciding factor for All Might choosing him. img(https://i.imgur.com/H0mALU4.png) The problem I have with Deku in season 1 is that Horikoshi uses him to ask a genuinely compelling question, and then does nothing with it. When Deku first asks All Might “Can I be a hero too?”, it poses an interesting quandary…can someone without powers be a hero? The question is really interesting and becomes more interesting as you go along considering basically every major character has a quirk. The only times this theme is brought back up are briefly with Melissa Shield in the first movie, and with Mirio in season 4. But it never really gets into it in as much detail as you’d like. To solve this, I think it would be neat if One for All had an activation period. Where Deku would have to survive entry exams with a barely budding, weak version of One for All rather than having it be so powerful he can’t control it and it injures his body. Because at least then the answer to the question "Can I be a hero too?" isn't "yes, but only if you have powers". After all, the definition of heroism they seem to like going back to after season 3 is "a hero's job is to turn the lip service into reality". The idea there, is that superpowers are not what makes someone a hero. What makes you a hero is if you can "turn the lip service into reality". It doesn't really say anything about superpowers. In fact, a statement like that, and when you think about how Deku throwing himself at the blob monster to save Bakugo despite having no powers is what convinced All Might to transfer the power to him, it’s fair to say that the traits that makes someone a superhero rather than just a guy with powers is explicitly unrelated to superpowers. So why aren't there more examples of heroes or villains that don't have powers? People who overcame their handicap and became examples of what a hero can be even without a quirk? They set up Deku like he was going to be that, but then immediately retreat from it and the idea isn't played with again. This plot choice bothers me because it’s the first big question MHA asks its audience, and it doesn't give that plot line enough time to come up with a good answer before basically erasing it from the narrative. It sets itself up to do one thing that’s risky and interesting, and then retreats to a safer choice that’s more convenient to write around later. When we get to the later seasons, you’ll notice My Hero Academy tends to do that a lot. As it's set up, his power damaging his body is an okay way to prevent All for One from being so strong it feels like a cheap way of getting out of having a quirkless protagonist, but as you’ll see later the series doesn’t like to stick to it. # ~~~__Shigaraki__~~~ The last thing in season 1 I wanted to talk about is Shigaraki. Shiggy is a bit difficult to discuss because Horikoshi’s intentions for the character aren’t always clear. Is he supposed to be stupid and incompetent? Is he supposed to be brilliant and intimidating? Horikoshi doesn’t always make it clear, but like most things in season 1, Shiggy is pretty simple to judge. After all, when you look at him divorced from the context of later seasons, Shigaraki is either a very, very badly executed attempt at an intimidating, intelligent villain; or a villain that’s written to be stupid on purpose at the start so that you can see him grow and become more threatening as the series goes along. My take is that he’s written dumb on purpose here. His childish tantrum throwing, his empty words and half-baked ideologies that seem to indicate nothing whatsoever is going on upstairs, and the students and All Might repeatedly insulting him seem to point to the show being self-aware of how dumb and childish he is. In this context, how badly the raid goes for Shigaraki makes sense. After all, he’s supposed to be a moron here. And the results he gets reflect that. I think maybe you could have had him kill someone to establish him as something of a threat considering this scene makes him look incredibly stupid, but that isn’t an issue...yet. img(https://i.imgur.com/QG6bK5L.png) # ~~~__Conclusion__~~~ Overall, season 1 of My Hero Academy is very solid. Good action, decent characters, and the looser tone lends itself to a much more enjoyable viewing experience compared to later seasons. [Season 2](https://anilist.co/review/13277)

*There's a heart to this show*

https://anilist.co/anime/21459/My-Hero-Academia

Right of the bat, you get a see a 15 year old kid getting bullied by his friends/classmates, crushed by reality that he can't become or achieve his dream and even the one who he admires the most says it's impossible for him. A sad thing to witness but he gets a chance or rather, he earned a chance. He proved that despite all, despite everything he have been through or going through, he still have what it takes to move forward. One of the massive benefit this show has, is it's melodrama, which actually should've had an opposite effect, cause melodrama is a cheap trick to invoke emotions but the show isn't really hiding tho. You got some generic characters with your usual "Heros & Villains" plot, generic world and with probably the most simple & generic powers you can name. Heck! Even Midoriya's ability is nothing but brute strength, something every 10 year old once might have dreamt about and a very outdated super power (though it had it's gimmick). And the show doesn't even try to be anything more than that. But that seemingly predictable drama just worked. I never really thought it was boring or bad, quite enjoyed it actually. It didn't really hyped me up or made me cry, but it did grabbed me and made me sit through all the seemingly childish plotline with it's melodrama. Quite the feat. Other than that, the only points worth mentioning about this show are; the character designs and music. There's no character who is deep & interesting (since there are all just generic), but everyone have some charm to them. And accompanied music in melodramatic scenes are befitting and sometimes does a surprisingly great job at enhancing it. Other than that, nothing really worth mentioning. There are many plain to sight plot armor & plot consistencies. The story is about how Deku becomes the world strongest hero, which he literally mentions in episode 2. While I know the show trying to be nothing but generic, saying this kinda thing took out all the suspense there's to the show, which shouldn't be a bother but it kinda is. Since the show heavily relies on melodrama, it sometimes fell flat. The fights are well animated though not as excellent as I thought or everyone makes them out to be. And while I heard some nasty stuff about the fandom, they didn't really bothered me, cause thankfully. The only one I know is a nice person. The show only have one thing to say and it only says that one message again and again. ~!**Go Beyond your limits**!~ Midoriya, All might and even Bakugou to an extent, constantly try to go beyond something big. Something they can't achieve as they are but they will go beyond. Because... It's their dream. That one childish dream many adults once had but given up because of there own circumstances & just accepted the reality. This show brings out that 10 year old who still believes that there's hope to achieve something. To become something more. #
**To become a Hero** #
**And this is just the beginning**

Boku no Hero Academia by Shounen Jump. The premise is rather simple and classic for a battle shounen. It takes place in an academy setting with the main character trying to become a hero after being inspired by All Might (his idol hero) and others who vowed to protect their world from villains. Up to this point, there has been all sorts of battle shounen series adapted by Shounen Jump so it was time for superheroes to step up to the plate. The main character, Izuku Midoriya is a young boy who is born without powers. As such, he is mocked by peers, especially a childhood bully named Bakugo. As evidenced from many flashbacks, he is mocked because of how useless he is while the most of his class all developed powers (or otherwise known as “Quirks”) It goes far to the point where he is even nicked named “Deku” for being useless. Although the initial story establishes Deku as a weakling, this changes after he meets All Might, a superhero who is famous in their world. A general idea about the show is that Deku is constantly trying to prove himself and to others. Early episodes shows that he is fearlessly loyal to his friends and those he wishes to protect. This also includes Bakugo because Deku always wanted to surpass him after seeing how cool he is. Meanwhile, it’s evident that Deku has potential to become a powerful hero himself. All Might gives him the opportunity by letting Deku borrow his Quirk. After training and determination, Deku establishes himself as a newcomer to keep an eye on while Bakugo grows more jealous of his rival’s abilities. That’s also one of the interesting aspects of the show – the character relationships. Deku develops many relationships throughout the series. These include the rivalry between himself and Bakugo, the student-master relationship with All Might, and various friendships at school. Through these relationships, we see how Deku brings the best and worst out of characters. And believe me, there’s quite a lot of characters with their colorful personalities in this series. As for the character casting, the show does a neat job at characterizing most of them. Each of them has a different personality, a different Quirk, and unique skills that makes them individually talented. Some of the more prominent characters such as Iida, Uaraka, Todoroki all get their screen time that will be memorable for fans. In the meantime, it’s important to visualize that each character also has a reason to become a hero. So in retrospect, the characters aren’t there just to push Deku’s story but also have story themselves. The downside is that the characterization is condensed for this adaptation as result of the minimal episode figures. It would also seem inevitable that the show is inspired by other genres and Shounen Jump works. The generic Exam Arc can be easily compared to series such as Naruto although with different styles. Meanwhile, there’s the whole underdog premise with the main character trying to make a name in their world. Still, the show is definitely fun to watch as it also seems to be inspired by American comic heroes. Popular series in North America such as The Flash, Arrow, etc all have heroes and there’s some resemblance that can be taken to account for this series. All Might stands out as the poster boy, Deku is the most prominent underdog, while Bakugo is portrayed as the hardcore antihero. And of course, we can’t forget about the villains either. In contrast to the heroic resemblance of the good guys, the villains are designed to look malevolent. The show does a nice job at introducing them without shoving them down the audience’s throats. Villains such as Stain and Kurogiri looks legitimately menacing. It also invites the anime only fans to wonder about their intentions, roles, and how powerful they really are. Because really, the show is literally saturated with all sorts of powers. You name it. We got super strength, explosive punches, gravity manipulation, superhuman flight, ice and fire control, invisibility, and even a girl who can use frog-like abilities. For a world with about 80% humans capable of using supernatural powers, it comes with a cool features. The show creatively designs its characters that matches a fair amount of consistency. Let’s face it, Kouhei Horikoshi is an underrated mangaka and his previous works weren’t considered major successes. Here, we got this show that has superheroes, action, and it just seems like every shounen fan’s wet dream. The character designs, while looks generic, is also creatively attractive. Every character has their own unique appearance and those who are heroes are equipped with a stylistic costume. The action is well choreographed as well when you see punches landing or super powers connecting as how it should. Furthermore, character expressions brings out the best of personalities whether it’s fierce (Bakugo), Charming (Urakara), or heroic (All Might). Deku’s reactions are mostly comedic although when he gets hyped up, there’s a lot to keep an eye on as well. Indeed, the music and soundtrack of the show is a solid demonstration of his talent in this show. It is crisp, intense, and cinematic all the same time. For a battle shounen series like this, it’s important to capture every important scene and the music delivered just that – making them relevant. The OP and ED theme songs are also creatively crafted with flamboyant choreography and style. Finally, praise should also be given to the voice acting especially for All Might and Bakugo as their character personalities really shines when you listen to their voice. So in the end, what should you expect from this show? There’s a lot and if you’re a big fan of battle shounen, then this will be a wonderful treat. From diverse character cast to the high dosage of superhero action, Boku no Hero Academia is a very fun show to watch. All in all, the show is recommendable to anyone. Whether you’re a new viewer getting into anime or a seasonal fan of shounen series, it’s a show that’s nothing short of exciting. img220(https://images.app.goo.gl/RffKXrXpXqPJaGRH8) img220(https://images.app.goo.gl/waaRanTzruWX4mdEA)

__TL;DR is located at the end of the review. __ "My Hero Academia" takes place in a world where 80% of the population possesses a special ability known as a "quirk", unique to the individual person. This story follows Izuku Midoriya. He's a boy who spent his childhood looking up to his idol, All Might. All Might is one of the strongest heroes, also known as the "Symbol of Peace", who spends his time fighting evil. He dreams of becoming a great hero like All Might, but never developed a quirk. His only chance at becoming a hero is to make it into UA High School, the #1 hero training academy. He is constantly picked on for not having a quirk by his classmate Katsuki Bakugou, and calls Midoriya "Deku" as an insult. Midoriya meets All Might, and discovers All Might's quirk is known as "One For All", giving him high strength and making him almost impossible to beat. Unlike other quirks, this quirk can be passed down and gets stronger the more people it has been passed down to. All Might is revealed to have an injury that limits his time where he is able to use his quirk. Midoriya trains his endurance so his body can handle the quirk, and All Might passes the quirk onto him. Despite this, Midoriya can only use the quirk once and then breaks whatever part of his body he used the quirk with. The story progresses and both Bakugou and Midoriya make it into UA High School through a test where they must fight robots representing villians to earn points. Midoriya meets his classmates and teachers, who have mixed opinions on him. The rest of the show follows his journey on becoming a hero. ~~~__Visuals__~~~The visuals feel like the standard for a shounen. The fight scenes are what really hold together the show, as they are exciting and decently drawn. The character designs are unique and make them easy to recognize. ~~~ __Plot__ ~~~The area where this show is lacking though, is the plot. There's some filler episodes and it doesn't have a great overarching central point. Most of the episodes just show Midoriya training and attempting to become a strong hero. There isn't a strong conflict besides some fight scenes between heroes and villains. ~~~ __Characters__ ~~~While the characters are well done on the outside, they don't add much development to the story. Only a few characters actually make a difference, while most of the class is kind of just there. I'm not referring to main characters and side characters either. Bakugou, one of the most important characters in the show, barely leaves a mark on the story. His only memorable trait is that he bullies Midoriya, which doesn't change anything about the show. ~~~__TL;DR/Conclusion__~~~This anime is average. That's the best way I can put it honestly. It doesn't make an impact, but it doesn't suck either. Its main purpose is to entertain the viewer and is meant for younger audiences. It certainly does fulfill that job, but not well. The parts that are meant to be funny are out of place and bad. The visuals are a slightly effective attempt at covering up the meaningless plot. Overall, I'd suggest this show to someone looking for something that isn't deep or hard to understand. Probably gonna get bashed by the mha fandom but oh well.

When I started watching MHA, I didn't have huge expectations of it. it was one of the first anime I watched and my first opinion on it was "huh, its ok". Now I came back to it, few years and few shows later, and I can say without a doubt that it's a pretty darn mid show. Lets start of with the characters. The main cast is a classroom of 20 teens. I like good chunk of them, dislike some, and don't care bout the rest. If you look at it as a class, its a very good group, but if you look at the individual "heroes", not that good writing starts to show. The finest example of it is Mineta (I'll ignore the main character cuz you all there is to him is revealed in the 1st episode.). As we know from the 3rd episode you can get accepted to Hero Academia by passing the entrance exam, or by being rich. The exam is pretty darn hard, as to pass it you have to either defeat bigass robots, or save other students from those robots. So, you may ask :"What the exam has to do with Mineta?". I'll give you an answer. There is no fucking what that this __3'7"__ shithead could pass this exam. He also should be in jail (or at least under the watch of a prosecutor) for sexual harassment. I fucking hate him he brings only shitty fanservice to the table. You might notice that I didn't say anything about his personality or backstory, and that's because he has neither of those. So now lets look at a somewhat good example of a character, Tsuyu Asui. Asui is the great frog goddess, and the best character in the entire show (at least seasons 1-2). So far I have no idea what her backstory is, but her personality, design, also voice acting are all very good. You see, Tsuyu has a quirk (superpower) that basically gives her frog powers. And those aren't some random ass powers that she just has, but they are part of her personality, at least in some small way. What I mean by this, is that in every interaction we see that Asui, _at least in some small way_ acts like a frog. For example she ends a lot of her sentences with a "ribbit". Other good thing about our Froggy is that she is very good at calming people. It makes sense, as she's pretty damn cute in the way she talks and all that frog shit (frogs are cool). Where I'm going to with all this crap is that MHA has a lot of cool characters, but everyone has their favorites. And that's very good. But what is not good is that a good chunk of them has some not good writing. Just look at the main rival of the protagonist, Bakugo. Bakugo has an amazing design, but his personality and why he is the way he is, are, almost as bad as 1/3rd of Mineta. This shit is getting long, but what I mean by "bad personality" is that he's the biggest fucking asshole ever, who screams at everyone and everything. Which is an even bigger shame when you consider the fact that sometimes he acts like a giga chad, to just be annoying as fuck. again, 5s later. Also, the reason why he is such an asshole is like, I dunno how to write it, but basically once Deku (Protagonist) helped him when he didn't need help, and he got mad at him (they were 5yo at the time btw). To me, Bakugo is an amazing example of a great foundation but screwing up every good aspect of the character. I have more to say tbh, but no one's gonna read this anyway and I'm kinda tired, so one last thing, The Show is a very good time killer. Watching it as the only thing you do is not very fun, as you start thinking a little bit about the characters, or the villains, or the schooling system, and you realize that the writing is, the way it is. BUT I must say that it works perfectly fine as a background thing. And I don't mean it by "It's on the tv I don't even see" but it being like on a phone or 2nd monitor when you play Minecraft or Civilization. I watched the 2nd season like this, and even tho sometimes it still was bad, I could just not pay that much attention to those parts, and watch happily those moments I liked. (Edit: After watching Welcome to Demon School Izuma-kun I feel that I went kinda too harsh on it, so I'm giving it 53)

What fascinates my most about My Hero Academia is how quickly and effortlessly the series, as a Shonen, manages to carry conflicts and battles through personal involvement rather than external spectacle. Almost every conflict has an emotional core that explains something about the character or advances their development. This often leads to fantastically staged moments that build an epic atmosphere through camera work, dialogue, and background music, all driven by the inner desires of the characters. Especially for the Shonen archetype that MHA emulates, it's remarkable how authentically they make Deku appear. He steps into the role of the naive, childlike protagonist who "wants to become the best," yet doesn't carry the carelessness and relative foolishness often seen in these characters. On the contrary, through his meticulous studies regarding heroes, he manages to rise to the status of a hero student despite his lack of talent. The established message from the beginning (that one can achieve anything if they believe and work hard enough, even if no one believes in them) forms an incredibly strong narrative arc, humanizing Deku for many viewers who can relate to these experiences based on their personal backgrounds. This allows MHA, despite being in the action-shonen genre, to serve as an allegory for everyday life experiences, something many Shonen struggle to achieve. This is evident in the school setting, initially seeming unusual for the genre. However, it evolves into a real group dynamic, with different friendships and rivalries, allowing each character and their relationships to be experienced as a growing social network. Although still rudimentary, the potential seems significant through this backdrop to build a strong, character-centric plot. This was already effectively demonstrated towards the end of the season when the students were maneuvered into an overwhelming situation, where they not only got to know each other and their abilities but also had to learn to rely on one another. It somewhat resembled the early Naruto arcs, but here, the complexity of the different characters became more apparent. The ending was an extreme hype moment that truly did justice to All Might's character. I'm very excited to see how it progresses, but from the initial impression, My Hero Academia seems to be the kind of Shonen I've been waiting for since I watched Monster Rancher. The fact that it's organized into seasons also helps achieve a well-rounded composition for each segment without falling into the typical filler and stretching pitfalls of other adaptations. I hope it continues in this vein.
