Aquarion Logos

Aquarion Logos

Once upon a time, human voices had defined the true nature of all things, yet the invention of text changed the status quo, while creating a "Logos World" between the voice and the truth. Millennia have passed since then, advancements of civilizations have made the "Logos World" too big to control "texts." A group of young people dedicate themselves to counter chaotic "texts" with "Creative Voice Power," and among them, a boy named Akira Kaibuki living in Asagaya.

SkiesOfAquaria

I love Aquarion, all of it This weird and misunderstood series, an experiment of what would happen if you let Kawamori do absolutely fucking anything uninhibited. An inconsistent, at times incomprehensible mess of ideas carried entirely by how ridiculous and over the top but honest-to-god and self-aware it plays every single episode, the poster child of "idk what they said but I get it". It's something strange to me how people call Aquarion "just your average mecha" as it really is average only on the surface, but its execution is anything but average or normal, I want to see YOUR show turn a funny episode about cosplaying as your friends into a message about the infinite millimeter that will always exist between people's hearts, topped off by your main mecha extending into a higher plane of existence to finally clobber the monster of the week If there's anything to take away from that rambling, is that Aquarion is ridiculous but it has a vibe like no other. Genesis was a charming and surreal, EVOL tuned down the weirdness and gave us a slightly more cohesive but still insane experience, and then came Logos, an anime whose most notable trait is being "the bad one". The Aquarion season everyone was disappointed by and hated and killed the series etc etc The reason? As far as I can tell it's because Logos isn't linked to the Apollonius myth and is "only Aquarion by name" A reason which I think sucks and anyone who actually has probably shouldn't have watched Aquarion to begin with. What kind of dumbass would expect consistency and predictability from Aquarion this late into the game? We watch this because it's unlike anything else not because it's """objectively""" good. There are a lot of other reasons to dislike this anime, if you mentioned that the art is weird or the budget is defs lower than the previous seasons or anything of the sort I would agree, not that I minded them but you have a point And yes, Apollonius might have fucked off to another script but Logos isn't an Aquarion only by name, but BY HEART. Deava's fight against the Kanji beasts who, when corrupted, corrupt any aspect of the world they are associated with is as Aquarion as shadow angels or abductors That exaggeration and ridiculousness in every single episode is there. What may begin as an episode about "heat" might turn into characters powering up by thinking about how awesome swimsuits are, what may begin as an episode about "bug" might turn into Aquarion doing rakugo to make a pun so funny the Kanji beast gets confused about its own meaning. Every fight brings a new and bizarre concept that gets solved in an equally bizarre way, doesn't that sound Aquarion to you? It sure does to me So over all. Logos is more Aquarion, it shines in its own way just like the previous seasons and carries the spirit of the series just as well. The new Aquarion combinations are really cool and unique and Akira is the funniest main character of all time. Don't listen to anybody else telling you otherwise, Logos is awesome btw did you know Evol backwards is Love?
